Graceful Charity: Discussion

Recommended Posts

...It's not a +1, you forgot to count that you also lose Graceful itself.

And it is banned because it's a staple. It's basically, "when you draw this card, you can choose any of the other top 3 cards of your Deck instead" and you also get the chance to have more than 1 of the top cards of your Deck and just lose something from from your hand.

Oh, and it works with Darkworlds or other things that activate/are targeted in the Graveyard.

There's never a reason to NOT run it, it's instantly going to make your hand better. Konami generally bans cards which are going to be in EVERY Deck without fail and don't add anything to the game. This is one of those.

So, I'm gonna view its bad counterpart...

Effect of its counterpart:

Both players add cards discarded to the Graveyard by the effect of a Spell Card that was activated this turn to their hands.

That's Disgraceful Charity. You could use it.

But it doesn't exist. I wonder if a card with the same effect exists.

....And maybe something like:

Discard 2 cards to activate. Draw 3 cards. You can only activate 1 "Graceful Charity" per turn.

Still overly splashable.

"lose the worst half of your starting hand for a re-draw. Oh, and you can dump things that work in the Graveyard."

Draw 3 cards' date=' then shuffle 2 Spell cards in your hand back into your deck. If you cannot, shuffle your whole hand back into your deck.[/quote']

Better?

If Lightsworns Deckout' date=' you're playing them really badly =/

Lightsworns end games even faster than most Decks this format/

I've made LS deck-out and it was by far the funniest thing ever.

OT: It's just a bit too much of a draw engine. Have 2 cards in your hand, activate this, drop what you don't want and you're goo. This card's whole discarding method is pretty useful too. So it isn't necessarily OP'ed, it's just that it doesn't benefit the game nor add anything to it.

You did your math WRONG!

3 (because of the effect)

-2 (because of the effect)

---

1

-1 (because it's effect has been used and and it's not a (∞) spell so it goes to the Graveyard)

---

0

+1 (your draw phase)

----

1

Wait, what? Eather your right (because it figures to 1) or your wrong (because you skipped a few things).

Unless you main Needle Worm and stuff, no, you didn't make them deck out. They made themselves deck out.

On-topic: Really nothing to discuss here. Especially since even more stuff that works in the grave has been released since Graceful Charity was banned. Mezuki, Plaguespreader Zombie, Treeborn Frog, Malicious, Necro Gardna, and themed revival. Not to mention this card is pretty much a staple. You absolutely run it in every deck, no questions asked.
