In a fun way? He wasn't saying anything about fun when he was in his second duel and got owned. And if we apply the last sentence to Rex, we can apply it to everyone.

 

Not only that, but Ryuk was seeking a way to cure himself of his boredom, correct? If so, Rex is nothing like him.
