Milk-Chan
J-Rock.Even though I can't understand it, that stuff is generally more hardcore in a sense, and actually sounds good.British Rock > American/J-Rock

FeralSnake
You can't say J-Rock, or American rock, there are too Many Forms, of Rock. Religious RockMetalClassic RockPunk (Which I think The All American rejects are) And So on, I guess J-Rock is it's own Type, but really, there are too many Types of Rock you can't just say "American". harhar
Why would you pick The All American Rejects as an American Rock example? They're quite horrible and there are waaay better bands you could have picked.Either way, I still go with American Rock. The Dark One
Both are great, both as genres, and in regard to the specific examples you listed. However, I tend to listen to more hardcore stuff or lighter stuff.
Slash
Bad American Rock example is bad...=/But I do prefer any kind of American Rock to J-Rock, as bad as it might be.
Tabris
Both selections suck grand balls. But regardless. I don't discriminate between nationalities - in mine pursuit of excellent music, I've dug up thousands of albums from obscure acts all around the world, from Solomon Linda & the Evening Birds (most famous for their "Mbube", which morphed into Pete Seeger's Weavers' "Wimoweh" and then "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" to the core of the '70s oppositionists Rock in Opposition (organized by Chris Cutler and composed of Cutler's Henry Cow, Samla Mammas Manna, Etron Fou Leloublan... and three other bands whose names escape me).
