I would suggest reading some drawing tutorials, as all of your work seems below-par.

The thing I find most interesting here is the strange proportions and shapes of the drawing, with pieces jotting out at seemingly random angles. It looks almost abstract, instead of looking like a monster for a YuGiOh card. I would really encourage you to go outside, and take the time to draw what you see in its entirety, making sure to get the shading and such perfect. Then I would suggest taking the time to draw some various living things, studying the way their shadows work, and the way that various textures look as lines. This drawing looks completely unrealistic, and you can do a lot better.

Colored hand doesn't look right. But thats just me.

I like it.

Because he has only shaded the red colouring and the eye?

It just looks odd.

It might look better once I have shaded it' date=' though.

What looks odd about it?

[/quote']

It's the fingers. They look odd, it makes it look like the hand is screwed up.

[b']Below par... your are beating around the bush a little.[/b]

The thing I find most interesting here is the strange proportions and shapes of the drawing, with pieces jotting out at seemingly random angles. I see your point, but I need help making non-realistic things look more identifiable. For example, an over-sized shoulderblade needs to look that way, not something random and abstract, and I'm still learning on how to accomplish this. :|

I would really encourage you to go outside, and take the time to draw what you see in its entirety, making sure to get the shading and such perfect. As great as an idea as that is, (no sarcasm here) I am not entirely finished shading yet, so more shades may make things a little more identifiable.

This drawing looks completely unrealistic, and you can do a lot better. It isn't supposed to be realsitic, exactly, not all art on the cards are realistic, unless you are referring to shading, here.

Thank you for giving the most suggestions - they are very helpful and great to consider.

I believe that if I can make you see what it is supposed to be/look like, you may be able to help me with the shading more then, as it is hard to understand what to shade where in an abstract picture. ;)

YuGiOh cards, even when designed to look cartoon-like, are shaded realistically, the textures employed are purposeful, and the quality of art is high. I'm not kidding about the going outside and drawing, during the time that I drew a lot, I found it to be the most useful way of practicing.

Texture is definately something that I need to work on a lot, so I will be. ^_^

I appreciate you sharing your personal experience of how to learn shading easier, I'll be sure to use it myself, even though I might have to wait until the weekend to find time to do it.

Thank you for all of your help, it is much appreciated. ;)
