I just don't see the need if I'm talking to the person who posted above me. If they're a few posts up, I'm talking to two people at the same time, or if I have to make multiple points, then I quote someone. And people actually get a little annoyed with it on another forum I go on. I never do it anyway, so I'm fine.

 

And if someone ends up posting while I'm posting, I just put, "Directed towards *insert member here*".
