Prime material is now anti-meta.

Prime Material Gryphon

EARTH

Level: 5

[beast/Effect]

You can send 1 card from your hand to the Grvaeyard to negate the activation and effect of a card(s) whose effect sends cards from the Deck to the Graveyard, and destroy that card.

ATK/ 2200

DEF/ 1200

Prime Material Saurus

FIRE

Level: 6

[Dinosaur/Effect]

You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation of an effect that Special Summons a monster(s) and destroy it.

ATK/ 2400

DEF/ 1000

Prime Material Shark

WATER

Level: 5

[Fish/Effect]

You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation of an effect that removes from play a card(s) in the Graveyard, either as a cost or part of the effect, and remove it from play.

ATK/ 2200

DEF/ 1700

The Prime Material

LIGHT

Rock/Effect

1/0/0

If this card is sent from your hand to the Graveyard for the cost of a "Prime Material" monster, you can return it to your hand during the End Phase.

Prime Material Golem

LIGHT

Rock

6/2400/2600

You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation and effect of a card effect that activates when a monster is Tribute Summoned (including itself) and destroy it.

^Anti Monarch ftw!^

Prime Material Hydra

LIGHT

Sea Serpent

6/2300/2000

You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation and effect of a card that activates during the Battle Phase, and destroy it.

^And there goes Honest^

Prime Material Gear

EARTH

Level: 4

[Machine/Effect]

When a "Prime Material" monster attacks, your opponent cannot activate cards effects until the end of the Damage Step.

ATK/ 1800

DEF/ 200

Prime Material Swordsman

EARTH

Level: 4

[Warrior/Effect]

Once per turn, you can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the Summon of an opponent's monster(s), and destroy them.

ATK/ 1600

DEF/ 1000

Materia Star Gazer

LIGHT

Fairy

4/2100/1000

Discard this card to add 1 "Divina Materia" from your Deck to your hand. If "Divina Materia" is not on the field, destroy this card.

Prime Material Chimera

LIGHT

Level: 10

[beast/Effect]

"The Prime Material" + 1 or more "Prime Material" monsters

This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon. The ATK and DEF of this card are each 1000x the number of Fusion Material Monsters used in this card's Fusion Summon. You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation of a card's effect and destroy that card.

ATK/ ?

DEF/ ?

Material Prism

Quick-Play Spell

Activate only when your opponent declares an attack while you control a "Prime Material" monster. Send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to destroy the attacking monster and end the Battle Phase.

Materia Road

Normal Spell

Return 5 "Prime Material" monsters from your Graveyard to your Deck. Then, draw 3 cards.

Aurura Materia

Continuous Spell

Once per turn, if you control no monsters, you can Special Summon 1 "Prime Material" monster from your hand.

Divina Materia

Field Spell

"Prime Material" monsters can be Normal Summoned or set without Tributing. When this card is destroyed, draw 1 card for every "Prime Material" monster with a different name you control.

Shining Materia

Continuous Trap

During the End Phase, draw 1 card for every "Prime Material" monster you control that negated a card's effect(s) this turn, and then discard 1 card drawn with this effect.

Darkness Materia

Continuous Trap

During the End Phase, your opponent discards 1 card for every "Prime Material" monster you control that negated a card's effect(s) this turn, and then they draw 1 card.

Prime Material Blasting

Counter Trap

Send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard. Negate the activation and effect of a card whose effect can be negated by a "Prime Material" monster you control, and apply that card's effect as the effect of this card. Then, draw 1 card. (This effect is treated as the effect of a "Prime Material" monster.)

More to come.

The first card gains +100% approve because of the name, even if you spelt it badly xD!

The second one might not be as effective against the meta as you think, a lot of the SS'ing now is done with things which can be Solem'd (AKA, not stopped by this card), but it's still good.

I want to see some sorta Prime Material Fish, don't know why.

I do like Dark Materia, but I don't think it'll be too good in actual meta. Right now, the Graveyard is the hotspot (DAD, Darius, JD) for cards, and...

*gets it*

Heh heh heh...That's rather clever. But I think that 2 more monsters are in order.

Prime Material Landslide

LIGHT

Rock

6/2400/2600

You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation and effect of a card effect that activates when a monster is Tribute Summoned (including itself) and destroy it.

^Anti Monarch ftw!^

Prime Material Hydra

LIGHT

Sea Serpent

6/2300/2000

You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation and effect of a card that activates in the hand, and destroy it.

^Aand there goes Honest^

Graveyard is a hot spot, yes, but destroying the opponent's hand hurts as much as, if not more than, it helps. I take it that's what you thought of.

I'll add those cards, along with another 2 spells.

Hydra would be better worded as:

"When this card is in play' date=' no effects can be activated during the Damage Step whenever a "Prime Material" monster attacks or is attacked."

Stops Limiter, Lily AND Honest in one shot.

Other than that, I like your set a lot. 9/10.

The thing about Prime Materials is that they need to discard to use their effects. So maybe something like:

You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation and effect of a card effect that activates in the Damage Step and destroy that card.

They desperately need a way to be Summoned easier' date=' a whole Deck of tributes poses obvious problems - and it should ideally be a searchable monster or Field Spell (best w/ searcher) since you'll want it to keep consistent.

Both valid points. I will make the change and add a new Field Spell.

The thing with making the anti-Honest card discard for it to negate is, to me, too large a price to pay (as you'll be burning Card Advantage just to ensure your monsters don't get screwed over by Honest). Preventing any Damage Step effect will screw with Honest's main function but not stop it completely (it can still be Summoned or Set).

You could add an effect that would require a discard as cost, but make the "protection against Damage Step effects" compulsory for Hydra.

Also, "Prime Material Landslide" would be better named as "Prime Material Golem" or "Prime Material Construct".

(a minor nitpick, but you misspelled Aurora)

And lastly, you could make a Trap Card that would give the Prime Materials the speed of Counter Trap Cards.

All right, let me rephrase my suggestion:

My intent was to stop cards like Honest, Limiter and Lily; not cards that search after they hit the Graveyard (i.e. Sangan). Maybe something like the effect of the Ancient Gears extended to the Prime Material monsters as long as it's in play. Would that be good enough for a new monster entirely?

I think that that's a good idea. I'll make that monster now.
