-Griffin
This is just an idea to encourage less people on YCM, especially the newer members, to break the rules. When a member is banned, even when not permanent, I propose that instead of changing their user title to 'banned', it is changed to 'banned for '. For example, someone could have 'banned for double accounting' or 'banned for posting inappropriate content' ect when banned. This gives a direct example to members of why people are punished and would hopefully discourage them more strongly about doing anything which could be classified under that action. So in the above examples, even the newbs who didn't read the rules would now know not to double account.I don't expect this would stop all problems on YCM, but I do think that it could help people to obey the rules a bit more often. As a nice side bonus, we never have to deal with a load of posts asking 'why is X banned?' Just throwing an idea out there.
GraveHorizon
I totally agree with that. It's kind of like someone walking around with a sign on them stating "I LIED" or "I STOLE". Awesome, and way less to complain about.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Although it would save the moderation team a lot of PMs asking why a certain user got banned, it's like public shaming in reality. Plus, why a certain user got banned is solely between the banned member and the moderator who did it. No one else needs to know If you want to know why a member was banned, PM a mod. They'll know. ~Sorry, no support~

Mindscatter
That won't make a HUGE difference, but would be easy to implement. Support.
Cyber Altair
Then I, Haris and the cool guys will have a huge list under our name. Also some people might have gotten over that and they may be unfairly judged over something they did in the past. No thank you.

Exiro
Although it would save the moderation team a lot of PMs asking why a certain user got banned' date=' it's like public shaming in reality.[/quote'] If someone does something - anything - in a public community, he automatically agrees to not being ashamed of it and it should be no problem at all for everyone to know of it. If it is, he simply shouldn't do it. Plus' date=' why a certain user got banned is solely between the banned member and the moderator who did it. No one else needs to know[/quote'] Griffin already explained why it can also matter for other people. It can make a good example for newbs, and it can spare a lot of time for mods. Do you have a reason why the ban reason shouldn't be public? Then I' date=' Haris and the cool guys will have a huge list under our name.[/quote'] So what? Also some people might have gotten over that and they may be unfairly judged over something they did in the past. If someone is not planning to forgive you for what they did in the past' date=' then you shouldn't make him unable to not forgive you by simply not letting them know what you did. It's their decision. Why would a mod waste his life doing that I don't know. Maybe for the exact reason the OP used in the suggestion? >_> EDIT: Also, I support. Guest JoshIcy
A ban is not public knowledge, nor will or should it ever be.The fact that we offer you all to PM us about Bans is more than applicable.
