[spoiler=Episode 1][align=center]Episode 1: the new beginning Pt.1

It was a bright and sunny day when Brian Meteo woke up. He let out a yawn and said with enthusiasm, "Alright! It's time to get ready. I can't wait to take my duel exam and finally get into one of the 12 duel academies."

As Brian got his shirt on, he looked at the clock. "Oh no! I'm late!" Brian had no idea what time it was beforehand. He grabbed his bag, duel disk, deck, and ran out the door. He had 15 minutes to get all the across town to Kaiba Corp.

As he runs, Brian hears a big scream. He then stops and starts to look for the source. He then runs all over the place, not realizing that he had only 10 minutes left. Brian then arrived deep in the park and saw some guy fall to the ground. "Hey! Are you alright!!?" From in front of the collapsed person stood up and said,"He's definitely not alright. His soul has been imprisoned and if you want to release it, then you'll have to defeat me in a duel, seeing as that you have a duel disk." Brian looks a little freaked out, and then stands up to the guy. He then says, "I never back down from a challenge. Let's duel!" Brian pulled out a duel disk, put his deck in the slot and activated it. The guy then activates his and they both shout out, "GAME ON!"

Brian yelled out, "I'll start! I summon a monster in defense mode. Then, I'll let loose a little face down action and call it quits." The man then draws with out talking and then laughs demoniacally. "I activate the field spell card, creation to darkness!" Suddenly, dark shrouds start to form around the two duelists. "Then I activate my second spell card, intervention of shadows. Now, by discarding 1 DARK monster to my graveyard, I can send all face downs on the field right to the depths of the graveyard. Say good bye to your cards!" The wind picks up and blows away all cards on Brian's field. "I'm not done yet. I summon Dark-Mist Swordsman in attack mode (1800/1500). Now my warrior, attack his life points with gouging slash!" Brian's life points drop to 2200 and then he falls to the ground. "That attack just forced me to mention my field spell again. When a player inflicts damage to a player with a dark monster, creation to darkness fortifies the life points of the monster's controller by the same amount." The mysterious person's life points went up to 5800. "I think you've had enough for now, so I'll end with a face-down."

Brian gets up and draws without peer. "I summon blade magician in attack mode (1300/1650). Now, attack his swordsman! And when my mage attacks or is attacked, I can send 1 Spellcaster monster from my hand to the graveyard to increase his ATK by the amount of the discarded monster. So, I can discard my second blade magician to double his power (1300*2=2600). Also, since I discarded blade magician, your swordsman is wiped out and I can replay my attack directly to you! Go blade magician. Attack him with Dark-Veil Slice!" The person's life points drop to 3200. "And due to your own field spell, I gain 2600 life points back." Brian's life points just more than doubled to 4800. "I put this down and end my turn."

"ARGH! You're going to pay for that dearly. I play the spell card pot of greed. This lets me pick up 2 more cards. Then, I play revival stone. This lets me pay 1000 points to summon 1 DARK monster with less than 2000 ATK from my graveyard. Welcome back my swordsman. This intern activates dark-mist swordsman's effect. When its summoned from my graveyard, I can special summon 2 mist sword tokens. Then, I'll sacrifice all 3 of my monsters to summon Dark-Mist Dragon (3500/2700) in attack mode! Now my almighty behemoth, attack his magician with impending doom inferno!" Brian's magician takes a huge hit and Brian falls to his knees in utter pain. Their life points then become: Brian-2600; M.Person-4100. "Hold it. I have a trap. Reveal magical time armor. After a Spellcaster monster is destroyed in battle, I can revive it and wipe out its destructor. Then, you take damage equal to your monsters ATK. Try that on for size!" The person fell to his knees finally and his life points dropped to 600.

"Impressive. No body has ever destroyed my dragon. Looks like to me, you deserve a pat on the back, but in this case, more like a blast from the past. Come on back, boy." The man's Dark-Mist Dragon reappears on the field, Brian real surprised to see it back. "Why did you dragon just come back?" "You see, Brian. Dark-mist dragon is able to be automatically revived once its destroyed. All I'm required to do is remove my dark-mist swordsman from my grave to keep it in play. Now it's able to complete the task it was meant to do. Attack with impending doom inferno!" Brian thought to himself,"If this attack hits, I'll lose more than just this duel. Much more...."

[spoiler=Episode 2][align=center]Episode: The New Beginning Pt.2

"Dark-Mist Dragon, impending doom inferno!!" yelled out the man. The dragon fires a huge burst of black flames at Brian's magician. "Hold it right there! By discarding my Magic Wand monster card, I can reduce all battle damage involving my monster and my life points to 0 and destroy the very monster that attacked. Afterwards, you take 500 points of damage!" The man's life points took a shock of 500 bringing him down to 100 and his dragon left the field. "Also, mister, my Magic Wand ends the battle phase. "True, you may have destroyed my dragon again and ended the battle phase, but don't forget that my dragon can be instantly revived by removing a DARK monster from my graveyard." "But by my memory, you only had your swordsman...Wait a second."

Brian then has a flashback: "Now I activate my spell card, intervention of shadows. Now, by discarding 1 DARK monster to my graveyard, I can send all face downs on the field right to the depths of the graveyard. Say good bye to your cards!"

"Now I remember," said Brian. "That's right. I remove my Dark-Mist Lancer from play so I can once again revive Dark-Mist Dragon!" A pause occurred and then the man continued. "What else? How about a spell card? I activate Demise by Ancient Mist! This lets me sacrifice my Dark-Mist Dragon to summon something with limitless power. I summon Mon-Sairoh, Lord of Ancient Mists (4400/3200) in attack mode! Behold the most powerful monster in my deck. I place a face-down and end my turn." Brian looked shocked to the core when seeing this creature. He felt like his life was passing by like a blink of an eye. He then let out a faint mutter. "Muahahaha. Guess if I were standing down the most powerful card in my deck, I'd be crying too...uhhh." "HAHAHA. It's awesome facin' your dragon. I've never seen a deck as fortified like yours. You're actually the best challenge since my duel with Chazz Princeton in the Gx Tournament."

"Well, I am flattered that you would say that to me, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to let you off easy. I'm still going to take that pathetic little soul of yours." Brian starred at him looking real creeped out.

"Well, if you're going to go through with this, then it's my job to put a stop to you and your little plan and I'll start with that field spell of yours. I activate the spell card Mystical Space Typhoon! This allows me to destroy 1 spell or trap card on the field and I choose...(He points at a card)...Creation to Darkness."

"Oh no!" said the man with fear.

"And don't forget. When Creation to Darkness is destroyed, all DARK monsters out are destroyed!"

"Not bad, Brian. But Mon-Sairoh can't be destroyed by the effect of a spell card." Brian then puts his hand on his forehead and then shakes it side to side.

"Why didn't I expect that??" he asked himself. "I activate the spell card Pot of Greed! This lets me draw 2 cards. Then, I'll activate another spell card. I play Magical Dimension. This lets me sacrifice Blade Magician to special summon another Spellcaster-type monster from my hand. So I choose Dark Magician of Chaos (2800/2600)! Now rise in attack mode! Normally, I could destroy a monster, but since your mist lord can't be destroyed by spell cards, I won't destroy any monsters." A sudden pauses happens while Dark Magician of Chaos is summoned. "Since my magician was special summoned, it allows me to draw any spell card I want from my graveyard...so I pick Pot of Greed. Now, I'll re-activate Pot of Greed. Now, I draw 2 more cards. Now I play my final spell card, Polymerization. This lets me fuse 1 Spellcaster-type monster and Gorz the Emissary of Darkness from my hand together to summon my most powerful monster, Malicious Magician (3300/2800) in attack mode."

"Why in attack mode?" the man asked. "My Lord of Ancient Mists has 4400 ATK and your magician has only 3300. Why whould you summon it in attack mode?"

"You'll find out. I place 1 card face-down on the field and end my turn."

The man thought to himself: Hmmm. That face-down card is obviously a trap card. Otherwise, there's no reason that he would summon Malicious Magician in attack mode.

"My move. I draw. Did you really think that Creation to Darkness could handle staying off the field? I can discard 1 card from my hand on my standby phase after it's destroyed to return Creation to Darkness to my hand. So, I discard Dark Mist Dimension to the graveyard to return my Creation to Darkness to my hand."

"Oh no!" said Brian with pure terror.

"Now I re-activate Creation to Darkness!" The field is once again covered in a veil of mist.

"Finally. I activate the spell card Darkness Devouring Mist. This lets me fuse the power of my field spell with my Lord of Ancient Mists to summon Mon-Sealiryu, Emperor of Dark Mist (5000/4500) in attack mode! Now my beast, attack his magician with Pure-Black Fire Blast!"

"I activate my spell! Reveal Burial from a Different Dimension! This lets me return my Dark magician of Chaos to my graveyard from out of play...And then, once your emperor destroys my magician, I can revive 1 Spellcaster and Gorz the Emissary of Darkness from my graveyard." The burst of fire hit Brian's magician and it was destroyed.

"Since my emperor was fused together with Creation to Darkness and it destroyed a monster, I gain life points equal to the damage. Also, all non-DARK monsters lose their effects." Their life points became: Brian-300; M. Person-2000.

"Come on back Gorz the emissary of Darkness (2700/2500) and Blade Magician (1300/1650)."

"Please. Those monsters won't stand a chance against my Emperor of Dark Mist." said the man.

"True, they aren't even remotely as strong as your emperor, but don't forget about my Blade Magician's special ability. I activate monster reincarnation. Now, by discarding 1 card from my hand, I can retrieve 1 monster from my graveyard. I discard this (Magician's Unite!) to return my second Blade Magician to my hand. Now, Blade magician, attack Mon-Sealiryu, Emperor of Dark Mist with Dark-Veil Slice! Also, I discard my Blade Magician to double my Magician's ATK and destroy your Emperor. Since I attacked during my battle step, I get to replay my attack upon your life points!"

"Heh. Your tactics are obvious! Reveal Mist Hourglass! This allows me to destroy your monster that is attacking. It also allows me to revive a monster that wasn't destroyed in battle. So, rise again, Mon-Sealiryu! Now you lose half of your life points." Brian's life points then dropped to 150.

"I play a face-down and end my turn." said Brian in a half-grouchy mood.

"Now it's time to finish this. I draw...Mon-Sealiryu, attack Gorz and end this duel! Pure-Black Fire Blast!"

"Ugh. You've activated my trap card, Magical Force - Gravitational Barrier!"

"Trap cards don't work on Mon-Sealiryu, remember??"

"I'm well aware of your emperor's special ability. That's why I'm not activating my trap card on your monster. Magical Force - Gravitational Barrier deflects all battle damage that I would take from your emperor's attack to both players' life points!"

"That can't be!" said the mysterious man with horror in his voice. Brian's barrier sends 2 streams of fire at both players and hits them both. Both of their life points hit 0. A big veil of light then starts to brighten the area.

[spoiler=Episode 3]Episode 3: Just in Time!

As the light faded, Brian arose from the dirt and looked around for the mysterious man. He looked all over their dueling ground and it all happened to be in vain. Brian then remembered the duel conditions. He ran over the collapsed man and shook him a few times. After that, the man came to.

“Where am I?” the man asked Brian.

“You’re out in the middle of nowhere collapsed on the ground. Some guy knocked you out and I got you back to this world.”

Brian helped the man up and asked what all happened. He then asked why the man was wearing a duel disk.

“I was on my way to the academy exams until that guy showed up and pulled me out into this wilderness.”

“Oh no! I forgot all about the exams! I was on my way too until I heard you scream.”

Brian then grabbed the guy by the wrist, pulled him over his shoulder, and ran towards Kaiba Corp.

While they were running, duel exams were going on at Kaiba Corp. Many of the new applicants were being tested to enter a duel academy. They saw a clock on the side of the street and it read: 10:59 AM.

“OH NO! The exams are about to start!” yelled Austin.

They picked up the pace to 10 fold. In no time, they caught a glance of Kaiba Corp. in the distance.

“We’re almost there, Austin. Just a little farther…” said Brian with shear happiness.

When they finally got there, they turned to look at the clock tower, which read: 11:01 AM.

“Oh man. We’re late.” Said Austin all down.

Brian unexpectedly grabs Austin by the arm and dashes straight through the entrance. They were then stopped by a Kaiba Corp. official at the door.

“Sorry, boys. The exams have already been started. I’m afraid you’ll have to come back next year.” Said the man with authority. “Mr. Kaiba is all about perfection. If you’re late, you are in major trouble. Like I said, go away and come back…”the man paused and looked at someone in the background.

“Roland, stop interrogating those kids. I’ll allow them to get into the exams, even if they are a few minutes late. That doesn’t really matter to me. I’ll just dock them 10 points from their test score for being late. Now escort them to the arena.” Said the man in the background. Roland then replied, “Yes, Mr. Kaiba.”

Kaiba then walked over to the boys, “Well? What are you waiting for? An invitation?” yelled Kaiba. The boys and Roland were spooked. The three of them bolt toward the door to the left of the receptionist’s desk. Kaiba then said to himself, “Those boys have potential.”

As they ran in the door, they both yelled out at the same time, “It’s time to duel!”

Ironically, everybody in the room was silent and glaring at them with mean faces. Then, a person from the front of the room said to Austin and Brian, “SHHHH! Now take your seats and I’ll pass out a test to you. The other kids already started. They began with a half hour. Once you two begin, you’ll only have about 15 minutes left to complete the exam.

The two of them yellow out, “WHAT!”

“SHHHHHHHHHHHH!” said the proctor.

“Sorry,” the boys said silently.

They both find an empty seat and the proctor gives each of them a test. Austin and Brian were actually sitting side by side. 15 minutes later, the timer rang.

“Time’s up! Please put down your writing utensils and stand up.”

The whole crowd of kids stood up at the same time except for Brian and Austin. The proctor, looking annoyed, walked over to them.

“Excuse me. I believe I said PUT YOUR WRITING UTENSILS DOWN AND STAND UP!” yelled the proctor with blind fury.

They dropped their pencils and shot straight to their feet.

“Thank you,” said the proctor with and obnoxious smile.

The cranky proctor went to each desk and grabbed each test one by one. He then walked back to the front of the room and placed the tests into a processing device. After about two minutes of annoying beeping and squeaking from the machine, the test scores appeared on the screen above the proctor. The highest score of a 500 was done by Melody Valentine, a perfect score. Brian and Austin both got a score of 300, barely passing scores.

“It appears that we have 27 failing duelists this year.” Said the proctor with false glee. “That's 26 less than we had last year!...Now for the moment that you’ve all been waiting for…the duel exam!”

All of the kids started cheering.

“Sweet! I thought this time would never come!” said Brian excitedly.

“Your opponent will be determined by your score that you received on your written test. The higher your score, the stronger of an opponent you’ll duel.”

Brian and Austin looked at each other, thinking that they’ll have to face each other. “Here’s the list of match-ups."

Match-ups:

Brian Meteo V. Austin Crauzelle 1-A

Palkno Ryait V. Mitaka Mizarugi 1-B

Ino Kagazuki V. Melody Valentine 1-C

Tasha Princeton V. Star Valor 1-D

“Well. Looks like our predictions were right.” Said Brian.

“Guess so.” Replied Austin.

“Applicants, move away from your desks and report to the arena designated to you by the computer.” Assigned the proctor.

Austin and Brian both headed to arena 1-A while the others headed to their designated arenas.

“Well, looks like it’s all come down to this.” Said Brian.

“Maybe. But don’t forget that this duel doesn’t mean a thing. Just remember to have fun.” Enlightened Austin.

They both insert their decks into their duel disks and activate them. They both draw their opening hands and both yell out, “Game on!”

[spoiler=Episode 4]Episode 4: A duel written in crystal Pt.1

“Well lets get this duel on the road,” said Austin to Brian with vigor. “Give it your all!”

“Let’s Duel!” they both yelled out.

“I’ll begin with this…one monster face-down. Take it away, Austin!”

“Very well. I play Crystal Knight (1800/1200) in attack mode. Now attack his monster with crystal slash!” Austin’s knight jumped up in the air and swiped its sword across Brian’s monster.

“Hold it! You just attacked my Crystal Seer (100/100)! And when it’s flipped up, I can draw 2 cards and put one of the 2 at the bottom of my deck.” Exclaimed Brian.

“Not bad. I think I’ll lay a face-down and end my turn.” Said Austin back to Brian.

“I draw. Then, I’ll play Pot of Greed. This lets me draw 2 more cards. I now activate the spell card Premature Burial. By paying 800 life points (B-3200; A-4000), I can revive 1 monster from my graveyard and I choose Crystal Seer. Then, I’ll sacrifice Crystal Seer to summon Dark Red Enchanter (1700/2200) to the field. When this card is normal summoned, it gains 2 spell counters. And, for each one, Enchanter gains 300 ATK (2300/2200). Now attack his knight with Red Burst!” Austin’s monster was struck by a red blast but didn’t move. “Huh? What the heck? Why didn’t your knight leave the field?”

“Apparently, it has a special ability…” said Austin to Brian. “Crystal Knight can’t be destroyed by any monster with more than 2000 ATK.”

“Not bad, Austin. But you still take 500 points of damage (B-2000; A-3500). I play 1 card face-down and activate my Enchanter’s ability. By removing 2 spell counters, he can discard any random card from your hand. Your move.”

“Impressive, Brian. That was a very well played move. But now, I go. I sacrifice my knight to summon Crystal Dragon – Blue (2400/1300). Now, attack his enchanter! By the way, when he attacks, his ATK goes up by 500 if his ATK is at least 700 points higher than its target.” His dragon’s body started to glow blue and then its ATK went up (2900/1300). It then fired a green meteor with a white tail at Brian’s monster. It struck his enchanter and then exploded. Brian’s life points meter then went down to 2800.

“Very nice, Austin. I’m glad I got to duel you. You are a perfect match with me.” Said Brian with amazement.

“Flattery isn’t going to get you anywhere, Brian. But thanks for props. I now play the spell card Crystal Gathering. This card marks the beginning of the end for you. I end my turn there.”

Brian was having the time of his life. He then put his hand on his deck and then drew.

“I play the spell card Allure of Darkness. This lets me draw 2 cards and then remove 1 Dark monster from my hand from play. So I’ll draw 2 and then remove…my second Dark Red Enchanter from play. Next, I summon Magical Exemplar in attack mode (1700/1400). Each time a spell is played, it gains 2 spell counters. Next I play Magical Stone Excavation. By discarding 2 cards, I can return 1 spell from my graveyard to my hand and I choose Pot of Greed. So I draw 2 more cards. Now Exemplar gains 4 counters. Now by removing any number of spell counters, I can summon 1 Spellcaster-type monster with that level from my hand or my graveyard. So I remove 4 from my Exemplar to summon Magician’s Valkyria from my graveyard in defense mode (1600/1800). As long as she’s out, you can’t attack any other Spellcasters. And with that, I end my turn”

Austin’s Crystal Gathering started to glow.

“What the..?” Brian asked himself. “Why’s your card glowing, Austin?”

“Brian, to answer your question, it’s glowing because you summoned a monster. This card gathers Crystal Shard Counters during the end phase of each turn that you summon monsters. And for each monster, it gains a counter. Since you summon Magical Exemplar and Magician’s Valkyria last turn, it gains 2 counters.”

“I don’t know what he intends to do with those counters. I just know I can’t let his plan succeed.” Said Brian in his head.

Austin was thinking to himself, “Hmmm. Crystal Gathering has been activated. Now on to phase 2.”

“I activate the spell card Crystal Orb. By sending 1 card from the top of my deck to the graveyard, I can take 1 “Crystal” monster from my deck or graveyard and add it to my hand. So I think I’ll take Crystal Dragon – Red. Next, I activate Premature Burial. Now I only have to relinquish 800 life points, then I can revive my Crystal Lancer from my graveyard in attack mode (1950/1600). Now I sacrifice my lancer to summon Crystal Dragon – Red (2500/1900). Next, I’ll activate my dragon’s special power. When summoned, Crystal Dragon – Red is summoned, he destroys all monsters with and ATK of 2000 or under if I sacrificed a “Crystal” monster to summon it. So say goodbye to your exemplar and valkyria. Also, when he attacks, I can destroy 1 spell or trap card on the field. First, my Crystal Dragon – Red will attack you directly.”

Austin’s Red crystal dragon fired a white meteor with a red tail at Brian. “Thanks to my dragon’s ability, I’ll destroy your only face-down card.” A stream from his dragon’s attack flew off and hit Brian’s face-down card. It then flipped up and then burned up in flames.

Brian smiled and then the burst hit Brian. Then all disappeared in a veil of light.

[spoiler=Episode 5]

Austin's attack hit around Brian.

"What the Heck?" Austin said.

"You activated my face-down card!"

"But how? I destroyed it."

"Exactly! My face-down card was Sarudacus the Plasma Magician!"

"Whoa I didn't see that coming."

"That's the point. And when it's destroyed, Sarudacus can be Special Summoned from my Graveyard."

"Oh Great," said Austin sarcasticly.

"Let's not forget that Sarudacus also has 3300 ATK. Also, when it's Special Summoned, it destroys 1 card on the field, like your Crystal Dragon - Red."

"Ha! You wish! I activate Crystal Gathering's effect. By removing 1 Crystal Shard Counter from it, I can return 1 "Crystal" monster from my field to my hand and replace it with a different one. So meet Crystal Dragon - Yellow (2100/1500)."

"Not bad, Austin."

"Thank you. But that's nothing. When my dragon - yellow is Summoned, I can Summon a non-Dragon-type "Crystal" monster from my hand. Looks like Crystal Shard is my choice in defense mode (100/400). Also, you must target the new monster with Sarudacus' effect. Which doing that will activate it's effect: When it's destroyed, Crystal Shard Counters are added to my Crystal Gathering equal to the number of monsters on the field. That makes a total of 4 counters."

"Oh great. Continue your move."

"Well I'm not gonna attack your magician, but I do have a plan."

"Well, then, let's see it."

"Be careful what you ask for, you might just get it. I activate the Spell Card Crystal Calling. This allows me to send 1 "Crystal" monster from my deck to the Graveyard to increase the number of Crystal Shard Counters on my gathering spell by 6."

"You're kidding me!"

"Nope. Now by destroying my Crystal Gathering while it has 10 or more Crystal Shard Counters on it, I can Summon Crystal Fortress in defense mode (2000/4000)."

"Four-Thousand DEF?"

"Yes. Not just that, but it has a pretty sweet ability. By paying 1000 Life Points, I can Summon every Crystal Dragon in my hand and Graveyard. Looks like I can Summon Crystal Dragon - Red again (2500/1900) and Crystal Dragon - Yellow (2450/1800)."

"Nice move! You played 3 monsters for absolutely nothing."

"That's nothing compared to this next card. I activate Polymerization!"

"Uh oh!"

"'Uh oh!' is right. Now I can fuse my 3 dragons together to form something even more powerful; like Crystal End Dragon (3700/2400). Not only is he strong, he has the power to Summon 1 Dragon-type "Crystal" monster from my Graveyard each turn and increase the Summoned monster's ATK by 500. So I think I'll choose Crystal Dragon - Yellow (2950/1800), and he has a sweet effect, too."

"What would that be?"

"The power to draw 1 card for every face-up "Crystal" monster upon Summoning. I have 3 "Crystal" monsters right now, which means I can draw 3 cards."

"This isn't good."

"Looks like this duels written in stone; no, more like crystal. Crystal End Dragon, attack his Sarudacus with Crystal Rush!"

"Haha! Looks like I got you!"

"What? What are you talking about? You don't have any cards face-down on the field!"

"Maybe not, Austin, but I have this card in my hand: Magic Wand, and by discarding this card, i can destroy your dragon and inflict 500 points of damage to your score!" Austin's Dragon disappeared into another dimension and his Life Point meter dropped to 2200."

"Oh man. There's no way I can come back from this."

"Don't be so sure. You got a little cocky there for a minute. I may have destroyed your strongest monster, but you still have a chance."

"Thanks for the support, Brian. You're gonna be a good friend."

"Thanks, you too."

"I guess I set 3 cards face-down and end my turn."

"I draw. I drew the card I needed to unsure my victory, Austin."

"What?"

"I activate Cold Wave."

"You've got to be kidding!"

"Nope, and thanks to this card, all Spell and Traps are frozen 'til my next turn. Next, I summon Blade Magician in attack mode (1300/1650). Sarudacus, attack his dragon with Plasma Red Curse!" Austin's last dragon was destroyed and his Life Points dropped to 1350. "Blade Magician's effect now activates; if I attack with it, I can discard another one to destroy your fortress and double his ATK (1300*2=2600) for the final blow. Blade Magician, attack!" Austin's Life Points dropped to 0.

"The Duel is Over!" said the Proctor. All of the applicants were cheering. "This has been the best duel I've see in my 25 years of doing these exams. Both of you fought well, and the duel was close. You each gain an additional 50 points added to your exam score. The same can be said to the winners of the other duels." All of the applicants screamed "YEAH!".

Impressed.

I am generally a harsh judge of fanfics, but this one, I liked very much.

The only flaw I have to point out is the lenght, which is kind of small for a regular installment. However, as I just realized while writing my own fanfic, sometimes that can be to the good, so I won't hold it against ya. =/

Without any further flaws to point out, I will rate this chapter.

-Characters: 7/10 (descriptions, people... draw a picture of them with words, how they look like, whatever... just a small paragraph. How else can the reader really integrate into the plot?)

-Plot: 7/10 (typical intro, actually, could use more work on the plot there... but decent)

-Grammar - Syntax - Structure: 8/10 (nothing extraordinarily perfect, but works)

-Description: 6/10 (could use work)

-Dueling: 9/10 (nigh-flawless. Excellent transition throughout the duel. Just capitalize the card names and add a wee bit more description, and you'll be fine)

-Overall: 7.4/10 (very good starter, add more description - I seem to say that to everyone lately - and you'll do even better)

Might want to space out paragraphs a bit, would make it an easier read. Oh, and guess what, you get a rep. =/

[align=center]Episode: The New Beginning Pt.2

[align=center]Episode 3: Just in Time!

To be continued…
