Master Mave II
"So, anyone know when the doctor dude's coming to meet us?" Katy said. "What you mean Seinhem?" James said "He can't astral - project so I doubt he'd be coming here. Rorschach, maybe, but not the doctor." James suddenly felt very stressed out and anxious. He pulled out his sword and rested it on his right shoulder (Vitex is on his left) "You are always so paranoid" Vitex said "In your world you are always scanning and in this world you keep your sword ready. Do try to lighten up, James""Sorry it's just this place is making me stressed. Fly up and see if there is anything else but this forest." Vitex flew up and then came back down. "Still nothing" He said. "Ok anyone know what we should be looking for here?" James said to everyone.
Star Child
I walked around and noticed that the bright sun had slowly been melting the wax trees, made from the mind of this guy. . "It, what do you mean by it? I need more information." The bear walked ahead in silence, completely ignoring me. I groaned and followed as it was my SuperEgo afterall, and probably knew what it was doing.
Altαir
Wayne looked around. No one else was near him, which was odd. What did he do wrong that they did right? In response to his question, a sudden white flash appeared, and Wayne was walking in a forest made of twisted trees. He assumed the lake was just a dream, and continued to walk. After glancing left two times, he spotted silver feathers. "Yes?" Wayne answered in response. What Wayne didn't expect was a bird two times his size to creep up behind him. Wayne's first expression was excitement at the magestic silver glow the bird emitted. He then felt something materialize on his back. He jumped to the feeling of extra weight, but the bird's deep melody while talking seemed to calm him down. "That is your weapon," The bird moved his head towards Wayne's back, and Wayne mimiced the bird's movements. When he couldn't turn his head any more, Wayne removed the quiver from his back. "But handle it with care. The bow has a mind of it's own, and any arrow that touches it can be controlled by this enchanted bow," The bird seemed to scowl at the instrument, especially since arrows usually hunt and kill birds. That wasn't a great match for Wayne. As Wayne collected his stuff, the hawk seemed to disappear. Wayne started hearing voices, specifically the voices of the other ESPers. He started pacing towards them, and was ready to pull out his new weapon, just in case things went wrong.
SPA7X
OOC: I really hate being left behind. It makes it really hard to catch up. I know I've been gone for a day, but all that? Jeez. Akashic looked at all the unconcious bodies on the ground, Then back at Seinhem. "You are a cruel old man deep down, you know that? Making us choose between saving someone or risking our lives. But I will at least try. Mabye it will help." Akashic sat on the ground criss-crossed, focusing like the other boy had described. Suddenly he felt his mind lifting, seperating from his body. He expected to find himself right where he was, in the office off the good doctor, next to the rather frail ill man. Instead he found himself in a huge library, in the middle of nowhere. "Where am I? Seinhem, anyone, hello? Is anyone there?" He started down the labrinth of towering bookselfs, turning at every dead end and continuesly calling out for help. He almost gave up hope when he heard something behind him and froze, looking around for the source of the disturbance. "Ummm, Hello?" He heard childish giggling from around him, reverberating off the books. "This isn't funny, show yourself!" More giggling soon followed. "My your impacient. You'll never get anything that way." The giggling vocie said back. It was slightly femine, almost like that of a small child. "But if you insist, I will show myself, My Master." Suddenly a little brownish blob appeared infront of him, causing him to Fall back against a book shelf. Apon closer look, the thing that startled him had the appearence of a Brown rat, wearing a white scholars robe and... Flying? No, more like floating, dantily and fairy-like. "Hello Master, I'm so glad to Finally meet you!" Akashic looked at the thing questioningly. "Who or what are you? And where am I?" "You mean you don't remember this place? Well I guess it has been a long time... I'm Scrill, At your sevice master. and this is the great library." Akashic looked around, taking in the strange creature's words. "Really, This is a library? Gee, I wouldn't have guessed... Anyway, why am I here? last I knew, i was supposed to be on my way to some old guys mind." Scrill giggled some more. "When you tried to focus your mind you focused so well you were brought here instead. That is the way your powers work." Akashic sighed, realising he over shot his goal. "So if when I focus hard, I come here, How do I Astral Project?" Scrill flew closer, almost face to face. "Simple, silly." On silly, scrill tapped him on the nose and flew back a little. "Because this place exists deep in your mind, all you have to do is Re-focus yourself outside. That's were you made your mistake. You either do that, or take the shortcut." Akashic looked at scrill curiously. "What do you mean shortcut?" "I mean, use his book. The library is like a thought pool, linking all information humans have come upon since the dawn of time. It does so by taking peoples minds, and creates a book for them. Books of people who are still living can be used as a short cut straight to there mindscape. This is the sad mans book." It held up a book and presented it to Akashic. "All you have to do is open it then focus on his mind. It should take you there instantly." Akashic, not wanted to waste anymore time, did as instructed and found himself in the old mans mindscape. In his hand the was the black book known as the record, which he found odd, seeing as he was astral projected. Scrill apparently, had not followed him. "Is this his mindscape?" He looked around at all the bizzare things around him. "It's kind of... freaky."
El Beasto Perezoso
Zenon approached the figure, only to discover that it was a oddly shaped tree."Where are all of the others..." mumbled Zenon, "I know at least some of them followed me in."Zenon looked down, and suddenly realized he was wearing strange gauntlet-like straps around his arms. He lifted them up to his eyes and said, "What are these things?"Those are your Id. Your main weapon in here. Yours has taken the form of sabers that appear from those cuffs when summoned. And in case you haven't noticed this either, your sweatshirt has changed as well.Zenon looked at his hoodie. It still felt the same to him while he was wearing it, but it now looked like thin plates of armor covered it, and wings were folded in the back.Amazed by this strange transformation, Zenon said, "What the??!?! Is this all because I'm in some other guys mind? Hey Huren, do you and all of this stuff change if I was to go into a different person's Mindscape?"I'd doubt it. Your Id, Ego, and Superego all represent characteristics of you, they just take form while in this plane of thought."Well if this hoodie has wings on it now, I should be able to fly and look for the others..." thought Zenon. "Can you follow me on foot Huren?"Of course.Zenon controled the wings as if they were part of his body, and he leapt into the air above the trees. He could see nothing for miles but colorful was forest. He choose a direction and sped off, with Huren following from below.
Master Mave II
James had been sending Vitex up to sweep the surounding area a few times and everytime he came back down he said there was nothing. This time Vitex had spotted something. A boy with wings flying over the forest. "Are you sure?" James asked. "Very sure""Alright, lets go meet this guy then"Vitex dug his talons into James' back and sunk into it, then wings came out of James' back. He jumped up and hovered just above the trees. "There he is" He said, flying towards the boy. James remembered the boy from Seinhem's clinic. Zenon was his name. James spun around and folded his wings around him, then he quickly unfolded them once he was next to Zenon and flew forward alongside him. "Hello there Zenon" James said. Hydra of Ages
Markus glanced around curiously, his fear momentarily forgotten. "It's like something out of a dream..." He muttered, stroking one of the waxed trees. Surprisingly, it twitched, and almost as if in self-defense, curled up into itself like a ball. Markus blinked, and glanced at the pidgeon on his shoulder, who shrugged before growing a rat-like tail. Markus blinked at it. "Do you always do that?" He questioned. The pidgeon shrugged; "Do what?" It said in, once again, a masculine voice. He blinked as he suddenly felt a rush of cold air, crossing his arms. He glanced around, as darkness decended on the bright forest; The trees all seemed to twitch at the temperature, and curled up upon themselves like defensive animals. The overly large sun, now suddenly hidden by the 'ridge' of the land, had apparently set without any regard for actual time. He blinked, feeling a little foreboding. He felt himself reaching backward to touch the weapon on his back, as he glanced around, looking. Something felt... wrong. Something was... watching him? He startled a gasp as a waxy root suddenly crashed through the dirt and coiled around his tail; the pidgeon hooted in indignity as he flinched, the root quickly tripping him up. A chuckle like the sound of rustling leaves was heard from everywhere, and yet nowhere at all. "W-what the h-hell's this?" Markus managed to stutter out, as the trees quivered a bit more... evilfusion
"Dream was my thought exactly, seeing as, I don't know, the guy's asleep," David remarked sarcastically. He gazed around warily, twitching when the surrounding area darkened. David looked at the sky in alarm, noticing the sun had all but disappeared in an instant. "Ooh, spooky," the left head of the green snake around his shoulder purred."This is the part where everyone screams!" the other head hissed gleefully. David didn't reply to the snake(s)? Did they count as one or two? His fists clenched defensively as he looked around warily at the surrounding trees. Something was coming...something was happening. But what? And where? He heard one of the boys let out a gasp and he whirled in Markus' direction, in doing do, he noticed a glint of metal concealed in the fabric of the black cloak he was wearing. He blinked and reached towards the object, examining what appeared to be a small sword with jewels in the hilt. Where did this come from?
shadowferret
What?Something was going on that I don't think anyone understood."Um, Katy... might wanna be careful..." Fuzzy looked nervous by my leg, and his hairs were standing on end.The scenery slowly twisted out of contortion. The trees shrunk, the sun seemed to wilt away into the darkness...It was then that I noticed I had a small dagger at my side. It seemed to be shaking crazily. While I pulled it out and held it, it felt like my mind was being jostled around. I couldn't concentrate very easily. It's like it was beating my head in.... Otaku-sama
Heikichi was peacefully floating around when the forest shunk down and the sun suddenly set. Kipo gripped Heikichi's back even tighter."Ow! Kipo! Let go of me!" Heikichi groaned while loosening Kipo off him. The wind blew in an eerie atmosphere. Heikichi's staff bounced out of his pocket and expanded to full size. It hopped in place, leaning impossibly from side to side, as if looking for danger."What's happening? Is Jackson-san getting scared?"
Altαir
Wayne turned around instantly as the sun set. As if to react, the hawk next to his shimmered. A blinding golden light emitted from it, but then it returned to it's normal state. He looked both ways, then hanged his head in shame. In a flash of silvery feathers, the hawk disappeared. Wayne seemed to go through the same transformation, but didn't know why. As he went to itch his head, Wayne felt a hat. Immediately taking it off, he felt weaker. He placed it back on, and regained strength. "What is happening?" Wayne bellowed, but not too loud. As his eyes focused back to where he was walking, a noticable change in the trees was glued into his eyesight. "This isn't good..." Wayne murmured, as he walked foward in the dark night. Hydra of Ages
Markus let out a loud, scared-sounding yell as the root coiled farther up his leg. The chuckle repeated a little, as some of the withdrawn trees seemed to grow, their branches forming together until they created a humanoid effigy. The wooden statue moved a little, still chuckling in that morbid way, as the lump that was its head grew more gaunt, obtaining human facial expressions. Tendrils of tree branched off from its sides, as gigantic arms literally made of tree trunks were folded across its chest. "Who dares disturb my sanctum?" The creature bellowed, its roots waving back and forth. To scared to do anything, Markus hastilly tried to back away, almost trying in terror. He squirmed a little as more roots started trying to tie him up, and wriggled in a differant direction, the roots still having a firm grip on him... Until the movement dislodged the long weapon from his back, which cut into the root holding him deeply. The wooden creature called out in pain as the area around the cut lost color, becoming brittle and withering a bit. Markus paused, terror momentarilly forgotten as he gaped, easilly able to shrug off te dead root. The pidgeon hooted again. "Well, that were easy." it said, cocking its head (which was now covered in green plumage). The giant wooden being growled at him, forming large fangs made of tree limbs. Markus flinched... and ran. Otaku-sama
Heikichi heard a roar from behind him. Star Child
"What the hell, who yelled?" I looked around for any sign of the others, but saw nothing except for a red bear seeming to growl at a tree. Nothing is normal here, you're used to seeing things as I see them. But this is someone elses mindscape. The bear slashed at the trunk of a huge tree, but mysteriously got it's paw caught in a root, Well I admit, that is strange. All of a sudden the weopon tied to my back was yanked off, knocking me down. As I looked behind me I noticed a tree holding onto it, pointing an end towards me as if it were going to strike. It swung the blade towards me, but right before it touched, it unstiffend and went up the stem of the tree. There it rested, like a snake. Finnally it turned back into a normal sword, severing that limb of the tree. The bear was also able to use it's other paw to cut the roots of the tree near it, freeing itself. evilfusion
David backed away from the nearest tree. After witnessing the attack on the other boy, he was NOT planning on getting too close. Unfortunately, this was easier said than done, and already he was starting to regret coming at all. "You could use that sword," one of the snake heads suggested in almost a snide tone. Yeah, he could use a sword that was less than a foot long, thus requiring him to get within a foot of the attacking tree, OR he could follow Markus' lead and get the hell out of here. "Don't listen to her!" the other head urged. David hesitated."Don't listen to him!" the first head said. David blinked. Didn't they have the same body?"He's lying," the other head insisted. And now they changed the gender term for each other. Great. "What gender ARE you?" David grumbled. "Male or female," both heads said simultaneously. David groaned and turned his attention to the tree...thing. He rather try fighting it than running like a coward.
shadowferret
Okay, can I go home now?I looked behind me right as one of the branches swung. It knocked me in the gut, sending me rolling along the ground for a second."Ouch..." Quickly getting up, I armed myself with the dagger and held it straight out at my assailant -- which happened to be... a giant... moving... tree...?"What the heck is that?!"Large wooden fangs faced me, and it looked as if a tree had taken life and wanted to eat us."Um, I don't think I volunteered to do tree-animal control.""Katy, be careful. Here in the Mindscape, many dangerous things such as this dwell. Duck!" Fuzzy leapt on my head as I crouched down to the ground, avoiding another swing."Your weapon should've become clear to you by now."This dagger? Is that what this feline was referring to?"That is the key to survival in a Mindscape. Step left." I obeyed, dodging another close hit. Having a precog cat was pretty useful."So, you're telling me this thing is supposed to protect me from THAT BEHEMOTH?!"
Otaku-sama
The tree monster simply roared at Heikichi after his peace offering. Suddenly, both his legs were constricted by roots that burst from the ground. Heikichi tried to pull them off, but they simply got tighter."Kipo! Help me! It's got me!" Heikichi cried out. Kipo scrambled to him and fumbled to take out a small wooden wand that had a large spiral on the top."Umm...Hold still!" Kipo said. A small flame crackled out of the wand and licked the roots. The roots immediately recoiled from the heat and went back into the safety of the ground."Thanks Kipo! You saved me there!" Heikichi thanked Kipo while taking holding of his bouncing staff and took a fighting stance. Kipo just stood there, blushing.
Master Mave II
James looked down at the forest and saw it moving. just ahead of him was a giant tree monster and on the ground below him was the other ESPers. James swung his sword at the monster sending a huge air wave toward it. The air wave was very dense, almost solid, and very sharp and easily severed the monsters arm. Two massive roots sprang up from the forest, grabbing his legs and pulling him down to the ground. More roots crawled up his legs, but Vitex came out of James' back and shot a few air waves at the roots, freeing James. James jumped and fused with Vitex again, now flying toward the monster once more.
El Beasto Perezoso
As Zenon was flying, he could see the trees begin to squirm and twist. Then the sun suddenly set, and the MindScape was blanketed in darkness. Zenon flew lower to make sure Huren was okay."Huren! Are you all right down there?!?!""I'm fine, these trees are just squirming for some reason."Suddenly, roots grabbed at Huren, but he was able to dodge them."Run for it!" shouted Zenon."There are too many roots, I can't run!"Zenon didn't know what to do. Suddenly he remembered his swords. He concentrated on saving Huren, and blades instantly extended from the bands. Gripping the handles tight, Zenon swooped towards Huren, and slashed all of the roots binding him. It wasn't long before more sprang up and flailed, trying to catch the wolf."Follow me!" Shouted Zenon. He made another dive, but this time in the same direction Huren had been running. He banked so he wouldn't crash, and kept flying in front of Huren, cutting everything in his path. Suddenly he burst into a clearing, just to be confronted by a massive tree behemoth. He abruptly stopped at the edge of the trees, and Huren walked up behind him."Well?""Well what?? How are we supposed to take down that THING?!?!?""You can accomplish anything in this world. After all, it IS a dream.""Okay... Then let's go."Zenon took off straight up and then charged towards the monsters exposed side. It hadn't noticed yet, so Zenon was able to get a few good hacks into its arm, until a root came up from the ground and slapped Zenon to the ground hard. He went flying backwards to where Huren was standing, and just lay there, motionless.
Altαir
Wayne looked around. Unlike the others, he didn't have anything to slash with. Quickly looking left and right, the roots started to move. In an instant, Wayne was binded by roots constricting his legs. As he attempted to escapt, the giant benemoth creeped up behind him. It probably didn't notice Wayne, but if Wayne didn't move soon, he would be crushed. Quickly reacting Wayne took three arrows from his quiver. He, in a desprate attempt, shot all at once, so at least one would have to hit the beast. As the arrows flew through the night air, a silver aura followed them in a stream of glitter. The arrows seemed to fix themselves on their target, and flew straight into the benemoth's leg. "Oh no." Wayne muttered. The arrows sank right into the leg, as if the leg wasn't there. Even worse, the benemoth's attention seemed to shift. It was looking for the ones that attacked it. Wayne looked back down at his secondary problem, the roots. His leg whitened from the loss of blood. He couldn't keep this up much longer.
Hydra of Ages
The giant effigy bellowed with rage at its various (though slight wounds), the entire wooded body shuddering a bit. Suddenly, the hacks and slashes in his wooden hide had dissipated, as if they hadn't been there before. The being gazed passively at the large chunk of wood that James had separated from it with a lucky strike, and suddenly grew vines from that section of his body, forming another arm the same size and density as the previous one. Markus was white as a sheet as he watched the being regenerate from its damage. "How are we supposed to fight this thing?" He called out in pure fear. "It just regrows anything we cut!" He said, twitching his fingers. A hedgehog near his foot chuckled. "Well, try thinking outside the ball." It said, cocking its bird-like head to the side. Markus blinked, noticing the hedgehog was actually the pidgeon that had been tagging along on his shoulder. He would have questioned its sudden change in form, but decided there were more important matters at the moment. The tree growled and swiped his giant limb across the forest, the trees bending out of its way as the giant wrecking-ball sized limb smashed across Wayne and Heikichi's path, before it batted in the air to hit James. Otaku-sama
Heikichi saw the incoming wrecking ball-like arm and got out of the way well before, but then he noticed that Kipo was still standing in the path of the arm, paralyzed with fear."KIPO! MOVE!" Heikichi yelled as he dashed at Kipo and pushed her out of the way, barely missing the impact of the hammer."Kipo-chan! Are you alright?" Heikichi asked, getting up."Yea...Thank you!" Kipo hastily replied. The tree monster roared again, shaking the very ground, knocking Heikichi off balance. Heikichi got back up."Kipo-chan, trees burn right? I need you to make a fire! Then we can make the tree monster go away!"Heikichi ran off to try to keep the tree monster busy. Kipo was left alone. After pausing, staring at Heikichi doing complicated jumps and strikes against the tree monster, doing nothing but irk the monster. Kipo huffed with determination."Hei-chan needs me! I can't let him down!"Kipo quickly scurried around and started gathering sticks.
SPA7X
Akashic looked around him, trees of some form littered this place but no other forms of life were presant. "Well, I'm here but where are the others? I know I was late but, is it already over?" As if responding to his question, the ground and world around him tremored, and he heard a roar in the distance. "Well logic says go the other way, but something tells me logic doesn't apply here." Taking of into a sprint, he runs straight towards the source of the sound... and right into an oncoming leafy fist. "What in the, Graah!" Akashic was helpless as the fist plowed at him, taking him with it as it went. He hung on for dear life as it swung him around, trying to both hit James and shake him off. shadowferret
I looked in awe as the tree healed all of its wounds."Oh, COME ON! Seriously?!" Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, as the other... ESP'ers were attacking the beast, I noticed a branch coming my way. I can't explain what happened then.I felt a slight burning sensation in my legs. As I looked down, tattoo-like designs swirled down my skin, and I felt as if my legs had a life of their own. The feeling spread throughout my whole body, and I suddenly felt like I could do almost anything. The branch came feet from my face -- before everything seemed to slow down a little. Maybe time had slowed in this dream-like place, or maybe it was the sudden rush of adrenaline I felt. I placed my hands against the branch, pushing up and over, successfully flipping my body over the blow.Fuzzy struggled to hang on to my head, but he stayed there as I mounted the tree branch. I struggled to stay on it as it returned to its position above the creature's "shoulder"?"That's it, Katy. You're getting it. Tap into your Ego."I had no idea what he was referring to, but if I had to guess I'd say it was this sudden newfound ability I had. I felt as if I could dodge a bullet and outninja a ninja!Wait, is outninja even a word?
Master Mave II
James noticed the moonster regrow it's arm. "What the hell?" James said, just barely dodging it's new arm. James spun around and flew away from the monster to think for a while. He hovered in the air and thought. If this thing is a tree then it has the same weaknesses as the tree. So, what weaknesses does a tree have? Fire! James flew toward the monster again, this time flying lower. If I can't use fire then there's no point in attacking that thing. Instead I'll have to tell the others and see if any of them can do it. When he reached the other ESPers Vitex shot out of his back and began launching airwaves at the aproching roots, James did the same. He noticed Heikichi's superego doing something. Picking up sticks? Hmm perhaps she has an idea. James ran over to her to protect her from the roots that were crawling up behind her, slashing away and dodging there attacks.
