Grim Reaper Drawing by NickLD

NickLD only believes in positive reinforcement. In his case, only pointing out the good things and not even mentioning the faults.

On topic: The hand that holds the scythe is off. Unless you are blind, you could see that the creature has two right hands. Even if you meant it to be like that, it's still not correct.

Okay, I know you told me not to post again, but there are several things I want to clear up:

- I am 14 years old, same as you.

- You yourself just admitted that the shading on the hand is off.

- Never once did I insult you or your work, I merely gave CnC, as every other thread ever made in this section has received.

Thanks to everyone who defended me.

Um. If everyone says it is, then it is. :/

Not being able to draw =/= inability to see when something looks bad.

The whole point of CnC is to point out your mistakes, so you can fix them... -_______-

everyone said the earth was flat...is it?

just becuz everyone says something doesnt make it so...

There's no such thing as "positive criticism".

That's the part that's off. I wasn't talking about the damn pinky' date=' either. The thumb is probably placed on the wrong position on the hand.

[/quote']

um, that looks right to me....the thumb is on the right side, is it not?

Nick, I have now talked to several different people in real life, showing them the drawing you made, every single one of them has said that the hand is wrong the second they looked at it, also, the people who have posted here have said that the hand is wrong. Accept it, you made a mistake, the hand is wrong. Fix it and move on.

Compare your left hand with your right hand. Do you see the difference? If not, get some damn glasses.

Seriously, how hard is it to understand what's wrong with it? Try grabbing something with your right hand, see how the thumb is places, and then make the fix to this picture.

lmao, i get the problem now, my brother and me both looked at the pic, and we realized what everyone was talking about...

do u guys think the knuckles are being shown on the sythe hand? if so, thats where ur looking at it wrong xD

i didnt make the shadow dark enough i guess so u think the fingers and the palm are connected, but think of it as if the fingers are wrapping around the sythe, but the top knuckles are still behind the sythe....see what i mean? lol, i hope thats what u meant...

I think you're a good artist' date=' but right now, you're being an arrogant prick. You are far from perfect. Learn to accept mistakes and fix them in the future.

[/quote']

I was going to write a very long explaination on why you should accept some advice and not others, but OMGAKITTY pretty much took the words right out of my mouth and condensed them.

Helpful advice is painful to take, nick.

Like medicine, it will leave a sour taste in your mouth at first, but it will help you s lot in the long run.

Take frission's advice, Nick. He kept posting because he wanted to see you grow better at drawing, not to insult you.

im gonna repeat myself for a billionth time, there IS something called positive criticism.

its where u point out what could be better, but do so in a respectful manner, point out the bad yes, but point out the good as well, so i know i didnt completely fail in every aspect of the drawing, because i know i didnt.

and like i said, i honestly dont agree with the shadowing/contrast thing. i think it looks fine, and exactly the way i was hoping when i drew it.

Everyone's far from perfect, Nick. If you can learn different types of shading, you might be able to teach yourslef to put those shadings together in such a way that you like more that your previous method of shading.

If it came out exactly the way you wanted it to come out, great. On the other hand, if you can learn different tips on shading, coloring, ect., you may want something to come out differently next time, and it will look even better.

As for the positive criticsm, if you truely want to better yourself as an artist, you have to learn to take criticism from people who don't give it kindly, as well as those who do. Most likely, if they are going in-depth on what you could do to better your picture, they want to help. Try to listen to everyone, and try out what they tell you to do. If you don't like the end result, try it again with a different approach. After that, if you still don't like it, scrap the advice.

As for the video, I think you should have used "This is Halloween," by Marilyn Manson. Just saying. =D

The song came back' date=' if you noticed.

Anyways, don't get me wrong Nick, it looks great.

On the other hand, it's a lot more fun to make images when you can get better everytime, if you understand what I mean. ;)

[/quote']

yes, but i can get better without other people, thats why everyone of my new images is better then the last...

i practice A LOT, and to me, thats all i need, i read a lot of comics, and look very closely at the art, so i can learn from it. thats just how i get better, thats my personal method. if u dont agree with it, thats fine, but let me do it my way, and u do it urs.

and what came back?

Nick, if you are going to completely ignore any comments or criticism posted here related to the improvement of your work, why the hell did you post the work in the first place? It is just to show off, to say "look at me, and how amazing my work is, I am so much better at this than everyone else here, I posted it just to laugh at the way you tried to cnc it". Really, if you don't want people to give criticism on your work, don't post.

I'm sick of this.

i posted it becuz their are to few drawings in showcase. feel free to cnc, but dont expect me to change anything simply because u told me to.

@FANtomCore: thx, it looks pretty good, but it kinda threw me off at first, his fingers look kinda small/short. maybe if the hand was right between urs and mine, that way u could see the separation...

I haven't been the only one to tell you there is a problem though. Almost everyone who has posted here has told you that there is a problem with the hand, and yet you have continued to say that it is everyone else's problem, and not yours, but no matter how good the rest of the drawing is, if one part is incorrect to everyone who looks at it, it has to be fixed.

The song came back, as in the music, as in the audio, as in "Don't Fear the Reaper."

It's great you are looking at other people's artwork to gain ideas, but that also accounts as people helping you.

Also, you can learn a lot ore if you do both.
