Ever get kicked in the balls in a way that made you fall down an up escalator at an only slightly faster speed than the escalator itself into a mud puddle at the bottom only to immediately get kicked in the face with an iron boot? That is what Ninja Gaiden is like for any system
Flame Dragon
You don't need that many lives in most games nows. Still the code is very epic since it was the first cheat code EVER.

I didn't know it was the first cheat code. But I know it was first used in Gradius for NES.
OmegaWave
I first learned this code while playing Gradius III on SNES as a little tyke. In that game (And pretty much ALL Gradius games), using that code gives you every ship power up at once. However, in this particular game, Konami wanted to screw with you. If you do the "Left, Right, Left, Right" part using the D-Pad, it looks like it worked correctly. However, when you un-pause the game, you self-destruct. I did that the first time and I was like "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU---". It was my last life too :( But then I learned that you need to use the L and R buttons instead. But ya, this code needs to be used more often. I liked the idea of using the code to unlock the Gradius-Themed Booster Pack in the Tag Force games. Jericho
Using the Konami Code in a Yu-Gi-Oh game should give you all the cards. Or at least make you not have to pay to put the code off the card into the game.

Kailyn Leona Kyosuke
if not, then playing Enemy Controller and THEN reciting the code should be a hidden victory condition. >.>
Luis2
Gradius doesn't let you use the code in the hard difficulties. Only on easy or normal.
