Skippy_Canoe's Random Rotating Image Tutorial | Like WOAH That's Random! ^_^

Recommended Posts

This tutorial will show you how to make a randomly rotating image to use as your avi or in your sig.

[spoiler=Step 1]

Find a group of images you want to make into an RRI (Random Rotating Image). These are mine.

[spoiler=Step 2]

Sign up for a free file hosting website. It must support all files. I recommend Ripway. It can host any file, and best of all, no email confirmation!

[spoiler=Step 3]

Make a new folder in your album. Title it whatever you want. I titled mine Randomavi, even though it isn't an avatar. ^_^

[spoiler=Step 4]

Upload your group of pictures to the folder.

[spoiler=Step 5]

Open this in a new tab or window. The creator of this script is Dan P. Benjamin, Automatic, Ltd.

[spoiler=Step 6]

Press Ctrl + A to select everything on the page, then copy it.

[spoiler=Step 7]

Open up Notepad, and paste it in. Save it as "rotate.php".

[spoiler=Step 8]

Upload the code into the new folder on your file hosting account.

[spoiler=Step 9]

Use the direct url and img tags to make it into an image, like this.

[img=http://h1.ripway.com/SkippyCanoe/Randomavi/rotate.php]

[spoiler=Step 10]

This should be the result. Refresh the page several times to see it in action.

rotate.php

Reps are always appreciated! ^_^

You know how many people asked me to make this? If someone still used that tut, it would be on the first page. I'm not going to search to see if a tut was made on this 100 years ago. I'll credit the script creator, but no one else bothers to use the search bar. Do you think when making this tut I thought...

"I'm going to make a tut to replace a really old one I found when searching!"

OR

"I want to make a tut that's been requested of me. I'd better make sure no one made this 100 years ago!"

Sorry, but let it go. I'm not gonna get this locked because you're acting negative. I bet you searched for the tut just to see if you could post that here.
