No, he was an American who won a contest to act in a popular Japanese TV show in Tokyo called Lilymu

He ends up staying on the show and gets into all kinds of wacky adventures with his fellow cast members

It was a funny show and I liked it

But you know how some animes have like little clips used for transitions?

Mikey would have dancing chibi sushi making gutteral noises while uncomfortable music played in the background, making me fear someone would think I'm watching something dorky
