DL
ANYway, Black, you're wrong. Satire is making fun of something TO ENCOURAGE CHANGE. Also: and pairing...
El Make
You would do that DL......... And I thought satire was researched comedy. D:
DL
Nope. Satire, since the olden days of the Reneissance (spell?) has been to encourage sense. Alot of people call making fun of stuff satire, when it really isn't.
Shadow Zero
Is that so, Link-kun?ANYway' date=' Black, you're wrong. Satire is making fun of something TO ENCOURAGE CHANGE. El Make
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/satire Don't argue with the dictionary! I've learned all the words I know from that place....
DL
the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly, etc. That IS to encourage change. -_- @Zero - Yes, I would. And that's simply because I couldn't find an Athena pic. because she beat Hinagiku badly in epicness.

DL
I don't get what you mean by researched comedy...
El Make
Deus, wtf..... DL, it means, in another sense, comedy that people have put research into. For example, the Simpson's, though most people think it's just stupid stuff that make you laugh, is a satire. If you pay attention instead of laughig at Homer and such, you'll notice that a lot of the jokes/mentionings are actually well researched and have real life connections to current or past events. DL
...That's not satire. That's researched comedy. Although Simpsons DOES have some satire.

El Make
How many times do I have to tell you, satire (whether you like it or not) = researched comedy. I'm not saying your wrong, but that's another meaning for satire.
DL
I just don't see that as satire, but meh, whatever works. Besides... why are we even arguing this anyway?
Shadow Zero
No, he's wrong, at least in the sense where he is constantly trying to convince us that satire =/= researched comedy, when it actually does.
