And siege tanks are just dicks. Srsly.

 

Siege tanks fail. Hardcore. The only thing I like about the Terrans are the nukes. Seriously. Marines/Firebats fail. Way to die in two hits, guys. Wraiths are on the right track, but all other air-based vehicles blow. Goliaths are pretty basic. Nothing special. Terrans just infuriate me.

Dude. Nukes are terrible for actual games.

Marines + stim + medics are just plain deadly. Wraiths actually aren't that good....

 

Tanks + gols is a sick combo.

Dude. In all honesty, I may be the worst Zerg player known to mankind. I just can't seem to win with those guys.

Z is my backup race. Too macro heavy for me to use effectively >_>

I hear spamming hydra's is actually a legitimate strategy though.

 

I usually just sent massive amounts of Zerglings and Hydralisks and that's my Zerg strategy. xD

 

Maybe an Ultralisk here or there as well.

Terran

Right now, I think this is the weakest race. I haven't seen much real innovation in any of their units. Of course, none of the BR's showcased the Siege Tank, what I consider the backbone of the Terran force. Instead, they focused on their infantry (something that I've never thought T particularly strong in). The Marauders look nice, and the Reapers definitely have micro potential.

 

Protoss

The Protoss, however, win my vote for micro. They have a plethora of new units, all of them highly dangerous in the hands of a strong micro-er. I nearly jizzed myself watching the pro use of both blink on the Stalkers and the force field on the Nullifiers. The Protoss production ability seems to have been upped quite a bit, and they now have a lot more maneuverability with the Warp...thing (the flying one, whatever its called), and the warp ability of the pylons.

 

Zerg

The Zerg (although they lost to both P and T, which I blame more on player incompetence)is definitely a strong faction. I see it as highly effective at early game, with a much more efficient swarming ability. I have yet to see them produce any real strength in late game (as the Z players seemed to rarely tech up beyond Roaches). Banelings are devastating in the hands of an experienced player. I'll admit, I haven't really watched any high profile Z matches before, so I'm not sure of the effectiveness of burrow in BW, but in SCII, it seems much more vital to combat strategy. Especially with the Roaches rapid regen, they can strike a base, and burrow quickly, healing back to full health. I think detectors are going to be needed earlier in matches than ever before. All the matches I watched showed the opponents struggling to deal with the burrow ability. The Queens are now ground units, and apparently have the ability to increase your larvae count. Which is absolutely devastating. Interestingly enough, the Overlord is no longer an auto-detector. You have to morph it into an Overseer in order to gain detection ability. Finally, the Z are DT rushable. ;)

Overseers also seem to have the ability to spit out creep, which could become a very effective weapon, both in blocking building production in an enemy base, and giving the Z units that creep speed upgrade.

 

Oh, and lolinfestors which are like burrowed DA's. XD

 

Overall thoughts

It looks like Blizzard is pushing for even faster, more ferocious matches. With both the Z's Roaches rapid regen, and the P's faster shield recharge, we're looking at smaller amounts of cooldown between skirmishes, and more units per skirmish.

 

Sadly, as awesome as units such as the Thor and the Mothership look, I doubt they're going to get too much game time in real matches, the game simply progresses too fast to make such large tech units practical.
