A "You buy cards, go kill yourself" Discussion

And then theres the Beckett/TCG/Card Sale Price Magazines piles that declare "Dark Armed will be 400! Judgment will be 200! Pluto Is not a Planet!"

I lol'd.

My answer to expensive cards/decks is simple:

  1. Buy a cheap' date=' but decent deck.
[*']Take it to your locals. Using the prize, improve your deck, sell the rest.
  2. Rinse and repeat until you've made lots of money off the game and can afford whatever deck you want.

in my opinion, i think that the ban list is ridiculous .. i don't see how it works, it just makes the game worse then how it first started, with blue eyes and dark magician being two the strongest cards out there. back in those days, the game was simple, and easy, not to mention a lot more fun. then they started adding all these .. really dumb cards, and new types of cards. not to mention the anime series got really bland, and over done.

i can almost guarantee you that the ban list was made because players were complaining that it wasn't "fair" how people with the money (like most players) get all the good cards. hence, ban list.

personally i think that the traditional rules, and set of cards (legend of blue eyes, metal raider, etc; etc;) were much better, and a lot funner.

in conclusion, if you don't have the money to buy the good cards, suck it up and duel people at your skill level. simple as that.

The banlist is like correction liquid: Konami gets rid of the overpowered cards they made.

Personally, I wanted to stop playing when GB's came out. With Besti at 1, they're slightly less overpowered.

No really? XP

In response to the first quote of this pyramid.

Banlist =/= childish attitudes towards a child's card game. Ban list was to balance the game and attempt to force skill. However, are players without disposable income going to reach a point where the expensive cards aren't always the better cards?

Why do people complain in yugioh when they can't have what someone else has?

The people who complain that they can't get expensive cards are usually sore losers/noobs. The ones that say that all cards should be common are the people who think the game should be about skill and not money.

So does disposable income make me superior in a game where skill is mandatory? Or better yet' date=' Should it?

Currently, the people who win most games are those who spend plenty of money on cards, and not really the skilled with little money to spend. I'm not saying that the skilled poorer players don't win games, but put them against with some of the Shonen Jump competitors, and there is an extremely high chance they will lose because they can't spend money on the more 'powerful' cards like those competitors.

The game should be about skill, therefore all cards should be common and easy to obtain.

Then how do you compensate for the suckers like me who spent hundreds of dollars for their decks?

A player with a lot of money can also be skilled. I'm just saying that at present, many people are winning with money rather than skill.
