We all dream of having powers, of having a control over ourselves that can ultimately affect the world around us. Everyone has dreamt of flying, of reading someone’s thoughts or even being invisible to hide from them. What if we had those gifts? What would we do with them? Would we fight for the greatest of goods or fall to the darkness we carry within us?

 

There are four major cities: Aeon, Darkvale, Monroe, and Shadow Pine. Within each city is one school, an Academy of sorts for those who are gifted, or cursed, with abilities beyond the norm of homo sapiens. Some people have abilities that make their appearance far different, often leaving them cast out from supposedly civil societies. Others, however, are fortunate enough to hide themselves from judgment. Every ten years, the Finals are held for those willing to try. The Finals are a series of tests that determine one’s ability to communicate with teammates, overcome obstacles, and deal with situations that could very well end their lives. Students come from every Academy to Aeon where they are individually tested and then formed into a team as small as three or as large as over a dozen. This team becomes The Guardians, swearing on their lives to defend Aeon and the surrounding cities from evil and all it brings from the shadows.

It is now the tenth year, time for the new team to be formed. The number of applicants is larger than ever, but is the talent dim? Patience, it seems, is now a virtue that must be held.

Aeon: The largest city of them all, Aeon has the most diverse group of people. Having both a concrete jungle and quiet residential areas, there seems to be a niche for everyone’s tastes. The Academy is located towards the outskirts of town. Being a large city, it certainly has it’s share of crime.

 

Darkvale: A very quiet town during the day, but a bright and shining city at night, Darkvale is a popular location for people getting away for the weekend or looking for a wild night. This has caused significant problems as thieves prey on the out of towners.

 

Monroe: Boasting on being the wealthiest of the four cities, Monroe prides itself on having “Elite heroes”. Rumors have it that these heroes are actually wealthy people who have paid to be genetically enhanced. Monroe has a very low physical crime rate, but white collar crimes are quite high.

 

Shadow Pine: A rural town far away from the others, Shadow Pine is often the hideout for escaped convicts and the place where many go to bury a body. However, they are desperately working to control the crime rate and it seems to be paying off, although at a slow rate.

 

Added Notes:

 

Generally those who live at the Academies are those who’s appearances are unfairly judged by those on the outside. Runaways are fairly common as well. The Academy is usually an “extra curricular” type of place for most teens and young adults. Many fear being found out, and therefore come in secret. Your character certainly does not have to live at the Academy.

 

Your powers are limited only by your imagination. You can have someone from another planet, someone who is genetically altered, someone who went through a chemical spill, etc.

 

All Academy "students" must sign a piece of paper stating that they will not reveal anyone's identity. Some people choose to not hide themselves, while others wear masks. It is up to them.

1. No god-modding

I would hope that this is a universal rule and goes without saying, but I always like to just make sure it’s out there. Please do not control someone else’s character without their permission. Do not kill or inflict heavy damage upon them without their agreement and say so. If any god-modding is to be done, it will be minimal and it will be performed by me, only for reasons of story progression. Please tell us if someone has given you the permission to control their character for a certain amount of time.

 

2. No all powerful characters

This is a very simple rule, though in a modern fantasy setting, can be so tempting to break. This is an basic leveled role-play, but I expect you all to have a degree of knowledge on how to control your character and their dynamics. To keep all powerful characters and tendencies to a minimum, I have created this next rule.

 

3. A character sheet must be made for each individual character and approved by me

This is to help with consistencies in the story and to keep people from making bizarre and far fetched characters. For example, you would not have a fifteen year old skilled to the expert degree of their ability. If you have any questions, please PM me.

 

4. Make a commitment

If you’re joining this thread, please make sure your schedule allows you to post at least once or twice a week. Since we’re starting this during January, time for some people’s exams and other things, it may be best for some of you to join during your breaks or when you aren’t so busy. I completely understand illnesses and family emergencies, and can put a thread on hold for you or god mod if you desperately need that to happen.

 

5. Respect your fellow writers

Do not belittle your fellow writers, mock their posts, or offer a critique of their post without their consent. Do not harass your fellow writers for posts, either. If I hear about someone constantly harassing someone for a reply to a degree which makes them feel uncomfortable, I can and will get you kicked out of the thread and possibly report you to the mods for being a monkeyfaceflamer.

 

6. Enjoy yourself

Modern Fantasy opens up doors to a very dynamic world, but that’s what creates so many possibilities and opportunities for fun. It is world where you can create so many different types of characters and play as far as your imagination will take you. Relax and let your creativity flow.

History: His parents died when he was young. His mother had holy blood while his father was an assasin and had 0.1 demon blood witch they passed on.. He wishes to avenge his parents deaths and fears of loseing those he knows. He doesnt whant to lose anyone and feels lonely.

Twin Holy Pistals - Must have Angel Blood to even hold. They fire Holy Bulets witch can be charged by Zeke's angel blood.

Holy Knife - Couted in angel's blood witch enhanses its sharpness and if cuts something, it is injected with Angel Blood, wich paralizes tenmporaly.

 

Angel Form - Zeke grows wings and his agilaty/healing spead increases. The angel blood's power in him doubles in streangth increasing his pstals streangth. (Doesnt Know it)

Bullet Charge - Zeke fires out bullets at 4 different levels.

1 - A regular piersing bullet

2 - It firs through some metals and stuns people when hit.

3 - Fires a lazer. Must be in Angel form to use.

4 - Only usable when the angel blood in Zeke boils and takes over. ??? effects.

5 - Only usable in Unholy Rage. Disasteras ??? effects.

 

Unholy rage - Only activate when Zeke feels a great loos or negative emotion like the death of a friend or thr loss of something precios to him. Zeke's 0.1 percent Demon Blood (His dads side) takes over. His wings turn black and he is stronger, faster and darker. (Doesnt Know it)

 

 

Other: Can enter and exite angel form as he pleases but needs the streangth to do it. Only when he knows it.

Personality: Shy and timid, but prone to fits of rage. Easily scared.

 

History: Laurryn grew up in a bad part of town. Her parents were killed when she was only 4 years old, and she was the only witness. The killer was never prosecuted because no one would believe the story of a mentally traumatized 4 year old girl.

Laurryn doesn't fight in her normal form, she usually tries to avoid conflict when its at all possible. Her powers activate she feels strong negative emotions. (i.e. fear, rage, sadness)

 

When her powers are activated, Laurryn gains the power to manipulate shadows into the form of any of 3 weapons of her choosing. The effects of the weapons vary depending on what the weapon is.

Whip: Whatever is hit becomes 20x heavier

Pistol: fires shadow bullets (Small balls of pure shadow) at 3 power levels

1) drains .5% of the power of anyone it hits. only hits one living thing and fades

2) can hit three living things. Immobilizes the target for 6 seconds

3) fires 10 bullets. they form a circle around Laurryn and then shoot outward. They send whatever they hit 1 mile away from Laurryn but this level causes her to revert to her original form and pass out for a full day.

2 Daggers: one in each hand, by stabbing into shadow-covered ground, Laurryn can summon twin shadow dragons for a total of 17 seconds. The dragons devour all inorganic things they touch, and when they touch living things, they (not the dragons, obviously) collapse for 6 hours.

 

Other: Laurryn has no control over her powers, though she is aware she has them. She retains some memories from when they are activated, though the majority are purely auditory, and she usually attributes the few visual memories to bad dreams

Personality: Secretive to everyone but his friends(which of, he dosen't have). doesn't smile a lot. confident. doesn't like it when people brag. kind, but not really kind. he aims to discover his purpose and remember his past...

 

History:

No one knows much about him, including himself. He just appeared one night at the academy, claiming his name was Dante Hawk, and that he be trained to use his unnatural powers for good. Over his years at the academy people began to notice he didn't age or grow tired. He spends most of his time in the library or arena (if those are in the academy?). But with no clue to who he really is, Dante is going to become a gaurdian to search the citys for information about his past...

 

 

Weapon of Choice/Abilities:

He can control sand, crystal, and fire. He uses transmutation (changing one matter into another, water into fire, fire into glass, glass into steel. That sort of stuff). He can turn himself into sand. When angered he can fire bolts of twilight energy, and create anything out of nothing.

He prefers to act before thinking and tackle situations head on instead of finding ways around them. He also loves telling jokes, most of which are bad. He also loves chasing cats andeating meat.

 

History: Not a really interesting life has lead him to being as calm as he is. His dad and mom own a bakery in monroe and tought him to cook at a young age. Neither of them had any powers so he didnt expect to have any either. He discovered he did when he was around 4 when he began experiencing strange things. His sense of smell and hearing became much better then the average humans, he could run extremely fast and he had a strange urge to pee on fire hydrants. He was more dog then person.

 

Weapon of Choice/Abilities:

Uses his nails which are almost like claws. Can also bite people with his enlogated canine teeth.

Enchanced senses.

Can transform into a werewolf-like state but he doesnt know it yet.

Appearance: His body is not what it once was. His loer body has been transformed into a spiders body, and his upper body is covered by a black, iron-like exoskelleton. The only thing visible on his face is eight red-glowing eyes and a mouth with black tusks and sharp teeth. The only thing that still looks human on him is his long, dirty, grey hair.

 

Personality: He's an individual of great powerthirst, and he does NOT like to be a minion, and looks down on everything, even those stronger then himself (but he thinks that he's the mightiest creature in existance) His personality is cold and evil, and he doesn't have any problem with killing innocent people, as he thinks they are "Not worthy for 'him'".

 

History: At a young age he was a nice and caring person who everyone loved and liked, but at his Sixteenth birthday his parents was murdered by a secret organization. He tried to live for himself for two years, but the life on teh streets wasn't an easy one, and at the age of eighteen he joined a cult that took care of him, but he was forced to honor the Spider God; Arachod, as a price. After about two months at the Spider God's duty he found out that the cult was the same ones that commited the crime of killing his parents as an offer to Arachod, and he prayed to the Spider God to bring them back, but instead the god granted him the power to avenge his parents murder as his chosen champion. However, this drove him to madness, and after erradicating the complete cult he started living for himself, and during his lonely life his body started to transform to what it is now, and he is now carrying out his master, Arachod's, greatest wish: "Erradicate all of the two-leggers!"

 

Weapon of Choice/Abilities: His abilities include the ability to control and create cold and ice, and also to open up the plate on his chest to summon small, man-eating bugs to attack his enemies. He also, like all spiders, is able to climb walls and to spin webs to stop his enemies. His weapon of choice is two big blades attached to his arms which he uses to slash and slice his enemies, but he can also use his eight legs to fight.

 

Other: Because of his transformation, he has lost the ability to speak the human tongue properly, so he usually expresses himself with either hissing or "k-k-k-k-k" sounds.

Personality: Very Passionate when it comes to his work. Strict but he tends to have fun while teaching his students. When it comes to his enemies and someone who is trying to kill or hurt a friend or one of his students he becomes very cruel and ruthless. He is a very smart person with an IQ of just over 200, which comes in handy when needing to be strategic in his planning of stuff.

 

History: Unknown other then being Born with Gravitational Manipulation, and being the head master at the academy. Most if not all will be revealed during RP

 

Weapon of Choice/Abilities:

Hayate has the ability to enhance his appearance which allows him to Fully manipulate an gravitational force in the universe. His ultimate gravity based attack, is one that involves using a gravitational implosion in its ability.

 

Psychokinesis: Here is a list of what Psychokinesis's abilities are;

 

1: Telekinesis; movement of matter (micro and macro; move, lift, agitate, vibrate, spin, bend, break, or impact)

 

2: Speed up or slow down the naturally occurring vibrations of atoms in matter to alter temperature,[38] possibly to the point of ignition if combustible (also known as pyrokinesis when speeding up vibrations, and cryokinesis when slowing them down).

 

3: Self levitation (rising in the air unsupported, flying).

 

4: Object deformation (including metal softening and bending).

 

5: Influencing events (sports, gambling, election, prolongation of life, etc.).

 

6: Biological healing.

 

7: Teleportation (disappearing and reappearing elsewhere).

 

8: Phasing through matter.

 

9: Transmutation of matter.

 

10: Shape-shifting.

 

11: Energy shield (force field).

 

12: Control of magnetism.

 

13: Control of photons (light waves/particles).

 

14: Thoughtform projection aka telepathic projection (a physically perceived person, animal, creature, object, ghostly entity, etc., created in the mind and projected into three-dimensional space and observable by others; for thought images allegedly placed on film, see Thoughtography).

OOC: This RP has officially started, as of right now everyone that has joined the academy is currently on the boat. Start their just as its pulling up to drop everyone off. Some of you may like to be older students or brand new that's totally up to you.

 

IC: Hayate had just entered the Academy as he walked through the halls. He turned at the first hallway and continued until he came to the last door on the right. "Another day in Paradise," Hayate exclaimed with excitement. "The new students should be arriving soon by Boat." He then placed an item in his pocket before picking up a list of names and exiting the building.

 

As Hayate exited the building he noticed the boat pulling up to the shore, "Right on time just as usual," he muttered to himself. "I wonder what kinda show I should give them this year?" Hayate headed for the dock as the boat pulled in to the port.

If he's in the tournament he must be an academy student, unless he plans to disrupt it or can prove his abilities to my character who is the teacher in the RP then he may be able to enter a a guest!!
