.Leo
Simple:Cut Clubs/Orgs like we did with Trading Cards and stuff online. sry we will probably never cut it. Yeah it seems that it is Getting Spammier ever day i go. it seems to be annyoing with posts like "no." where the use a Period to get around the character limit. i admit i have made posts like that but it should be cleaned and watched because of the Spam we are seeing
Huntar!
Its too much to monitor. There are roughly 30-60 active clubs. And about 30 of them get over 2 pages of responses a day. So on any given day there's at least 60 pages to cover. But we all know that some clubs get hundreds of new posts a day. Making it impossible to cover it all. =/ Sure, you could put rules in place, but its too difficult to enforce them.
OMGAKITTY
We should make every club owner a mod. Every single one of them.

I'm going back to Custom Cards where I belong I shouldn't keep sticking my nose into other sections however important they may be.....

Lemniscate
Here is an idea for a process that could be implemented in order to make Clubs and Organizations more organized. Step 1: Remove post count in Clubs and Organizations.Step 2: Implement strong anti-spamming rules, and appoint a Moderator to lead the section.Step 3: Create guidelines for qualities of clubs, and begin cleaning up clubs that do not meet the guidelines.Step 4: Once spamming and such has gone down to a sufficient level in the section, restore post count, but leave the threat of it being removed again in order to keep members in line, and also threaten that should things get worse in the future, that all new clubs will be subject to moderator approval before posting, just like the Debates section. EDIT: Hunter' date=' Flame Dragon, Icy, and Darth all mod General at the moment. The main section is run fairly well, about on par with the rest of the site.Clubs and Organizations though seems to be avoided by the mods, due to the sheer amount of work. It shows that the section should have a mod who is specifically appointed to run that section, and only that section. Someone who can devote their full time and resources to cleaning things up, setting up new and stronger rules, and keeping the forum strong.[/quote'] I offered my help once since I used to mod that section a long time ago and I only have Music right now which hardly needs moderation. But yeah that's only if YCMaker/FP realize that this section needs more work.Overall I'd say that Main General is in a worse state than Clubs though. Even with good moderation. THAT's a place where I would say it's full of 3~5 words posts with quote pyramids.=/ And what's Scratchworks? Scratchworks was a design team founded by myself, Xirno, Seta Sojiro, and Madsen. It quickly grew, releasing a large number of graphic design resources, and spawning several other design groups, which were largely responsible for starting a design revival in the Graphic Design section, with the quality of individual member's work drastically increasing, and quality of posts increasing. Sadly, it was forced to close down after the club became too much for myself and Seta to handle (Xirno and Madsen having since left).
Yasu
Most people are happy with it. Just encourage members to report posts.
CinnamonStar
We should make every club owner a mod. Every single one of them. YEAH DO THAT!! Do you relize the anarchy that could be caused with that idea? Anyway f*** it. I'm going back to Custom Cards where I belong I shouldn't keep sticking my nose into other sections however important they may be..... ...no that's not the point.Eh re-read what Icy and I wrote in the mods forum, nothing more or less. Frission/Hunter: I don't support removing post count there. I think without it the spamming will become worse and something like Games. Since the members know that they can post whatever they want without getting warned for spamming. Like an invitation to a big party, kinda.Meh I don't really like the idea since it would also punish the decent clubs. But I support the rest.Treats.XD Hunter: Would it help if you watched the stuck threads especially? Since they are like rolemodels there. If one of them steps out of line for the xth time replace it with a new one.But I agree, it's hard to watch them all, people are eager to post... Lemniscate
Opal, my idea was that post count would not count, but that anti-spamming rules would still be enforced, so you would be able to rein in the spam and at the same time, members wouldn't make gains in post count from that section. It would only be temporary though, as once the section has met certain standards determined by the section's moderator, post count would be restored. CinnamonStar
I kinda pictured your idea. With the "forcing"/"bribing" the members to stop spamming (lack of better terms).Like a transition phase/experiment until people stop? It could be an option but what tells us that it will be better after? "Wait, post count is back? Let's continue, gogogogogogo!!" Then treaten to remove it again but not really do it? Could work but I guess they'll figure it out soon no? IDK I've never been very fond of post count removing ideas other than Games. Strange to come from someone who made 2000 post in 1 1/2 year but whatever. I prefer your other suggestions, really.

I, myself, would have my post count halved. You're not in Clubs much, it's easy for you to say.Thirdly, there are some forums that need post count removed more than Clubs. Take shops, for instance. Or Introductions. Or Card Contests. "Entry Reserved". Is that worthy of a post count? I don't think so. "Accepted". Again, no.Finally, it would probably get an even bigger reaction than the advanced clause, with Hunter and Opalmoon being flooded woth negs. -Griffin
My thoughts: Post count should really mean nothing. Remove it from the section so that anyone who thinks it does mean something won't have an excuse to make the place worse. Then, add some slightly stricter rules there, nothing huge. It doesn't need to be a character/word limit, although that may help, any form of quality control or increased moderation would probably do.Then again, that's just my thoughts, I don't visit it much so my opinion might be uninformed as to it's particulars. Brushfire
If I were a Mod I'd un-stick all threads in there temporarily, create a Sticky thread saying that Clubs needs serious work and that people won't be getting away with pointless spam anymore, and start warning everyone who spams in each thread. After a few people get the idea that that can't spam, it will catch on to everyone else and they'll stop in fear of being warned, thus it no longer being a spammy sh*thole. Then I'd re-Sticky the good Clubs while keeping as much of an eye on it as I would with General. If Hunter, Flame Dragon or Icy wants to take my idea, please do so.
