20% seems rather much. When a mod makes a decision, there are not thank you's. There are no "Good job"

But when they do something contrivertial, it's all "DEATH TO THE MODS"

Only admins get respect from members, simply because they are more or less un-touchable in their eyes. While normal mods are able to be demoted so easily.

Yes. Rinne. I wouldn't be as mad if YCM and Falling Pizza would check the mods out more. Rinne is very "Holier than thou"

He does his job tho. I don't agree with some punishments, but, he gets the job done, and solves the problems. He just has a horrible way of stating it.

Yeah, but what you gonna do about the infectious stupidity of various individuals? I think the members view the admins more like "Generous Creators" of the site they so care for. In turn this gives them more respect. Then the mods, who do most of the work and interact with particular individuals, are viewed as evil people who want to ruin everyone's fun.

EDIT: darnit, late response again. (oh well)

Fact is, that is true.

I, like the other mods, have done my job as best I can. YCMaker and Pizza are just plain silent. They NEVER post. We normal mods are always talking to you all, and for some reason, WE are the ones that are chastized.

The cruel irony is that because you interact with the members it is natural for them to be angry at you. There's no point at getting mad at an admin, they're either never around, or there's no way the person could ever affect them. The simple fact that the members regularly see mods is the reason they get angry at them; they know they can get a reaction.

It's very stupid how the whole system works, but anything different would fail miserably. Humans being humans just can't get along and get mad when people are placed above them with no "apparent" cause. People don't like the "Because he's/she's a mod" line.

I think this thread should turn into a club centered around peaceably interacting with the mods, just an idea.

I guess' date=' it's because you talk to us. The more we interact, the more that can go wrong.

Ya. But it's our job to be around and interact with you all. We have to know whats going on and all. We have to be in the know.

Yeah that would be the irony. Things would be worse if the mods were as inactive as the admins but having them around makes people horribly angry at them. Many ignorant members do not realize this though.

So if the valiant alliance really wants to make the site better, i think it should focus on normal members trying to interact, but also stay respectful, with mods. That would be the only thing I see to change the situation; regular friendly interaction.

Personally, I see the very best way to interact with the mods and get your voice heared is to simply talk to us.

Any issue at all, we are here to help.

If you see a problem, don't wait for us to find it, we do alot of stuff, we might miss it. If you tell us about it, it's alot more likely that it'll be taken care of.

If something is seriously wrong, tell us, and we will be sure to talk about it ^_\\\

EDIT: No. Being a mod is not a job you can take just because it makes you cool. It's crap at times.

And..I CAME BEFORE THAT NAME STEALER DX

Nah, don't be sorry, usually, when I do an XD or DX face, it's a joke or something you shoulden't take to seriously.

Now see . . . this is what the club is all about. Arguing with Mods without the fear of getting banned, discussing the web site, and having one place where people can come and state their problems so we can send it to the mods [because its my popular belief that most people don't know many mods and are afraid to speak to them].

In all honesty, I want this "club" to be the premer area where mods and people can come to talk about what it troubeling them and have others give help. Some mods wont support this for, lack of a better phrase, fear of loosing power. But I think most will enjoy the extra help we are offering. Never once did I plan on actually overthrowing the YCMaker system and make myself to "all supereme ruler" because 1) Its nuts 2) Almost impossible 3) I don't have the time to deal with everyone

Being a mod can be a thankless job sometimes, but other times it can be more than rewarding when you help someone new or someone in alot of trouble. And yet, I still aspire to be a mod so I can help people.
