GIMP tutorial on how to make good tags please.

Like what tools to use, how to get C4ds behind, like you know,

 

ALL THE BASICS,BUT VERY DETAILED!

Anybody got a simple tut for how to give any card image glow around the monster's border?

 

On GIMP?

Try an alien glow.

Its been forever since i got on gimp. But i would suggest.

1. Select the Rectangular select tool. And select the Card Image.

2. Go to Filter>AlphatoSelection>Alien Glow. (It is at the bottom of the filter list.)

If its that, I can help. Its NOT alien glow, it doesn't work.

 

Paste your card into GIMP. Use the Rectangular select tool to select the image. Cut the Image (CTRL+X or Edit>Cut) then paste on a new layer (CTRL+V or Edit>Paste). Then duplicate it (Layer>Duplicate Layer). On the bottom one, go to Filters>Blur Gaussian Blur and blur it a lot. Then Go to Colors>Colorize and change the colour to what you want. Hope I helped :P

That's not what I mean. I mean the white glow around Junk Warrior itself.

I got this for you dude, Get the render, make sure it has a transparent background on GIMP 2.6.10 you go to

Filters > Alpha to logo > Alien Glow, set the colour you want and don't put the size too high or it looks silly.

In that case, you would need the render for the montser in the card image. Duplicate it, blur the bottom layer and colorize.

Renders are easy, but I have never tried your way EHN, so try that it would most likely turn out good.
