(un)Official "Gadgets And Technology" Thread

Okay, so it may not be "Official", but, with all these weird threads popping and dropping like a game o' "Whack O' Mole" (-_-), I had a feeling this fourm needed a thread like this. After all, without the computer, we wouldn't be here, ever think of that?

 

I recently found a website that's completly gaga over gadgets, technology and everything "futuristic". Some may ask, what is technology, really? Simple. Technology = the advancement of knowledge to greatly improve one's life. Sure, it's not Webster's definition, but it's mine. Does it make sense? Think about it. Robots and baseball are similar 'cause they are technology. Cornfoozed? Don't sweat it. You're not alone. (And I ain't talking about me.

 

But while we can all talk about how technology is so great, this thread is also up for talking about how stupid companies are to make these certain gadgets and gizmos (Who's wants to sleep in a tent that can hang from a tree?), because we all know, there are many flaws to technological advancements today. (Microsoft? Nintendo? Sony? :lol:)

 

Seriously, with everything people are coming up with nowadays is just getting, well..........I'm not gonna show it. Has a good chance of getting me banned. (And I'm on a ban-free streak![so far]).

 

But anyways, like I said, the human mind is really getting curious on how things work and, if they work at all, how well they affect the community. I mean, you can make life less excting for you if you want. Want to make Guitar Hero crappy? Great! Play it on a Commodore 64. Unleash a whole new world of boredom!

 

So, after taking up a few, um, "clicks", so to speak, I'm going to pass the ball to you. After all, I have so many freeky gadgets and stuff to talk about, you may start thinking "labor-saving devices". Well, um, good luck with that!

 

Long story short, this thread is to talk about anything technological, gadgetoligical, mechanical, futuristical, conceptualistic, and other stuff you, not me, or mostly anybody else, think could really change this world for the better.

what i want to see is a somethign liek the Wii... but it involves leg movement aswell... not just hand movement

 

Has anyone seen The Island and how they played the Xbox? I want soemthign liek that... but soemthing theat can fit inside a living room

I never liked guitar hero, and one of the things that I don't like is how they call the new one " Legends of Rock " then add "Tenacious D" as anything other than a bonus track. Where's the Hendrix and the other legends.

true... you do have a point there... i heard EA is bringing out a similar game called "Rock Band"... apparently you can sing and play drums aswell as play guitar... so it looks not to bad... hoping that it has some good tracks on it

What is it? Simple. A TV, DVD, and satelite control remote. Plus, it's a real soccer ball, so you can kick around the ball, and let the ball fall and let the chanels pick themselves. Unfortunatly, the ball only comes with English soccer logos. (Sorry, Azuh).

 

But, for about $41's not that bad of a rip-off, is it?

Personally, I feel that it's starting to get a bit overrated. All I hear about is Brawl this, and Brawl that.

I best I even know more about rock music than you, and I love it. All of these kids pick up guitar hero and suddenly think their Jimi Hendrix because they can push 5 buttons. But that doesnt change the fact that guitar hero sucks. I play real guitar too, so dont go saying I don't know anything. And you just gave me an excuse to bring this comic out

1) I know, I'm sick and tired of hearing the whole thing is overrated, but I'm also sick and tired of hearing "Hey, dipstick, I got a Wii, and you don't! Ha! Sucks for you, idiot!".

 

My god. And ending one of the suckiest days of my life like this, is NOT healthy for my reputation. Seriously. It's choking over here.

 

2) I don't play guitar hero, well, not anymore, anyway. I did, until I heard Rock Band was comming out a month later. So, I completly "shred" the game, put it down, and now, I'm waiting until life gives me money to get it. I already have a real guitar, but, I'm not really good at it. (Especially when your brother hides the picks on you.)

 

But hey, I'm already a drummer, and where I'm going, well, hmmmmm...................

Brawl is looking awesome. I'm most likely going to camp out at a Best Buy to get it the day it comes out (I'm about 99% it comes out on Sun. and not on Tue. or Wed.) then play it until morning with HORUS and other people.

Yeah. I waited for Final Fantasy XII for about 2-3 years. I beat it in less than a week and I was actually pretty disappointed with it. Then I found out Tales of the Abyss was coming out, so I waited for it for about a month. I beat it in about 2 weeks and I still play it.

I've waited since 06, because that's when I first learned about Brawl. I thought it was that winter, but it was the winter after that, so I had to wait for a whole nother year, now, adding 2 more months.
