RavenArchangel
I want to know. Not minor ones, just the major ones. (Unless its a minor difference that is a slightly different card is used, (or it has a slightly dif effect) in which case I want to know but otherwise I don't really care about minor differences) I heard the GX and 5Ds manga are different, so I GOTTA know. lol If there is already a topic like this: forgive me please, go ahead and close this one and please give me a link to that one. I didn't see one so yeah. (I'm going to feel like an idiot if I overlooked it tho..but I'm kinda not home atm XP)
Cin
GX has a whole different plot. Anymore differences? Only constants are characters and Ryo's Deck Theme of CyDra. Judai losing to Manjoume's Dragons was fun though.
RavenArchangel
Whole Different plot? O rly? How interesting...and bothersome sense that makes it to where I'm not sure which to consider canon..the manga or the anime -.- at least with Yugioh Duel Monsters I can say they are both cannon but a few parts of one is non-cannon and/or alternate timeline. But with GX I have to declare one manga cannon and one anime cannon @_@ wai couldn't they just make it like the anime but with a few extra duels or something. Whats the plot then? And what about the 5Ds manga?
Cin
Well I sort of tuned out of the GX manga after the tournament. Generally it seems to have started back when Manjoume and Judai's idol (who he got his manga deck from) well afflicted with some sort of illness that made it dangerous for him to duel. Now the evil seems to have made it to the Duel Academy, affecting the spirit monsters, (namely Hane/Winged Kuriboh atm), Judai has to stop it. There was a tournament in with the prize, a duel with the newly returned from America, Kaiser. That finished but the prize match was sidetracked (in terms of coverage in manga) with evil rearing its ugly head.

O.o which would be sad sense GX is the best Yugioh anime series out of the 3 (So not counting YGO sense it doesn't have Duel Monsters in it) from what I've seen so far. Cin
YGO does have Duel Monsters, albeit a different version. After why else would Kaiba kill? I prefer the GX manga plot to the anime one in places.

I might give it a look but so far sense its plot is dif from the anime I'm not sure I want to..
Namo™
GX has a whole different plot. Well the only reason that is, it's because that the GX anime and GX manga are made by different people. the person who drew the manga drew it during the second season maybe, and never knew that Jaden changes his look, now seeing this is "Major" I guess its actually a good turn for the worst
Cin
True different writers,I forgot about that. Major difference is Sho being too nice in the manga, as oppose too nasty in the anime
RavenArchangel
True different writers' date='I forgot about that. Major difference is Sho being too nice in the manga, as oppose too nasty in the anime[/quote']Different Illustrator too. Keep in mind: GX and 5Ds mangas are both made by (Written AND Illstrated I might add) two random jim-bobs we've never heard of (the asain equvilant of course) and only overseen by Kazuki Takahashi. Meanwhile Yugioh R is made by one of his former assitants, and overseen by Kazuki Takahashi. The reason I include Yugioh R in this topic is, it shows that all 3, being made at the same time into Manga (well GX had a head start though) are all made by different people, only one of them being associated with Kazuki Takashi in any way, though he oversees all three. And who knows if there is any one person to credit the animes to lol. (Tho it is said that the one who writes and illustrates Yugioh R, Akira Ito, [according to volume 1 of R] also helped plan Yugioh GX ironicly.) So obviously they can vary in stuff...and no, they aren't just writers, they drew each too =p
jayjack
The manga has a lot less "End of the world because of card games" business. Its more of a "I can sorta break the rules and get away with it"
RavenArchangel
From what I heard the real reason is actually that the Creator of Yugioh wanted the manga to be dif to give fans of the anime a reason to read the manga.
RavenArchangel
I've started reading the GX Manga and...I gotta say, its much better than expected. I like it more than the Anime so far...go figure sense so far GX is my fav of the Yugioh anime LOL (It might change if I see more of 5Ds but for me GX anime will always be better than DM Anime, and the same seems to be the case for manga so far, though I will say the GX manga art style is a bit..cartoonish compared to its anime counterpart. Probably the only thing I don't like about it.)
Cin
I sort of stopped on the GX Manga after the tournament, I'm waiting for Janime's Subbers Tnkp to scanlate more of it
Frozen Judgment
The plot is entirely different, the cards they use are entirely different, the characters sometimes have different personalities, some characters in the show aren't even included, and they have new characters that only appear in the manga. That enough differences for you? :D
Azuh
Mthunder actually runs a proper deck with Light and Darkness Dragon. That alone makes it better than the anime
Cin
List something I haven't already guys. I think my fav difference is Fubuki's nickname, by the fact he actually has one where in the anime he made one up (47 - Ally Of Love, 48 - Blizzard Prince) the use of the Word King does seem to make him seem more on par with Kaiser, as oppose to below him in the Anime (Before Fujiwara went missing, Fubuki was the 3rd Best in the School, Ryo was the 2nd best)
