I've just realised that Castform can be an utter beast if you train it correctly.

How so? I'm interested...

And I've just hit the 460 mark on my Pokedex.

Nice job! What Pokemon did you catch to put you at 460? I'm still at 456, mainly because I don't go to any special events to get the exclusive Legendaries, and my brother and I rarely get to trade to get Pokemon like Slowking and Politoed.

Right' date=' you have a Modest Nature, holding a Heat Rock with EVs in Sp. Atk and Speed.

Moves: Weather Ball, Flamethrower, Solarbeam and Sunny Day.

Activate Sunny Day, Solarbeam can be used every turn.

Flamethrower (Power 95) gets STAB (Power 140) and Weather Bonus (Power 155)

Weather Ball doubles in strength (Power 100), gets STAB (Power 150) and Weather Bonus (Power 165)

So, you have a Fire-Type Pokemon that has three moves, all at least Power 120, Accuracy 100% and no drawbacks for eight turns!

OR

You could replace the Heat Rock with Wise Glasses to reduce the number of turns to 5, but to increase Solarbeam to Power 130, Flamethrower to Power 170 and Weather Ball to Power 180.

A Pinsir in Pal Park transferred from LeafGreen. It just took me a long time to get one on LG.

And I only have two event legendaries (Regigigas and Shaymin...) since I'm in Britain, and events seem to run out of steam by the time they reach America.

If you compare the number of Korean events and UK events, its almost 10 to 1.

Oh believe me, I know! When I walk to my house, I can almost always see a Pokemon Event Tent up on the side of the street. Little kids always crowd the tent. XD

And your strategy with Castform would be pretty beastly, except it's stats let it down. (Base 70 in every stat.) If you set it up with a Sunny Day beforehand, and then send it out with a Choice Scarf, then it might work. :)

Well, if you do see one and have your DS on you, go near to but not actually join the queue to get in; because the wi-fi zone is a circle, not a rectangle; so if they're giving away a Pokemon via wi-fi, you can pass by and get it easily. (How do you think I got my Shaymin?)

Castform's stats are very low, and it's a shame because Castform's the only one who could pull off such a stunt since Roserade is the only other Pokemon to learn Weather Ball, and it can't learn any Fire moves for obvious reasons.
