CONTINUED: Democracy on YCM!

Recommended Posts

ok

1 we are heading off topic, quite frankly most of us don't care if the u.s is a democratic country or not.

2 if we run this through democracy everyone will fight nothing will get done, even if we get something decided that means making the mods turn into our pawns/servants that do what we say, but look most of us can't decide which of us are the noobs or not, who will the mods listen to, we would have to forget stars and put brain thought and idea into the question as well. personally i'm all for the re movement of stars but that is a different story. the fact is half of the 5-6 and even 4 stars would hardly pay attention to any ideas one stars such as myself have, even though some of us make perfectly logical sense.

Mods are afraid of an outbreak? Of what? Spammers? It's not the real world, we can't burn their villages and brutalize their women. I feel like I've been negged harshly before, but in the end, its fair since everyone is judged the same way. Besides, just look at America: our pathetic attempt at democracy is falling apart before our very eyes. Look at Greece, Rome, etc: Democracies don't last long. And that's a historical fact.

So you are saying that Mods shouldn't have the powers to ban members who are not following the rules. I mean it's their job, what do you want them to do? Nothing? They are here to control pesky members who are too lazy to read the rules.

If what you want would happen. Then, members will start spamming, flaming, flooding, and other annoying stuff and it would just make this site worthless.

Short Term: The site is great as it is.

I Don't Support.

Sorry.

The US is an Indirect Democracy, which utilizes the votes of representatives instead of everyone's vote.

No. This thread is stupid.

Anarchy means no government.

Also, that is stupid as well.

I both agree and disagree with you.

We should VOTE for a mod. Mods should also post a App why' date=' and people get to vote wether or wether not to make that s/he gets modhood.

I disagree because then mods would be dead, except for the job of locking threads. But I also think if we do have a ban court, Mods can still give warning %. And if it's 100%, auto-perma ban.

But I'm also for a Un-ban court. Though the question is how should they appeal if their banned. Thus nulling this suggestion.

So basically,

YES, for voting and appointing for a mod, not to mention a Ban Court.

NO, for complete democracy, even though I like this form of goverment, unless mods are the only ones allowed to give Warning %s, and lock threads. Also, that they can perma ban if someone's warning is at 100%. Then I'm all for it.

[/quote']

This but id like to add YCMaker and other admins should be the only ones that should be ableto perm ban.

alright' date=' but what about voting a mod? have a sub sect, people post apps, people read it. Then they vote wether they believe the user is worthy of being a mod.

example app:

User:

Reasons for being a Mod:

What have you contributed to YCM:

etc...

i know it doesn't look like a good app, but we'll need to ask some mods what they look for in a mod.

[/quote']

I also agree with this as most of you probable know I made a tread about this.

Well the why I see it is ones the People become MODs they start abusing there power and obsessing over the site and YCMaker and the other admins dont have the time to look through eve characters posts and stuff and they choose people who te think are worthy to be MODs but 50% of the time the people they choos arent worthy and not al the admins interact with YCM so I think it would be best for thepeople who have interacted alot with the other peopl to dicide if thr person is wort to be a MOD. Thats just how I see it othes might think differant.

I think its a good idea. Popular members like me can then exert our influence over idiot newb members and cause mass anarchy and overall abuse the system' date=' and no one can stop us, because we control the majority.

Funny idea. But thats not realy Y people want democracy. and newb is spelled n00b or noob or newbie or something like that. I dont use that word.

@ Katoki

EXACTLY! u r totally right dude. Mods arent usually (no offence) ready for the responsibility. Some are, but theres always an odd one that isnt. MODS have a serius job and they should be redy for it.
