Flame Dragon
It's only happening because people mod their Wii. I understand why Nintendo is working so hard to stop it, but really, if your Wii is modded you shouldn't be getting updates in the first place. Any word if it causes the Wii's to loss things like save data? If not I might get this just so my Wii can get a free fix. Hopefully this will be fixed by next week. If not they really should just pull the update off till they know it won't kill Wiis.

OmegaWave
I still don't understand the problem with modding a system. Nintendo's not losing anything because of it. We already bought the damn system.

I know that >_> It's only happening because Nintendo themselves program the update to do those things and they only did that because people mod their Wiis. So no modding= no dead Wiis. Not quite. This is actually happening because the boot2 program, which is used to start the damn thing, was changed to 2.4 (perhaps it was to cut off access to people who installed BootMii there; which is completely retarded), which apparently caused an error and bricked Wiis. I still don't understand the problem with modding a system. Nintendo's not losing anything because of it. We already bought the damn system. They are though. People can download the data for games onto empty CDs so can get games for free. True, except that's a result of HBC. People (or at least; the main people) who make this stuff clearly state that they do not support piracy of any sort (and don't start with the "Then why'd they make this stuff if it can be used to do illegal stuff?" That's like saying people shouldn't make kitchen knives because some nut case will probably use it to kill someone).

TAG
This doesn't really bother me. I only update when it's absolutely mandatory. Much thanks. People found a way to fix this like 2-3 days ago. They found a way AROUND the update, as in homebrew. People who updated regardless may or may not have gotten their Wii bricked, depending on their luck.
Captain Lawless
i knew about this a long time ago, back when I first found out about homebrew.Kinda sux, if they release some update you actually need, but I figure they'd beable to find a way around that, too XD
