Cosmic Gradius, new Gradius concept and new equipment system

First, if you read this and feel this deck is too powerful, I do feel the same way. Degrading these cards effect is a simple task. What I want to tell you, is the new concept and game play revolving this deck.

 

[Gradius Light Bringer]

4 STARS /LIGHT

Machine/Effect

ATK 1600/ DEF 1500

 

When this card summoned you can select a "Equip Pack" card from your deck, or hand to be placed beneath this card in faced-up position. Only one card can be placed beneath this card. If a new card is sent beneath this card, sent the old card to the graveyard.

 

 

[Gradius Fata Morgana]

4 STARS /FIRE

Machine/Effect

ATK 850/ DEF 850

 

If this card selected as an attack target, negate the attack, return this card to its owner hand, then return this card to its original space and position when the phase ends. Only one card can be placed beneath this card. If a new card is sent beneath this card, sent the old card to the graveyard.

 

 

[Gradius Deep Diver]

4 STARS /WATER

Machine/Effect

ATK 1850/ DEF 1850

 

If this card is affected by an activation of effect, switch control of this card, and return it at the end of turn at its previous space. Only one card can be placed beneath this card. If a new card is sent beneath this card, sent the old card to the graveyard.

 

NOTE : + If this card is affected by fissure for instance, because fissure's effect only affects

cards which opponent control, this card is not destroyed, and fissure will destroy

another suitable target.

+ If this card is affected by Tribute to the doom or Needle Ceiling for instance,

this card certainly destroyed. These card can also destroy card(s) on your own side.

+ If this card is affected by your own DNA surgery for instance, it will switch side

only once, because this card only switch side on activation of an effect.

+ If this card affected by by ordeal of traveller for instance, when the ordeal of traveller's effect kicks in, this card will switch side, and since the card is lost

to your opponent side, no card would be returned to your hand whether your answer is

wrong or true.

+ If your opponent activates Lightning Vortex, this card would be on your opponent side,

yes, and if not tributed it would returned to your field at the end of his/her turn.

+ This card's effect activated when an effect activates, not only the (first) activation

of spell/ trap/ monster card effect.

 

 

[Gradius Compact Driver]

4 STARS /EARTH

Machine/Effect

ATK 500/ DEF 1850

 

Switch this card's ATK and DEF value at the battle phase, and return its value when not in battle phase. If your opponent activate a trap card, you can send this card on any unoccupied spell/trap card zone as a continous trap card. Only one card can be placed beneath this card. If a new card is sent beneath this card, sent the old card to the graveyard.

 

 

[Gradius Warp Phantom]

4 STARS /DARK

Machine/Effect

ATK 1850/ DEF 800

 

When an activation of a spell or monster card occurs, you can activate this card effect as part of the chain. This card's chain always be the last chain of the chain. Remove this card from play, and return it at its previous space when all of the chain effects resolved. Only one card can be placed beneath this card. If a new card is sent beneath this card, sent the old card to the graveyard.

 

NOTE : + This is an example on Nemesis - Warp Phantom combo.

Chain : Select "Warp Phantom" ==> Warp phantom effect

Solve Warp phantom effect, remove from play warp phantom.

Solve select Warp Phantom, since has already selected, the effect of Nemesis still kicks in, but since it is removed from play, Warp Phantom is cannot be sent

to graveyard.

Return Warp Phantom as continuation of Warp Phantom's effect.

 

+ This card chain always be the last chain.

Chain : Summon Warp Phantom --> Trap Hole --> Warp Phantom effect (remove) -->

Divine Wrath.

Then, the chain would be like this before resolves :

Summon --> Trap Hole --> Divine Wrath (No ref) --> Removed from play.

As common rule, this card cannot exceed counter trap's speed.

But this card effect is activated when the chain ends, it is always be the last

chain, so, at the end, it can overlap even counter trap's speed before resolving

the chain.

 

 

[Gradius Cosmic Storm]

4 STARS /WIND

Machine/Effect

ATK 1500/ DEF 1000

 

When this card destroyed, place it at field card zone. Treated as a field spell card there, and gain the following effect "When a "Gradius" card is returned to your side of field, you can return a card on the field to its owner hand". Only one card can be placed beneath this card. If a new card is sent beneath this card, sent the old card to the graveyard.

 

NOTE : When this card returned from Field card zone to the monster card zone, the effect still

working. And unlike Lady of Aqua, since the effect is not spesifically said as an effect while this card acted as Field spell card card, when this card is on monster card zone and your opponent activate a field spell, this card effect (the additional effect) still working.

 

 

[interdimensional Mothership "Amatsu"]

5 STARS /EARTH

Machine/Effect

ATK 1300/ DEF 2400

 

You can return an "Equip pack" or "Gradius" card which is originally yours, from your hand or field to your deck, and draw a card from your deck.

 

 

[battleship Gradius Hyperion]

7 STARS /LIGHT

Machine/Effect

ATK 1550/ DEF 1600

 

This card can be special summoned from your hand when you control 2 "Gradius"-es on your field. Once per turn, you can equip a "Gradius" on your side of field to this card as union monster. Only one monster can be equipped to this card. While equipped, this card gain ATK and DEF equal to equipped card. Any card equipped to this card cannot be destroyed as long as equipped to this card. Only one card can be placed beneath this card. If a new card is sent beneath this card, sent the old card to the graveyard.

 

NOTE : + If this card destroyed while unioned with any Gradius, equipped Gradius still left on the spell/ trap card zone, and can be destroyed with any spell/trap card destroyer.

+ This card can equip "Battleship Gradius Hyperion".

+ You can place any Equip pack to this card, since it is also "Gradius"

 

 

[Orbital Cannon Nemesis]

6 STARS /DARK

Machine/Effect

ATK 2500/ DEF 0

 

Once per turn, you can select a "Gradius" monster on your side of field, destroy a spell/ trap on the opponent side of field, then sent the selected monster to the graveyard. This card can't declare an attack, and its effects cannot be negated by another card effect.

 

NOTE : + Try to use this card effect by tributing Warp Phantom and Deep Diver !

 

 

[Equip pack : Defensive Shield]

Normal trap card

 

Place this card beneath a faced up "Gradius" monster card on the field. This card is not sent to graveyard after activation and stay still on the field. If a card on top of this card is targetted by the effect of a spell, trap, or monster card, you can negate the effect by discarding a card from your hand to the graveyard. Also, if a card above this card is destroyed, destroy this card instead. While not beneath of any card on the field, this card is destroyed at the end of turn.

 

NOTE : + This card effect, of course it is a trap card effect, not a monster effect.

 

 

[Equip pack : Time Warp Engine]

Normal spell card

 

Place this card beneath a faced up "Gradius" monster card on the field. This card is not sent to graveyard after activation and stay still on the field. By discarding a card from your hand, a card on top of this card can attack once again. Also, if a card above this card is destroyed, destroy this card instead. While not beneath of any card on the field, this card is destroyed at the end of turn.

 

NOTE : + This card effect, of course it is a spell card effect, not a monster effect.

 

 

[Equip pack : Heavy Weapon System]

2 STARS /DARK

Machine/Effect

ATK 500/ DEF 500

 

Once per turn, you can place this card beneath a faced up "Gradius" monster card on the field.Increase ATK and DEF of a card above this card by equal of this card ATK and DEF. Also, if a card above this card is destroyed, destroy this card instead. While not beneath of any card on the field, this card is destroyed at the end of turn.

 

NOTE : + Since this is a monster card, it can attack on the battle phase even is beneath of a card. And it'll add 1000 ATK to a monster on top of it if you activate limiter removal this turn.

(1600x2 = 3200) + (500x2) = 4200 + (this own card attack +1000) = 5200

 

 

[Gradius Missile]

Spell card

 

You can activate this card when you control a "Gradius" card on your side of field. Destroy a faced-up opponent monster card.

 

 

[Tractor Beam Array]

Quick Play Spell

 

You can return any of your "Gradius" card on the field which not located on your monster card zone to proper space on your monster card zone.

 

 

[Equip Pack Discharger]

Trap card

 

Destroy any "Equip pack" card on your side of field, and any "Gradius" card on top of destroyed card gained ATK by equal to original ATK of each card only on this turn.

 

 

[Cosmic Illusion]

Continous Trap card

 

You can divert an opponent attack to attack your Gradius Fata Morgana once per battle phase.

If you asked me, how 'bout the ol' Gradius and Gradius Option ?

Of course you can use "Equip pack" cards on them. But, without limitation about the number of card which can be sent beneath them. Good? Bad?

The good thing is, your Gradius life is very long due the number of Equip pack beneath.

The bad thing is, the effect of an Equip Pack only affects a card on top of the stack.

 

If you stack somthing like this Gradius --> Pack HWS --> Pack TWE

HWS effect only affects Gradius, and TWE only affects HWS.
