Wizarus
Some people I know were arguing about this, and I wanted to get different opinions about the subject. Is it better to draw more cards and refresh your hand (I.E. Allure of Darkness), or better to have a search card which guarentee's what card you are getting from your deck(I.E. E-Emergency Call.) This is excluding Morphing Jar, since it obviously provides more advantage than most other searches. Please give a reason as to why you choose one over the other. -Griffin
Some searchers are better than some draw cards, some draw cards are better than some searchers. It's like saying, "do you want to lower your opponent's monster's ATK or increase your own monster's ATK", they are two things with similar objectives achieved in different ways. If a card had the choice between "draw 1 card" and "add 1 "x" card from your Deck to your hand", then the second option is clearly better because the first is the same but without the power to choose, but search cards tend to have bigger drawbacks. For example, look at Golden Sarco against Upstart Goblin, Upstart gives the card intimidately, it's downside of 1000 LP advantage is small compared to the wait, but Sarco lets you get the exact card you want, making them playable in different Decks. GenzoTheHarpist
Depends on the deck, really.
Sephiroth_The_Legend
dependant on what style of deck you run.personally i like both. search get out the guarantee and then draw, so i dont draw into my guarantee. (Stratos then Allure for example)
shadowferret
Personally, I prefer draw.Of course, I'm not a meta-player, so it just might be my style of playing. But I'm also more of a Spell and Trap player than Monster Effect player, and there are no good cards for searching out generic Spells, except Gold Sarcophagus, which is slow as hell. >_>
Flame Dragon
Comes down mainly to the deck you run. I like searchers mainly because I play Zombies and it with Goblin my deck gains a lot of momentum.
Toffee.
IMO, Searchers are betterDraw cards are usually archtype specific, where as Searchers tend to be more splashable
~ P O L A R I S ~
Often both. I tend to favour drawing though, since many cards can't be searched. Morphing Jar's hardly a searcher btw.
Captain Lawless
draw can get you a lot of cards you can't search, like generic traps, spells, and good cards without recruiters.Recruitment does have viable forms tho, in heroes, you run e-call + rota.zombies have Goblin Zombies, plants have a couple (that are never used, and LFB doesn't count). again, what you run. Lazer Yoshi
I'd probably say Search is better, since you're getting what you want; not just drawing a card and seeing what happens.
Polycarp
Would it be ok to now change the topic from a question of which is better to a question of What Searchers are actually available? It seems the first question has already been answered and I don't feel like starting a new thread =/

Tickle Me Emo
I prefer draw power over searching. Idk I just prefer drawing 2 off of Allure than searching out, say, my Dark Armed via Gold Sarco. Im wierd I know...
iAmNateXero
There is nothing weird about it. I prefer to search because at that point, im not leaving anything to chance. Its a guaranteed card when I need it (or as close to.) Drawing cards is still good.
Sephiroth_The_Legend
draw v search is so dependant on circumstance.if i need a card, like a particular one. ill take a search any day..but if im chancing it... or i just want to further my advantage, ill take a draw card

blaze.
I think it all depends on the situation you are in. If you need a certain card, search. If you just need SOMETHING, draw.

Dark_Armed_Zombie
I search to thin and get what I can and then draw to have a higher chance of getting what I need. Seeing as this is what most meta decks do, I think it is a safe bet to say, this is one of the better strats to make a consistent and fast deck. But alas, it all depends on the deck you run. Zombies run meta like, so you can run it like meta, where as Gadgets usually don't, they prefer searchers to gain and keep hand advantage, especially if they run Trag
