Volcanic Dragon

Speed Dragon90

I don't think its overpowered because it decreases its own Atk when summoned. If you remove 3 monsters from play at least one could be in the graveyard, thus decreasing its Atk by 500 for every monster removed from the graveyard. Even if you have 6 monsters in the graveyard you'd have to remove 3 to summon it only giving it an Atk of 3500. Thus not overpowered!

ADVANCED CARD RATING!
"Volcanic Dragon" - Card Rating by KrakenNLD
Card-Name: Volcanic Dragon

Card-Type: Monster

Attribute: FIRE

Species: Dragon/Effect

Level: 7

ATK: 2000

DEF: 2500

Effect: "This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing from play 3 Volcanic monsters. For every Volcanic monster in the Graveyard this card gains 500 ATK until this card's ATK is 5000."

Intro:

Well, at least this card has a limit :). However, a few things that trouble me is that I never seen another "Volcanic" monster besides this one. When looking that up there aren't a lot either. Ah, not that I don't mind. Well, a special summon is ALWAYS nice to have actually. So I actually do like this one. However there are some issues :).

Art: 08/10

I can't pretty much see what's going on there... a large Fire Dragon is spitting fire to a small knight or some sort which is already doing its best to defend himself. Well, it most certainly contains an atmosphere of high-level ATK actually. I like that art, and I certainly find it pretty fitting for the monster. So a 8 is for the art-section.

OCG (Original Card Grammar): 08/10

However again, this part is useless when most people just copy and paste from already excisting cards (heck, I also do it, don't worry). OCG gets a 8 because of that.

Balance: 07/10

Hmmm, this is pretty weird actually... because I didn't see a lot of other "Volcanic" cards so now it's pretty hard to rate in balance. As I got almost nothing to compare it to. However, I find it's effect descent enough for an ability of special summon. And a possible small boost which is high to get anyway. However, in a total Volcanic deck (if there is one)... this card could mean total domination on his enemy. Which is why I think you should put a downside in it. I give this one a 7... but I think this card is ONLY good enough when your entire deck is comprimised of Volcanic monsters.

Total: 07/10

This is a pretty good score, don't worry :). I like that card a bit but it's not that much that it is totally overpowered... I mean, Volcanic monsters are probably rare because of know, there are just to little of them :).

Pros:
  • You can Special Summon this card (which is always nice)
  • It's get a good boost for every Volcanic Card still left.

Cons:
  • You need to pay 3 Volcanic Monsters in your graveyard and then remove them from your game, which will be hard.

Change Suggestions

  • *art* Try to get a picture with ONLY the Dragon on it... the knight is in the way.
  • *balance* Give it a downside once it's summon... for instance, also that the owner needs to pay a few lifepoints. (just a few)

So far... this card was fun... well... it still has its issues. But every card has those :).
