Twig
I've known several 360 gamers who dislike the multiplayer because of the online atmosphere and frequent glitching/cheating/hacking in games and stick to single-player gaming. Oh look' date=' you pointed out another problem in the xbox360 for us. Yes, you can enjoy the xbox360 without online play, but for only a few months. Face it, single player games don't last very long.[/quote'] 1.It's also pretty frequent on PS3 2. Yep, exactly like multiplayer games. They're interesting for a few months, but then you can just get another. 1. Minus the hacking part. Or so I heard... 2. Well if you're rich, yes, you can just buy another. If I had to choose to play the exact same game for a whole year, a multiplayer game would most likely be my choice. A console war is never fun without battles. ^^
'tyleR
Xbox has a crappy selection of Single Player games. Are you kidding? Bioshock' date=' Fallout 3, Half-Life, Portal, MW1, Oblivion. Several games that are very enjoyable in single-player. (Fallout 3 is for both systems, but either way it's for 360, and it's great.)[/quote'] All of those games are also in the PS3. -.- My mistake, but either way, I didn't say they weren't. >.> Everyone knows that MW1 & Fallout 3 are for PS3, but Bioshock, HF, Portal, & Oblivion all came for 360 first. Mainly the reason why I stated Fallout 3, but either way, it's funking 12 right now. Give me a break. Unfortunately' date=' not eveyone is interested in the likes of Bioshock.[/quote'] True, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it's a great single-player game for the 360. If we're talking about opinion, then half of what everyone stated is invalid, because just like Bioshock isn't interesting in one person's eyes, the 360 could have a rather large library of good single-player games to a person besides you. I really don't see what your point is. We're talking about single-player being good overall. Not FFXIII being a three part disc. Either way, if you complain about that, you're a little jabroni. I don't know how the hell that's going to ruin you're funking experience. :/

The money they save by not getting Gold is enough to buy either a slightly older game or a vast chunk of a brand new one.
Zexaeon
@Problematica: I'm agreeing to disagree with you. The argument has continuously moved around in circles, and for me to properly have the patience for this, I'll need to be running on more than 2 hours sleep, thank you. I'll settle to say, looking over the last 2 pages, we've both made good points, and we've also made wrong ones. This is not me trying to "make nice". This is me being honest. And if I'm being honest, I'm tired of this. Believe whatever you like.
Poseidon©
The only reason I'd buy the PS3 is for GoW III.Apart from that' date=' I'd probably get a 360 and play MW2 with my friends in school.[/quote'] Heavy Rain? There isn't anything like it on the Xbox.MGS4? Best Gamespot game in history, and over 30 hours of gameplay.Little Big Planet? Again, there isn't anything like it on the Xbox, and very customizable.Killzone 2? Widely played, awesome graphics, great community, and balanced.God of War 3? There is Dante's Inferno, which is blatantly rip off of GoW3, but it sucks. 3D Dot Game Heroes? Legend of Zelda tribute, nothing like it on the Xbox.ModNation Racer? Nothing like it on the Xbox, and very customizable.Gran Turismo 5? Forza 3, I know, but does it have over 1000 cars, 60 tracks, awesome graphics, and a awesome physics engine? No, I didn't think so.Killzone 3? I can't judge on it, but it's already in development. Playstation Move? Yes, Natal. Ever heard of Microsoft targeting the casual market? The Last Guardian? Twisted Metal?Flower?Agent?Crysis 2? Better than the Xbox version, since of Blu-Ray capabilities, and more processing power. Infamous? Better story, and gameplay than Prototype. Uncharted 2? Flame Dragon
There's only 3 topics about this? Really?Do you know why their are only 3 topics? Because I made an official thread for this topic. Hell' date=' you even posted in it. I'm just going to merge the 2 threads. And just so I've posted somethingTheir is no "best." It's all a matter of what kind of games you like. Wii: Not counting all the half ass party games just a general system. It has a good verity of good titles most of which cover many different genres. If I’d pin one genre to it I'd say it's the more of an action adventure system, but again it's hard to say since the good games do cover many bases, I'd even say of the 3 it's the hardest to pick the genre that stands out best. Another plus is most of it's good games (of which it does have many) are exclusive giving it a huge selling point. 360: It's an online system. Really, take away Live and it's a shadow of it's current self. That being said most of the good exclusives are FPSs or some kind of shooter and so make for great online games. One of it's major problems is the 50% failure rate. Even with newer models fixing the major problems, they still fail. PS3: Like the Wii it's more a general system. It has a wide verity of games, but I'd say the RPGs are still the PS's main focus. It's one problem is that a lot of it's good titles are also on the 360 so it's main selling point is the exclusives (of which it has less stand outs then the 360, however it has several good ones on the horizon). Since I can get into them DS: Like the Wii has many good games that cover many different genres. PSP: It's a multi medi system. As far as games go, it has very few good, stand out ones. It makes up for this with by being able to watch movies and play music. [spoiler=List of Wii games]New Super Mario Bros WiiSuper Smash Bros. BrawlZelda: Twilight Princess (Is on the GC, but that still is a Nintendo system) Mario Kart WiiFire Emblem Radiant DawnTatsunoko vs. CapcomMadWorldMario Strikers ChargedMetroid Prime Trilogy (which is 3 different amazing games)Super Mario GalaxyNo More Heroes (Is out in Japan on other systems but I’m not going to count that)No More Heroes 2Dead Space ExtractionThe ConduitWarioWare: Smooth MovesWii Sports ResortWario Land: Shake It!A Boy and His BlobTiger Woods PGA Tour 10Boom BloxBoom Blox Bash PartyPunch-Out!!Muramasa: The Demon Bladede BlobThe House of the Dead: OverkillZack and WikiSuper Paper MarioEndless Ocean 2: Adventures of the DeepMonster Hunter TriRed Steel 2Sam & Max: Season One These are all the good Wii only games I can think of. john3
i'd say it's a dead tie between ps3 and xbox, xbox just has more of its own games, and ps3's live is free, they both blow away the wii, which doesn't have voice communication, has only long un-memorizable friend codes, and has no mature games of it's own. it cant even play dvds. not to mention its the second most easy to homebrew console, right behind psp. the DSi however, is actually much better than the wii. it's like a cross between a phone and a Game system, id say it comes close, but still doesn't beat psp. (srry for bump of old thread, it was on the official thread list)
Flame Dragon
which doesn't have voice communicationWhy would a system that isn't built for on online need voice chat? And your wrong' date=' it does have a voice chat thing. has only long un-memorizable friend codesWhich only hurts the like 10 games that really use it's online. and has no mature games of it's ownThat's just stupid. Not only is that a stupid way to judge a system the Wii does it get the COD games and if you took the time to look at my list of good Wii games you would know it has a handful of good M rated games. But again WHY DOES THAT MATTER!!! it cant even play dvdsWho cares? Also it DOES have Netflix. not to mention its the second most easy to homebrew console' date=' right behind psp[/quote']The only reason the PSP is worth ANYTHING is because it can be hacked, so how is this a bad thing? FYI, the Wii doesn't need homebrew to be good. the DSi however' date=' is actually much better than the wii. it's like a cross between a phone and a Game system[/quote']Um, how is it a cross with a phone? id say it comes close' date=' but still doesn't beat psp. [/quote']Yes it does. The DS outsells EVERYTHING this gen. Not only that but the PSP has a crap game line up and is only good once hacked, but for a system to be good only when you do so just says that it is a failure in it's own right. Also, fun fact, DS outsells PSP 2 to 1. (srry for bump of old thread' date=' it was on the official thread list)[/quote']As I said in the offical thread list, these can be bumped any time. Plus this is better then having another thread on this.
john3
i meant that since the wii is second to easiest to hack is a bad thing *-* all three consoles have netflex, and you dont need a seperate disk for xbox in my opinion ds has better games than psp, but psp has more features, it can play, liek movies most next-gen consoles are built around the online features, and the wii's, just doesnt cut it, who wants to play ssbb by themselves? Kiyo
I hate how people hack for online (PH, Mario Kart, Pokémon...)But not all hacking is bad; my friend is developing AR codes that allow you to play as Bowser or Boo in SM64 DS (the former is done and pretty much bug-free). Moonwalking in that game is hilarious, too. I don't have a PS3 either, but some games make me wanna buy it. Kingdom Hearts 3, which I'm guessing is going to be PS3 exclusive, would force me to. (Same way BBS is making me want a PSP.)
5252345262667
I like them all, but if I had to choose PS3 and Wii. Wii because its made by Nintendo and has Mario and who dosent like Mario? He is the one who "reviloutinized" gaming with Super Mario 64 as people say. PS3 is also great, good exclusives, good graphics, etc. XBOX (IMO) is good, it would surpass PS3 if it had free online and didnt break 99% of the time. Dark
The first time I saw the PSP, I thought it had a touch screen. I was pretty sad when I found out it didn't. The screen seriously looks like you can touch it and drag your finger around to make stuff happen. :/ I hate how people hack for online (PH, Mario Kart, Pokémon...) Pokemon is okay for hacking as long as it's something funny like sprite changes or legal hacks. Err, one thing I don't like about the Wii is that not many games support different styles of play. Granted SSBB has Wii, Wii + Nunchuk, Classic, Gamecube, but not many games have that option. Some games require you to have the Nunchuk, while some require you not to have the Nunchuk. I can understand that some games wouldn't work with/without an attachment, but it's just something I thought of.
Murch
The PS3 absolutly owns in capability, but developers don't seem to take advantage of it. The graphics could be many times better, but developers don't do it. The games can be longer and more story based, but the developers don't do it. The 360 matches the size and graphics of most ps3 games with their high-profile releases, so the PS3 would win hands-down if it reached it's potential. Overall, I think that the ps3 and 360 tie. The wii kills them both because of developers like Square Enix, that really push the hardware to the limits.

Pokemon is okay for hacking as long as it's something funny like sprite changes or legal hacks. I'm okay for humorous things like sprite changing or research (Bulbapedia, Serebii), but I'm still not fine with hacking Pokémon in. People should actually "play" the game and achieve it themselves. It makes getting Arceus or whatever not seem like a big deal. Err, one thing I don't like about the Wii is that not many games support different styles of play. The WiiMote didn't really bother me, though. Also, Destructoid confirms that Iwata said, "the next Nintendo console will be 3D-ready", but it won't be released soon because "consumers aren't used to 3D TVs yet". (Oh, the irony...) Perhaps they'll return to classic controls, and use the 3D as the "innovation"?

Dark
That's what FD was saying; the XBOX360 and PS3 share most of their library, so you can't say one or the other is better based on that. The Wii, while sharing some multiplatform games, has a lot more games exclusive to itself. If you want to rate a console by how many fun, exclusive games it has (assuming the definition of fun suits a NORMAL person), the Wii would have the most, by far. nintendo needs to improve their wifi abilities Agreed. The 3DS has already been stated to have a single Friend Code for the console itself, and Nintendo doesn't necessarily need a username or gamertag system. In things like Pokemon, your trainer name identifies you, and in things like Mario Kart, your system name identifies you. One Friend Code for the console is fine, and no one should be complaining. In terms of actual WiFi, I agree, again. There needs to be less lag, and definitely amp up the number of games that can use WiFi. While Nintendo isn't primarily a WiFi based company, out of all my current DS games, only three of them can access WiFi: Diamond, SoulSilver, Mario Kart. Out of all my Wii games, I think only four of them can access WiFi, maybe five or three, idk. But yeah, they definitely should for games that can have WiFi. For something like WiiSports, you don't really care for WiFi connection. bungie blows away square enix, reach is coming out this fall. its pushing xbox beyond it's limits Opinion, and I personally find Square Enix games very enjoyable. Also, I don't know if Reach is Halo or Call of Duty, but the point stands that it is a shooter game, and you act like your console(s) don't have enough of that. This is my personal preference, but the only game I'd ever thing to play on any non-Wii console is GTA and any non-Nintendo Final Fantasy game.
