very noob question

Recommended Posts

Ok so I apologize for the noobish question here, but my nephew and i were playing the card game. And I came up with a couple questions he didnt know the answer to.

1. how many cards are allowed to be in your hand? (without the card Inifinite cards).. I assume you each start off with 5 and then on ur first turn you can pick up 1. But if the card you pick up is pot of greed can you use it and have 6 cards in your hand? I think you are only allowed 5 cards at the end of your turn... some please explain this to me.

2. what if you have a card in your had that you just cant use. Are you allowed to just discard it to the graveyard? What if you spell and trap cards spots are full with cards that are I guess useless, can u just send them to the graveyard without using them? Ex. lets say you have an equip card in your had but you need room so you put it on the field, face down.. can u just discard it to make room for another card on the field?

The first was answered easily...

2nd. I've run into conflicts with that.

Especially if you use the Advanced Format Rules, and your opponent accidentally ran a banned card. Just discard/remove from game completely and draw 1. Make sure your opponent uses a filler card next duel to sub.

1) The maximum cards you can have at the End Phase is 6. If you have more, then you have to discard until only 6 remain.

a) Yes, you draw 1 card during your Draw Phase each turn.

b) If you have a free Spell/Trap Card Zone, then you can play Pot of Greed. If you end up with 7+ cards with it, you'll have to discard at the End Phase

2) No you can't.

For a more detailed explanation, this may help you
