Dark
THIS IS NOT A RELIGIOUS DEBATE. MAKE IT INTO ONE AND I WILL REPORT YOU TO A MODERATOR, AND NEG YOU IF I HAVE ANY REPS LEFT FOR THE DAY. Would you rather believe in what other people tell you, or what you tell yourself? Other people neither means smart-ass scientists or dumb-ass hobos. Dark
That's not an option unless you consider that under what you tell yourself.
Marisa Kirisame-ze
Both, because sometimes my own anticipations are wrong, and if it wasn't for my friends and family, I would be lying to myself over certain things, but not know it. But if I truly needed to pick something, it'd be myself. Because I can't take the lies others would tell me, and I know many people irl that'd make me miserable by feeding me lies. I hate socializing with anyone besides my close friends anyway >.<
Dark
So, more often than not, you listen to your own instinct over what others say. Now, replace a random person with someone that you trust. Would you still listen to yourself?
Marisa Kirisame-ze
Yeah, I feel like I would. In life you learn what true trust is. You give your trust, they behave, you give more of your trust, then they start to loose it. After going through trusting many people in life, I learned that you can only trust yourself without a doubt.

Dark
I listen to what others say and weigh it against my own judgment. At the end of the day, however, who would you place your trust in? I would like to see HORUS' response to this question.
OMGAKITTY
It depends on what the subject matter is, and who is telling me. I tend to trust people like doctors and teachers automatically (as does most of society), and doubt shady looking people like the homeless, or someone wearing a trenchcoat. So again, it depends. Dark
Basically, you are saying that it all depends on the subject and who you are placing trust in. Meaning you would always place your trust in a doctor while discussing health? Or not always?
OMGAKITTY
For the most part, yeah I would. If a doctor comes to me (after examining me, of course) and tells me I have cancer, then yeah, I'd probably believe him. It all depends on circumstance though. If I'm in some sort of seedy-looking hospital, and the doctor is unshaven and dirty looking, and is trying to charge me an exorbitant price for treatment of a disease I've never heard of before...I might get a consultation, you know? Infinitus
I have my opinions and theirs debate in my head, and I decide which ones are more logical. A lot of times, though, one is so idiotic I immediately choose the other choice.
-Berserker-
I only trust the TV and the Internet.Actually, I find hard to trust myself, cause I have one of those brains that never stop working at 1000 mph, and so, I change my point of view every 5 seconds.Ehm... Forget what I said, I changed my mind.
Dark
@ OMGAKITTY: So will there ever be a time where you trust someone 100% of the time in that exact given situation? Assuming, of course, the person you are trusting does not stay the same.
OMGAKITTY
Which situation? The seedy looking hospital?I'd trust the guy if he was like a family doctor that I have known for years or whatever. Or are you talking about the hospital scenario in general? I'd probably trust any doctor at a major hospital (ie St. Vincents, etc)
Dark
Any situation. But don't say crap like you are at the Grand Canyon and someone told me it is deep, so I will trust any person who says that. Because you also know it is deep, so you are trusting yourself as well. I am meaning FULL trust on the other person, even though your instinct says otherwise.
OMGAKITTY
There aren't too many people. I have some friends that I have hung out with since I was six. I would trust any of them (with serious stuff, they're still prone to a good prank, lol). I would trust my parents with my life. I don't agree with them on a lot of things, but I know that they're looking out for me. Those friends I mentioned a sentence earlier? Their parents too. Dark
So pretty much the only people you would 100% trust in a situation pertaining to them would be parents and friends' parents.
