Oh no, Final Fantasy just has an increasingly bad Fan Dumb. It's like Naruto, or anything else. The sheer stupidity of a large portion of the fandom creates a horrible stereotype for the fandom as a whole. My guess is that people are using a "decline in quality" of the games to justify why the game sucks, using entirely different games as evidence without waiting for any info on the game itself.

Well I've heard it, but it doesn't mean I have to listen...after hearing the same battle music over and over again I just turn on my Ipod and listen to my own music...especially when I had to grind.

Nomura said that the reason the game was more linear and had less features then the previous games is because the graphics expectations of this generation are extremely high~and making a game on the scale they used to with modern graphics would've taken at least three years longer and is very difficult (towns and such)....it took them 3 and a half to make FFXIII the way it is.

I *ahem* grinded after I *ahem* finished the game so I could *ahem* do the extra missions, you can't *ahem* fight monsters that do *ahem 3k damage a hit with *ahem* 7k health.

 

The game was easy without grinding, go figure.

The general consensus for a lot of Final Fantasy "fans" is that each of them believes every game after a certain point in the series sucks, no matter how good the games really are. No matter what reasoning you use, it won't change.

For most people though, that point is usually directly after either VI or VII.

 

Meaning it's between the VII fanboys and the idiots who think that anything that isn't on the SNES or another older system sucks.

Honestly the only FF game that sucks is XI because it's an MMO and not really FF.
