Hollywood is terrified of making big budget movies that don't already have some sort of public approval in the form of a novel, or previous movie. Idiots like Shamallamaman and his "The Happening" aren't helping the case of OC.

Exactly. However Hollywood needs to learn to take some risks. "The Happening", however, isn't my idea of a risk. At the end of the day, Hollywood could always have like some kind of hidden marketing, like webcomics, or mini-series, or other things that wouldn't be multimillion dollar stuff.

My opinion, of course.
