Happy birthday!

I meant that his father was yelling at Von Mises...

Here is the actual stories of everyone.

[spoiler=Ludwig Erhard]

Born: 4 Feb 1987

Actually went to war and was crippled in the Battle of Ypres in 1916 (he was 19, where as in the story he is 16). Studied economics after his return from war, married, and inherited his father in law's company until it's collapse in 1925. He returned to work as a market-investor until the second stock exchange collapse. He was then hired as a researcher for the Nazi party. Fighting a losing war, he started peace demonstrations, and was fired from his job. He was taken under Carl Groedeler, whom he shared his work with.

After the war, he published his studies and was appointed Director of Economics for Germany and amazed the economic world by finally "setting" it right and performing what is known today as "The German Economic Miracle". He was elected as chancellor of Germany 1963. He died in 1977, aged 80, he was a devout Christian, and he founded the Christian Democratic Union.

[spoiler=Ludwig (Lionel) Von Mises]

Born: 29 Sept 1881

Born in nobility, he was the famous economist of the "Austrian School of Economics". A decorated veteran from World War 1. He was never in Germany, but had many influences there. In 1909, he was elected to the Austrian chamber of commerce as an economist.

Fearing for his life after the Anschluss (German annexation of Austria), he escaped to Switzerland and started teaching. When Germany overran France in 1940, he fled to New York City. He was the chief influence for the economist Friedrich Von Hayek, and died in New York in 1972, aged 79.

[spoiler= John Maynard Keynes]

Born: 5 Jun 1883

He is only 18 years old by 1918, where he should be 25. Anyways, he is the other person who I based the main character on. Born to an educated family in Cambridge, he later grew up and attended Kings College economic school. He made a fortune on the stock market, only to lose it all in the 1929 crash.

Highly critical of the treaty of Versailles, he almost made a point to defend the Germans, saying "Germany is like a domino, if it falls, we all do." in his book, the Economic Consequences of the Peace. Having his nightmare come true, he founded the Keynesian theory of macroeconomics that brought US and England out of the depression.

He was homosexual for most of his early life, he later founded the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund so the depression could never happen again. He died prematurely aged 62 in 1946.
