"Hello, Somnus users, Somnus is experiencing technically difficulties and is currently rebooting. We are at 10% as of ten seconds ago. We would wish for you to step out, and greet your other friends." The H.O. slouched back in his chair, hitting the private speaker. "Yes, Mr. Otto, this is the Head of Operations of the Somnus Tower in uptown New York. Tower Number 21, yes. I understand. The reason we disconnected is we had a virus... London, too?"--- Celeste stepped out of her pod, rubbing her eyes. She walked out of her room and then the tower, viewing the streets. Some of the lower and middle class apartments stood proud, though the higher class were in worse shape then anything, seeing as whole families made runs at the same time as a "family vacation" from reality. Celeste ran down the street, waving at some of her friends from outside Somnus. She noticed that her clothes were smaller. She had been in Somnus since her Freshman Year, so it didn't surprise her that none of her clothes fit. She ran up to a boutique and bought a new set of clothes, pulling them on. She walked out, enjoying the fresher air, seeing as no one drove anymore. She looked around, looking at the restaurants and feeling the $100 in her pocket. She walked down the street to a fast food restaurant and sat down, looking around. Only five people were inside, and 10 behind the counter. "Yes, can I get a double cheesburger and a chocolate milkshake?" Celeste said, looking at the menu. "Here you go, ma'am," the boy behind the counter said. She went to one of the public tables and noticed that Chris was sitting at the table. "Oh, you're Chris, right?" "Yes, Christian's my name. Do I know you?" Chris said, smiling at her. "I think so, we met in Somnus once," she said. "Oh, yeah, now I remember you. You're... Celeste, right?" Chris said, still smiling, "Nice to see you in reality." "You too," she said, blushing. Navras Posted October 1, 2009 Report Share Posted October 1, 2009 ryoji, done screaming but still howling with rage, walked over to his chamber door and put his fingers in between the cracks. he had been in sonus for five long years, and it had in fact deminished his strength, but the door was open, wether he realized it or not, his prying it open only made it appear as though he had actually pryed it open. when he opened his door all the way, he was out of breath, but he looked around, panting at the people staring at him. he took an experimental step out from his chamber. he stumbled a bit, but soon regaine dhis balance. he walked over a few more steps towards the crowd of people. one of the men in the crowd walked forwards to him and said, "Hey,take it easy alright? it's jsut a technicall difficulty,w e jsut have to wait for it to get better then we'll-""SHUT UP!" shouted ryoji, punching him in the stomach and kicking him to teh ground. he breathed harder and harder still, glaring at all around him. he walked away from the man and through the crowd, they moving to the sides to keep away from him. "I haven't been out of Somnus in so long, the city still had people in it last time I went in." Chris and Celeste spent their meal laughing at each other's jokes, listening carefully to each story told, and then competing with their own story. "It's hard to believe that Somnus is only seven years old. People depend on it for life. They dream themselves kings, though they die slowly with each jump. You need social interaction in the real world where the people don't conform to your exact demands..." "I see what you mean. You're really smart, and you didn't even change your appearence in Somnus? Most people go by their "avatars" in Somnus, which I think is kind of weird, because you have no idea who this person is, unless you can take their profile page up, which is near impossible unless you're a hacker," Celeste laughed. "Hmm, I just think Somnus in such large runs is bad for you. Look at the city. You can't devote your life to that, or else you get sucked in. It's like taking an addictive drug, it harms you, but you can't stop," Chris said, frowning at his meal. "You're right." Celeste said.--- Someone sat at their computer in a dark room, staring at a computer code written in binary, copying down what the code was word for word. "Interesting. "Lets see if the system is rebootg...?" Alucard smiled "i can take it off line for good." Alucard decided "If I change the command system ... it will disable somnus for good" Alucard entered the code CreateBackDoor.EXE and also entered DeleteAllUnprotectedFiles.EXE. "This should speed up my virus (curently eating away at all files) and help me take control." Alucard thought to himself "Its a good thing the only way to stop my virus is my secret deactivation code... That only I know." He carried Ryoji to a displacement center on the ground floor for solitary confinement. "I hate to demur, but you sir need to stay here for two days. We will put you in a rehabilitation center after that." The Operator put his headset on, "Operator 2134, Stephen Mitchells, to Niki Niasan. Yes, miss, the subject has been restrained and will be moved to a rehabilitation clinic after his restraint."--- Chris looked at his phone. Suddenly, a light flashed up, bringing up a message. "Hello, this is Operator 2134 of the New York Somnus Tower. We have received your application, Mr. Modum, and we would like to inform you that you have been accepted. Please report to your neighborhood tower and grab the pack marked 10234."--- Suddenly, the computer at Alucard's fingertips read the message "Virus Deleted. Files Restoring..." I WANT TO DIE BY MY MOUNTAINS AND LIVE NEXT TO HER.... my dearest Selena..." he let his head fall and he began to sob. he was utterly quaking with sorrow as the river fell like the Niagra from his eyes."Let me out so i can crawl away and die alone... i don't want to live without her... please, i just want to see her again..." ryoji let go of the arms on his chair completely, not caring anymore that he was beign restrained, he just cryed for all that he was worth. he sobbed int eh darkness and somehow, the room grew a little bit darker and sadder. She said that if you put the visor on in your head and Somnus is activated the even your most wildest dreams will come true. Omaru thought to himself. Omaru chose a spot to sit in, brought the visior to his head and slid it on. The Somnus machine activated and took Omaru into a town. Omaru walked to the nearest building at saw that he had a tail, cat ears hanging out, claws on his hand and feet. "So it did work after then?" His Abilities seemed to increase, and His Details More Visible. He then Said "I'm actually Glad..... But I Have one thing I Have to Admit to you.... My Past has Been filled with Hate and Torture, My Own Life is Far too Stressful for Even a Calm person to handle, I have had no Friends at all.
