W00T! SOMEONE POSTED!!!

On-topic: I run a CB deck as my main. They have so much control and their Crystal Abundance either means the match is over or it will be next turn since there's no recovering from a field nuke and then your opponent summoning a bunch of monsters.

Your opponent doesnt summon monsters when you use Abundance 0.0 you summon CB monsters 0.0

Crystal Beasts, are pretty much good, they have a game style that doesnt **** you up except for your Spells and traps, which mainly CB users rarely use, sure you have a Negate attack here, and a Torrential Tribute there, but over all, they rule

A fun little archetype that for some reason can't seem to crack the top anything of any major tournament. They've got a lot of excellent support, now all they need is a good beatstick to plow their way to victory. (and for anyone who mentions Rainbow Dragon and Hamon, I said GOOD beatstick)

They lack a win condition that can be pulled out without running the shitty CBs.

AKA' date=' what Pika said

They have two such win conditions - Abundance swarm for game and Ruby swarm for game. They also have Hamon, who is terrible, but who at least doesn't require Cobalt Eagle and the like to be run.

A lot of the variants don't even make sense. One that I remember seeing several times was Crystal Monarchs, which was based on using Crystal Promise and Crystal Beacon to generate Tribute Fodder for Raiza and pals. I still don't understand why on earth anyone would bother, since the two themes have no real synergy, and the Tributed monster doesn't go to the s/t zone.

Incidentally, Crystal Beasts need more good support, and they will never get it.

The biggest problem with Crystals as far as I can see is that they, for the most part, are nothing but worthless Vanillas while on the field, and the only one who does have an effect that you can activate (Cobalt Eagle) has a horrendously disgusting effect.

This, plus the facts that:

1) If the opponent has spell/trap removal, the Crystal Beast player has trouble. If the opponent has mass or reusable spell/trap removal, the Crystal Beast player essentially autoloses.

2) The Field Spell's decent effects don't become available unless you're already doing really well.

3) Of their two win conditions, one doesn't clear the opponent's field (which is a major problem when none of your monsters hit for over 2000), and the other basically forces the Crystal Beast player to scoop if it is negated (since the four-gem cost is already paid).

4) Only destruction puts gems in the spell/trap zone. Synchro Summoning, Tribute Summoning, and even some Crystal Beast-exclusive support all just let the monster rot in the Graveyard.

5) Their +0 draw card contradicts their win condition by emptying their spell/trap zone.

6) It isn't just their monsters that are Vanillas; most of their support has extremely mild effects, mostly based around giving the user more gems, and very little of it directly harms the opponent.

I know that. I run quite a few different Crystal Beast decks. I've had 3 copies of each CB card since their very first pack. I was saying this "there's no recovering from a field nuke and then your opponent summoning a bunch of monsters." thinking of the opponent. As in there's no recovering for them.

And as for the rest of your posts, most of what is said is true. But if you're good at running CB decks, your S/T zone will never be clogged. And, by the time it starts to get clogged, you'll either have AC-RR or you will have drawn Crystal Abundance.
