Elphin the Raven and Dark Creator

Recommended Posts

All of the cards that you mentioned (except DC) are horrible so they shouldn't be run.

I don't know for creator, because I haven't played BWs at all, but he doesn't sound like a good idea at all. They have no way to fuel their grave fast so he would only be summoned late game ... which didn't exist in the last few formats.

Should not be in standard Blackwing decks.

Same goes with Against The Wind' date=' Fake Feather, and Raptor Wing Strike.

Fixed and true, minus DC which is good at around 1.

"Blackwing Decks" basically means "Vayu Turbo Decks" now' date=' considering that the previously "standard" Blackwings are totally f***ed.

Not really. My standard BWs still run fine.

EXTREMELY CONVINCING. Like, in an actual competitive atmosphere. =p

That's what I mean!

Dark Creator is good in blackwings. If you can't meet his condition' date=' you're probably winning anyway. If you can, you'll be glad you had him.

If you can, you're already dead. "Standard BWs", back when they were actually standard, were about accumulating cards until you could go for game. Either the swarm you lay out when you're ready to move in for the kill wins you the game or loses it.

If your opponent was able to destroy your swarm to the point where you can meet TDC's condition, they've developed enough to handle it.

Cards like lightning vortex exist, sir. You are making very sweeping generalizations about duels involving BWs, but having played blackwings for the whole of last format I know how many times my field has been wiped by cards like JD, DAD, Gyzarus or just bigger swarms, without it being game. Drop a couple whirlwinds and you can easily get five in the grave, hell if your opponent has even a mere torrential tribute it is enough to meet this card's condition.

If for instance your opponent has JD and nukes, you can bring out DC and grab Gale, halve it, then run over it with DC completely reversing the duel's advantage. This happened a few times in playtesting and every time I felt DC was worth running. It's a matter of preference to run him imo but he is by no means terrible. He can be used in many more situations than DAD can and DAD is universally run in blackwings. BTW, last jump a build w/ DC top 16d.
