The Difference Between Light and Dark

Mark sat down with a heavy sigh. He had just finished cleaning his uncles card shop... The entire card shop, the outside, the inside, even inside the display cases. Mark had never worked so hard in his life, but it was worth it. His uncle had promised him 3 copies of THAT card. The card he needed to finish his deck. He looked around the shop one last time, admiring his work. He left the shop, and started to lock up. As he left the gate he turned back to the shop and noticed something. There on the roof, next to the skylight was a shadow. Mark suddenly remembered the news about a card theif on the prowl, and he dashed back to the shop, strapping on his Duel Disk as he ran. "I am not letting you get in between me and those cards" mark thought as he unlocked the front door. He entered the shop to see a man hanging from the skylight.

 

"What, exactly, do you think you are doing here!" Mark shouted, starteling the Theif.

"Well I was going to steal all the rare cards in this shop, but now I am going to have to kill you." the theif replied, decending to the floor.

"Do you only steal cards, or can you attempt to play." Mark said, activating his duel disk.

"Oh, I can play. And when I beat you, I will take all your cards too." the thief said, strapping on and activating a bladed duel disk.

 

Mark-8000 Theif-8000

"if your so confident, then I will go first." Mark said, as he drew his sixth card. "I summon Alien Warrior, and play two facedowns!" As Mark spoke, two vertical cards appeared at his feet, and a beast with silver armor appeared, growling viciously. (1800/1000)

 

"Your no match for my fiends kid, just give me your deck, and I may spare your life." The theif taunted as he played his cards. "I summon goblin king, give him an axe of dispare, and set three down cards. I end with the Pot of Greed, Your move shorty." A tiny goblin appeared on a little throne. The goblin was holding an axe that was way to big for it. (1000/0) He hovered over the three facedowns that protected him.

 

Mark-8000 Theif-8000

"You just used a banned card!!" Mark was infuriated by the theif's lack of respect for the rules.

"Kid, I am a theif, do you think i care what cards konami banns?" The theif chuckled softly

"Well if you can play Pot, then so can I!" Mark said. "I activate spider's web, this lets me activate pot of greed from your graveyard." Mark drew cards, and said "next I attack your Goblin King with my mighty warrior!" At Marks command the silver beast charged the little goblin.

"I activate my trap card. Go Bark of the Dard Ruler!" The theif shouted over the roar of the Alien Warrior. Dark Ruler Ha Des appeared behind the goblin king. "by paying 900 lifepoints I drop your Warriors attack by the same amount!" Ha Des let out a shriek that caused Alien Warrior to stop and cover its ears. Goblin King took the opportunity to destroy the weakened warrior.

"You just activated my warriors effect." Mark said with a grin, as two pink aliens attached themselves to the Goblin King.

"I know all about your A-counters, but you didn't know about this combination." the theif said, disgusted by the creatures attached to his monsters. "I activate Scapegoat and DNA Surgery to change them all to fiends." as the theif spoke, the four furballs appeared. As DNA Surgery flipped up, the Sheep tokens grew fangs and bat wings.

"What's the point..." Mark thought to himself, but as he looked at the field he realized the point. The Goblin Kings attack points were at 5000. "You got to be kidding me, 5000?" Mark said in amazement.

"That's right kid, he gains 1000 for every other fiend of the field, and he has to be destroyed last. Face it kid, you cant win." The thief said smugly.

 

Mark-7900 Theif-7100

"Its still my turn." Mark said, " and I activate the continuous spell cards; "A" Cell Incubator, and Code A Ancient Ruins" As Mark played the cards, a Labratory appeared on his left, filled with beakers and test tubes and a Temple appeared on his right, housing a super computer. "Now don't blink, cause you might miss me!" mark taunted the thief as he played his next card. "I remove the two A-Counters from your Goblin King to Special summon Alien Overlord!" The two pink creatures left the goblin king and became a shimmering blue portal. A orange beast with six arms and purple armor steped out of that portal and roared. (2200/1600). "next, my incubator grows two A-Couters to replace the ones I lost, and My Overlord Give an A-Counter to each one of your monsters." Mark smirked, he had this guy right where he wanted him. The goat tokens were being assulted by A-Coutners as big as them, and the Goblin king had one attached to his head. "Next I activate Crop Circles, sacrifice my Overlord, and summon another overlord. My NEW overlord gives an A-Counter to each of your monsters." A second A-Counter attached to each monster on the thief's field. "I liked that move, I think I'll do it again!" Mark said as he activated his second Crop Circles trap card. The overlord before him shattered and reformed into a third Overlord, who sent yet another A-Counter to each of the theif's monsters. "I have to say," Mark laughed. "i have never seen a sheep token with three A-counters on it, but now I've seen four of them!" The tokems were completly lost in the pink mush that was A-Counters, but the Goblin King only Looked slightly annoyed.

"All these counters aren't going to do you much good kid." the thief said angerily.

"Well lets see if a few more can help!" mark said. "I activate "A" Cell Scatter Burst to destory my overlord and give you six more A counters." The orange monster exploded into six bits of pink flesh that attached themselfs to the thiefs monsters. "Now for my Aincent ruins!" Mark said, "it gains a counter because I destroyed my Alien, and I remove two counters from my incubation chamber to bring my overlord back." The Overlord returned, but the incubator still showed two counters. Mark laughed at the Thief's confusion. "My incubator grows a counter for each one i remove remember?" Mark jeered at him. "Now my overlord gives all your monsters another A-Coutner, and i destory him again with another scatter burst." When the smoke cleared, the monsters were completely covered in A-counters. each of the Sheep had 6 counters, and the King himself had 8 tokens.

"Are you done yet!?" The theif yelled.

"almost!" mark said cooly. "there is a total of 36 counters on the field!, 4 on my side, and 32 on your side."

"just get on with it!" the thief shouted

"As you wish!" Mark shouted right back. " I activate "A" Cell Big Bang!"

A huge explosion shook the shop, as all the a counters exploded simultaneously. "for every A-counter on the field, you take 200 points of damage. Game over!" Mark yelled, but then he realized that the thief was unconcious. "I guess it was too much for him." Mark thought as he walked over to the Duelist thief but, as he approached, the body of the theif dissolved into nothing...

One day Mark was at a card shop when a thief arrived. Jumping quickly from petty trading card theft to murder, the thief initiated a card game, because he had brought his own deck of cards with him but had left his knife at home. However, he was bamboozled by the unprecedented "combination" of Alien Warrior's effect with Alien Warrior's effect, and so he eventually lost and turned to dust. THE END.
