shadowferret
Chicky attacks directly, returns Soul-Devouring to hand. Play it again next turn. Meow? ....>_>I just thought... if you return it to the hand, would the effect disappear? Or would the opponent still skip their Draw Phase? 「tea.leaf」
Actually, if you think about it, this is easier to set up than the Alien variation. However, Chick has crap for ATK, where as the Alien doesn't.
Great Unclean One: VK
I like this build.....only weakness is killing him/her.
OmegaWave
This wont work. SDBS has a continuous effect type. That type of effect becomes null once it leaves the field.
Jericho
This wont work. SDBS has a continuous effect type. That type of effect becomes null once it leaves the field. I think the point is to activate it multiple times.
jackmen10
It doesn't work anyway.Chick activates before Soul Devouring, returning it to the hand before it can do anything....I found this ages ago, I was sad when I realised it doesn't work. OmegaWave
But SDBS effect doesnt have any effect once it's returned to your hand. It has a continuous effect type and the rulebook states that once the card leaves the field, it's effect becomes Null and Void. Your opponent's Draw Phase is not skipped because the root of that skip is no longer in play.

Keep it on the field for the first turn. Then return it the next. No you're an idiot.It. Doesn't Work.Okay, so here is your turn.1. Summon Chick.2. Equip with Bamboo sword.3. Activate Soul Devouring.4. Deal damage with Chick.5. Chick activates, let's assume you return Soul Devouring to your hand.6. Nothing happens, Soul Devouring is no longer in play, opponent can draw next turn. Now go back to 5. and assume you didn't return it to your hand.6. Soul Devouring activates, opponent can't draw next turn, Lock executed? Not even close.7. Opponent skips turn, can't do anything.8. You attack directly with Chick.9. This time you HAVE to return Soul Devouring to your hand, or it will be destroyed.10. Nothing happens, Soul Devouring is no longer on the field.11. Opponent draws, Lock broken. If you DIDN'T return it to your hand the second time, it would have been destroyed, then: Lock broken. Yata Lock is highly overrated anyway. In this day and age without Delinquent Duo and Confiscation, no one is stupid enough to get rid of all the best cards in their hand all in one go, and just sit there twiddling their thumbs until they draw another good card. Assuming it DID work (which it doesn't), this is a 3 card combo, which requires dealing damage with a 1000-ATK monster, it relies on 2 Spell cards which remain on the field, which can easily be Trunad'd, Storm'd, MST'd, Breaker'd, Icarus'd, Lyla'd, etc... one of which cannot be searched outside of Sarcos and D.D. Capsules. Bad combo is bad.
