Loads of times. Why else would my essays suck?

I did' date=' but then a random bottle of white out appeared above it and got rid of it.

It's actually Deus Ex Machina, btw ("e" comes first).

So a Deus Ex Machina stopped you from resorting to Deus Ex Machina, huh? Cool.

Oh hey, someone finally caught that.

I caught it, but it was like 2am so I didn't bother to comment on it. Naturally, the white bottle was your deus ex machina that stopped you from using a deus ex machina.

I used it in good faith, and yes it is lazy, but I wanted to wrap up my short story before it was too long to be handed in. >.<

What's a Deus Ex Machina? Yes' date=' I googled it, but didn't understand sh*t of what it said.

It's introducing a character randomly into the story to solve something that can't be solved byt the current characters, and such.

Oh ok. If so, multiple times.

I came to this thread to answer no, until I looked up Deus Ex Machina.

"is a plot device in which a person or thing appears "out of the blue" to help a character to overcome a seemingly insolvable difficulty"

I have used this several times, without even knowing what it was called. I appreciate this now, thanks for the thread Brushfire.
