Final Fantasy I

 

Warrior of Light - What other choice is there?

 

Cosmos - FFI and Dissidia are directly connected plot-wise, so she could technically be considered an FFI character.

 

Garland - The obvious choice.

 

Chaos - For the same reasons as Cosmos.

 

 

Final Fantasy II

 

Firion - He's the main character, obviously.

 

Maria - Another one of the 3 main characters. Guy is a dumbass who can talk to beavers. So Maria is a much better choice.

 

Emperor Mateus - He's the main villain of the game.

 

Leon - He has a close connection to both Firion and Maria, and he spends much of the game working for the Emperor. Although he is a playable character at a few points in the game.

 

 

Final Fantasy III

 

Onion Knight (Ingus?) - Keep him, but at least give him the name of one of the three male characters from the DS remake. Ingus looks the most like him though.

 

Female Onion Knight (Refia) - Again, another DS version character. And the only female one. But I like her best anyway. Plus this way, the jobs they change into in their EX forms can be split.

 

Cloud of Darkness - Final boss blah blah blah. Plus she's sexy.

 

Xande - He's the main villain of the game. The Cloud of Darkness wasn't even seen or mentioned until after he died.

 

 

Final Fantasy IV

 

Cecil - *Coughmaincharactercough*

 

Rydia - funk KAIN I LIKE RYDIA BETTER.

 

Golbez - Obvious reasons.

 

Zemus - Kain technically works better for the plot...but really in my opinion, only if Golbez is controlling him. And he wouldn't be doing that without Zemus. So having 3 villains from one game would just be a bit stupid. That's why I said Rydia and Zemus as new additions.

 

 

Final Fantasy V

 

Bartz - I WANT TO PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE.

 

Galuf - I'm pretty sure he dies, but whatever. He has a connection to Exdeath as far as I know. *Hasn't beaten FFV* But if not him, then either Faris or Lenna.

 

Exdeath - THE VOID.

 

Gilgamesh - Do not question me. Gilgamesh is badass. Plus he's a major villain in this game.

 

 

Final Fantasy VI

 

Locke - Easy choice here. One of the game's most important characters. He also has a very strong connection to Celes, who I'm also including.

 

Terra - In my opinion, Terra is the main character of the first half of FFVI, while Celes is the main character of the second half. (If you played it, you'd know why. Especially since finding Terra is completely optional.) I'll have more to say about Terra in a minute...

 

Celes - Okay yes, I know I said having 3 villains from FFIV would be unfair. But FFVI doesn't really have any main villains other than Kefka. Emperor Gestahl can't fight, so funk him. Now the way I see it, there are 2 ways to do this. First, Kefka could have Terra under the control of his slave crown like she was in the beginning of the game. Second, Celes could still be working for Kefka for whatever reason. (Either she feels like she owes him for giving her the power to use magic, or because she has yet to turn good.) Personally, I'd rather have Celes as the villain. It would make for a better plot.

 

Kefka - Either of the above scenarios require Kefka, plus he's the only real villain in the game.

 

 

Final Fantasy VII

 

Cloud - Main character. Duh.

 

Tifa - ... What was that? Oh sorry, I was too busy staring at Tifa's giant boobs.

 

Sephiroth - Obviously~

 

Jenova - Okay, FFVII is another game lacking good human-like villains. But Jenova is close enough I guess. (We already have a funking tree as a playable character, why not a deformed alien?)

 

 

Final Fantasy VIII

 

Squall - Main character and all that sheet.

 

Rinoa - BECAUSE SHE NEEDS TO APPEAR IN ANOTHER GAME. SERIOUSLY.

 

Ultimecia - She was already in Dissidia, and having Rinoa would be an even better reason for her to come back.

 

Seifer - He would serve as Ultimecia's "Knight", and Squall's rival.

 

 

Final Fantasy IX

 

Zidane - Who else would I pick anyway?

 

Vivi - Ehh, from what I know, he has a strong connection to Kuja which would be good for the plot.

 

Kuja - Because I said so.

 

??? - Seriously, I really don't know anyone else from FFIX. I'll get back to you on this one.

 

 

Final Fantasy X

 

Tidus - Yeah yeah, main character we get it.

 

Jecht - He'd be the best choice for Tidus.

 

Yuna/Seymour or Auron/Yunalesca - Okay, this is a bit of a tough choice... On one hand, Seymour is badass. But I already included Rydia as a summoner, and Yuna is also a white mage. Aside from Holy, I can't think of any spells for her to use. At least Rydia can use black magic. Having Seymour would be pointless without Yuna though, so my other choice is Auron and Yunalesca. Auron is again awesome, but he might play a bit too much like Cloud. Yunalesca might be an interesting character to include though, but it would require having Auron. I really can't decide between those two.

 

 

Final Fantasy XII

 

Ashe - Vaan is NOT the main character, I don't care what any of you say.

 

Vayne - Vayne IS the main villain though, so obviously he'd be in it.

 

Balthier - Because he's the most badass character in the game. By far.

 

Cid - Seriously. He'd be so awesome to play as. But having him would require Balthier. (Who should still be in it anyway.) As an alternative, you could technically have Basch and Gabranth, but whatever. MAYBE Basch could replace Ashe, but I like Ashe better anyway.

 

 

 

 

I didn't include FFXI or any of the other games like Tactics or Crstal Chronicles, or whatever other games they've made.

I was bored with life and decided to pass some time by checking on you lot. And I must say, I was surprised to find actual Squeenix discussion going on. Anyway, I like Lar's topic, so I'll contribute.

 

I pretty much agree with Lar's list, but I'll add these:

 

FFI - I can't imagine actually playing as Cosmos or Chaos, so I'm thinking maybe include another "of Light", possibly one of the female ones, who has no memories like WoL, and so finds kinship with him. Her attack style can be more speed/recovery oriented, as WoL is more strength and magic based.

As for a villain, I dunno. Liche? xD

 

For FFIII, Ok should be Luneth - his alternate costume is designed to look like Luneth anyway.

 

FFV - What's wrong with Butz? xD

 

FFVI - YES.

 

FFVII - I dunno. Rather than Jenova, they COULD go with Kadaj. Or more realistically, Genesis (bleh). I'd say Hojo if he could actually fight on his own.

 

FFIX - ... Queen Brahn? xD I got nothing.

 

FFX - The game may have been meh, but X-2 Yuna using Guns is still awesome. Yuna.

I can see Zemus as an NPC instead of a boss unless they decide to do to Zeromus what they did to Exdeath and Ultimecia's EX Modes. I'll go with Kain and not Zemus and make Zemus a main villain alongside Chaos. The again, Zemus is pretty much the same as Cloud of Darkness plotwise, since neither were mentioned until the end of the game was near.

 

I want Genesis because he's awesome, though he'd likely be rather similar to Sephiroth in terms of gameplay. How about Vincent instead of Tifa?

 

Necron from FFIX as another NPC.

No. Tifa is probably the only character in the game that I've listed that doesn't use a weapon or magic of some sort. So of all the characters added, she'd have probably the most unique fighting style.

I think FF7 should have Vincent, CLoud, Sephiroth, and Genesis. This way we have the three FFVII games represented, Vincent could have cool shapeshift attacks coupled with long range bullets (out of all the character listed Vincent is the only one who activle uses shapeshifting powers). Genesis would be human looking and he is a major player in crisis core.

 

IX: Nechron however sucks, ALOT. He is a final boss no one ever talks about until just before you fight him. I think we sould go with Kuja, Zidane, Vivi, and the second Garland here.

 

FFVI the honorable general Leo should be the second villan in a manner much like Golbez. IE he is not evil but still affliated with the wrong people.

 

FFX Should have Yuna in gunner mode coupled with white magic to make a life drain style. Seymour would have a fighting style that revolves around branching traps.

Or we could just get rid of Terra. But even then, if we had General Leo we should have Terra as well.

Her fighting scene in Advent Children was awsome. It's pure hand-to-hand combat~ Yay.

I honestly wouldn't want Genesis in Dissidia. He's one of the worst characters in FF history in my opinion. =/

 

Vincent could be an option, although I prefer Tifa, and if chosen, Weiss could oppose him.

 

Hojo would be a shoe-in if he could use artillery and magic like Doctor Cid.

 

The Second Garland is a good idea for IX, Nex, good call. Though he'd need a new name.

 

As for IV, Zemus is pretty much the only logical choice. =/

 

I think I agree with Leo - Leo, Terra, Celes, and Kefka would be good options. I like Locke, but Leo seems like he could be more interesting plot-wise in a Dissidia game.

 

And remember Lar - Chaos fucks up the timestream everywhere, so Yuna could still have Guns even though he calls Seymour from the dead (which honestly isn't very far-fetched, considering it's Seymour).

 

And for the record, if Rufus was in the game, HE WOULD FIGHT BY SUMMONING PANTHERS.
