heavy storm is good for the game

Recommended Posts

It really isn't that hard to balance it.

"Give your soul to the devil' date=' destroy all spell and trap cards on the field, you can only activate this card once during your lifetime."

OR

"Destroy all Spell and Trap cards on the field. You lose the duel, and the game."

Still might be too broken though...

While there are no "Boss S/T cards" Mirror Force' date=' Heavy Storm, Gorz, and Torretial Tribute are definatly more than "splashable." Most of them are staples in decks today, something just a tad higher up than "splashable"

I liked what the guy that talked about all 4 of those cards said, twas actually somewhat wise.

This.

I don't see why the players on this forum want Storm banned. The game will go to pot without it. Maybe the bad players here can't see it?

there yanks what do u expect

ohhh what ever adam corn thinks i gotta feel the same way

We're not all Americans, dude.

Anyways, Heavy Storm needs to be replaced with a card that has a decent cost for the same effect in its place, like what Lightning Vortex was to Raigeki. That's the argument everyone's been saying, and you people (whom I assume are from UKayPro?) have been ignoring that part of the argument. In its current state, Heavy Storm promotes both 'skill' and recklessness. With a balanced cost, it will just promote more skill, and not just OTKs.

@GingerChris: Konami banned DSF and Monster Reborn. They're getting smarter. Besides, I'm fairly sure that the same thing was said about Call of the Haunted and it being so slow that nobody would run it? People would still use it because of cramped deckspace. Therefore, little of the growth and thinking would be lost.

It doesn't need to be costed' date=' the card is not "unfair" if you're not an idiot against it.

Let's throw this logic onto another card which was Limited until recently.

"Monster Reborn doesn't need to be costed. The card is only "unfair" if you're an 'idiot' and summon a strong Special Summonable monster."

I'm trying to be neutral here, but that line of logic can't get you far. Heavy Storm can clear out a plethora of spells and traps that can stop you from succeeding in an OTK. No matter how your opponent plays, killing off all cards they have to stop you means they're dead if T-Roar isn't set.

Also, what's with the flaming from some of you? Seriously. You don't even know most of us.

Okay, lets dumb it down:

You play me, you are the idiot. You set 3 traps, i play heavy storm. You go 'awww dur shouldn't have done that, imma think next time yah'

If storm was banned 'Dur i set 6 BAJILLION TRAPS cause HeCAn'T DO ANYhhnklvWEH;N'

Now which of those scenario's makes YOU the retard become better at the game?

Problem is, no-one uses Lightning Vortex nearly as much as Raigeki or Dark Hole in their prime. The whole point of Heavy Storm is that it is cost free, which pretty much garuntees it a spot in every deck, and therefore forces everyone to play smart because of that. You slap a cost on, it's usage drops, and so good playing goes down.

Because monsters make a MASSIVE impact on this game. that's why dark hole has been dead and gone for a long time.

S/t's are expendable. Monsters aren't. Simples!
