ENSIFERUM ENSIFERUM!!:D

Well depends what you're into...

If you like medieval-inspired Folk then there's a lot of good stuff from Germany.

Schandmaul

Subway to Sally

Ragnarök

In Extremo

Haggard

Corvus Corax

Saltatio Mortis

Schelmish

Taunusheim

...

Generally I'd say

Ensiferum

Finntroll

Elvenking

Amorphis

Skyforger

Svyatogor

Eluveitie

Battlelore (if you like Tolkien)

Korpiklaani

Týr

Vintersorg

Moonsorrow

Funeral Dawn

La Caruta di li Dei

Gwyllion

Asathor

Odenwrath

Lamentu (Ethnic/African Folk Metal)

Alestorm (Pirate Metal)

Opera IX and Moonspell have some Folk songs too.

Maybe Midnattsol but I've never figured what's so great about them...

A really good band I discovered lately: Gaia! (on't mix them up with other bands, there are a lot out there with that name)

It's Metal with old Korean elements.O_o

If you're into new stuff try them out.

Well, Opal pretty much covered most of them... But, a few she didn't mention...

Heol Telwen, Cruachan, Svartsot, Odroerir, Pagan Reign, Yggdrasil, Wolfchant, Glittertind, Belenos, Windir (but, they're more or less viking metal), Thorondir, Mithotyn, Finsterforst, Fferyllt, Dark Forest (though, they're more viking/pagan metal), and Crom.

If you're into softer folk and ambient folk and whatnot, check out Vali, October Falls, Tenhi, Equimanthorn, Of The Wand & The Moon, and Empyrium.

Primordial is a mandatory Folk Metal band.

Get their latest two albums' date=' [i']The Gathering Wilderness[/i] and To The Nameless Dead.

It's a combination of Black Metal and Folk Metal, kinda. Very f***ing epic.

This may come as a surprise, but I've not listened to much Primordial. I've heard mixed reviews and never gotten around to listening to them.

Their first few albums aren't really worth getting at all. The Wilderness Is Gathering was an overall good album, and To The Nameless Dead was way overhyped by fans and became really overrated. I didn't even know about them till I got Metal Blade's free summer sampler last year at Mayhem Festival. The negative reviews are the ones by people who think it's overrated.

They are very good, but they are overrated.

Also, their singer is just plain awesome.
