Death Metal
Discuss them. Example: "Un"Black/White Metal. Has it's gems but is overlooked due to the fact that it has Christian based lyrics. Example of White Metal.. Discuss underrated genres such as the one above. Discuss the various artist of such genres too. =D

Eury
Pretty much Metal in it's entirety. More people are listening to Crap and Hip Hop. And everyone (almost) says "Oh, if you listen to Metal your going against God and you're going to go to Hell". I hate Christian/Rap Elitists who do that. At least one person a day says that to me. It's making me angry. Just cause someone listens to Metal doesn't make them a Satanist. More people need to understand that and enjoy the Music. inb4it'sfunnycausehe'sasatanistinb4christianandrapelitists
Tabris
Hip Hop. Oh, sure, the scene's littered with bullshit, but there were outstanding artists once upon a time, who put their music first before their thirst for the almighty dollar (Grandmaster Flash, A Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys, KRS-One). Dismal Euphony
Atmospheric black metal is highly underrated. People always listen to the basic, cookie-cutter black metal. Where's the love for atmospheric black metal? D:

Death Metal
"Oh' date=' if you listen to Metal your going against God and you're going to go to Hell"[/quote'] Considering most modern rap breaks all 13 amendments in each juicy song. I would call that "irony". Atmospheric black metal is highly underrated. People always listen to the basic' date=' cookie-cutter black metal. Where's the love for atmospheric black metal? D:[/quote'] Blame Burzum. People don't listen to it because they haven't heard any Paysage d'Hiver. ;)

I'll do that - once my whimsical feet carry me to Scandinavia. As of now, though, they're gonna rest in a boilin' tub of water.
Tabris
Here's another underrated genre fer ye: POP. (I mean vocal groups, as well as singers who lived/live by their vocal prowess alone, from the mid-19th century till now.) They've got luminaries from Billie Holiday to Frank Sinatra to Diana Ross to Barbra Streisand to Dusty Springfield to... ... and yet I don't understand why some people evince a distaste for pop, even accepting that most contemporary pop is, well, pap. And every genre has it's ups and downs. You also don't have to like rap either. But it's still an industry, and we enjoy it. We don't call your hardcore yelling and screeching out of place either. It's also still an industry. We respect it, so why can't you? Hip Hop. Oh' date=' sure, the scene's littered with bullshit, but there were outstanding artists once upon a time, who put their music first before their thirst for the almighty dollar (Grandmaster Flash, A Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys, KRS-One).[/quote'] Rap. The industry gets bad mouthed because everyone can look as hard as possible to find the negativity, but when we spit positive messages it gets overlooked. Dismal Euphony
I, personally, don't have an issue with rap as a genre. I've been listening to a lot of rap and r&b lately. My issue is the newer rap that is just downright terrible. For example, the song "Stanky Leg." You can't honestly tell me that this is good! Alexander²
Besides Frank Sinatra, Metal is underrated. You see bands like Devo and Banararama who get high on the charts (I talk music like its still the 80s), but yet, I bet there were much more Judas Priest and Iron Maiden fans in the world then Bananarama...
