Yeah' date=' I [i']pretty[/i] much agree with atheism, as at least the gods most people think exist don't make much sense logically or morally for that matter. But the ever-existent idea of uncertainty means that to say something is absolutely true isn't the correct stance to take. You can firmly believe in something, but in the end being Agnostic seems like the sensible standpoint. If we're going by what you believe to be so I's either be an atheist, but perhaps even then I would be agnostic.

In my opinion, the sensible standpoint is definitely atheism. But people have their opinions, and I respect and understand your beliefs more than I do anyone of any ancient religion, or any deistic religion.

There is no way to absolutely disprove the existence of a god or gods.

Therefore atheism as a theoretical position is stupid. However, keep in mind that this same concept justifies the possible existence of flying spaghetti monsters, mutant potatoes with a vendetta, and unicorns. So it's pretty sensible to surmise that a god or gods does not exist.

This being said, the possibility of such an existence must be admitted. Thus agnosticism.

Christian/Atheist

One tends to change spending a lot of time in a place like YCM.

That's pathetic. If you can have a load of online people persuade you to change your beliefs' date=' you don't deserve to have them.

[/quote']

Apparently not being thick-headed is pathetic nowadays. :S

Are you referring to not thinking on your own, or not allowing others to persuade you?

Apparently open-minded means "easily swayed" nowadays.

What do you mean Amethyst? You seem to be confirming what I said if anything. That isn't usually the case with responses on YCM in that matter, so I'm just checking.

You acted like the fact that him being persuaded was pathetic.

I think I was taking more of a middle ground.

An argument on the internet, if it's actually good, could most definitely convince people.

However, many people just say someone's being close-minded or some such when they aren't convincing them and act like open-minded = easily swayed, and use that as justification for their victory.

I suppose it's more of me than anything, because I personally believe that only you should change your major beliefs ( a religion specifically).

I prefer to keep an open mind. I don't necessarily believe in God, but I don't deny the possibility of God's existence. Though, it is because of this that many devoted christians tell me that means I'm Athiest, even though to be Athiest you must believe whole-heartedly that no God exists, so I would have to say Athiest.

I agree but you aren't Atheist. You are just one with no religion or a non-religious person. Atheism is the believe that no god exists. He could exist, I just don't care.

That's what I said, I just voted athiest for the sake of the poll.

I dunno. I guess it would be closest to Deism.

Welcome the Agnosticland dues.

But I still think this topic is pointless. There are many other religions, some which don't include a god or goddess and others which just believe in magic or mystical beings.

I don't know too much about all that sliding scale of Atheism vs. Agnosticism/insert belief that I don't know about, so based on the chart I'm more on the Atheist side since I don't believe in a deity/deities. I do believe in Evolution, though, so I guess I'm Darwinist. =/

How do you believe in a scientific theory? It's like saying scientology is a real religion.

I am a full Atheist. I only believe in what I see.

This means... ya know.

There is a picture of God in front of you' date=' but you don't believe in him?

So if there is a picture of Jupiter in front of you, does that exist?

You might want revise what you said.

Do I look like the person who believes in pictures? Pictures... Grr...

I'd much rather be a christian than an atheist. As at least I have something to look forward to...

Thought I am neither.

Look forward to what, Supermod Icy? Its like Christians have awesome parties. They do have holidays.
