Akashic looked at the crumpled bald man on the couch. He kinda felt bad for him, his only hope being a bunch of kids (one of which is excessivly young) who barely know what they were doing. The doctor may be insightful, but his methods of teaching were also a bit cruel "Great. Lemme guess, your hoping that by using us, most of which have powers of effecting others minds, we can heal his mind and in response his body? (sigh) I guess it's better than leaving him to die."

bSuddenly, an Idea popped into his head. He reached into his bag and took out the Black book. "Wait, mabye if this book can tell me how to fix a trolley, it can tell me how to fix this man as well!" He opened the book, revealing the first few pages seperated from the rest and filled with info on trolleys and their repair. Thats when he turned to te next page and found... absolutly nothing. The next pages were all blank. "Oh, right. I don't know how to work it... this could be a problem." He looked around at the others. "Anyone else got a plan? My doesn't seem to be working so well..."

"I think I have an idea." James said, now looking at the doctor. "When we astral project we leave our bodies behind and can return to then any time we wish right? Does that mean that, instead of returning to our bodies, we can enter this man's?" James looked back at Stephan "If is problem is a mental thing like stress, going into his mind could help."

Seinhem smirked. "Very good James, you're quick on the uptake. Yes, it is possible to enter other's minds while in Astral Projection. Well, it's normally impossible- the conscious mind erects barriers that eject foreign thoughts from entering them. It's the reason that only the most experienced Psychics can read minds past what Scanning provides."

He plucked his bronze-clad spectacles from their perch on his nose, and quickly wiped them off with his lab coat. He grinned when he looked up at them again.

"The dreaming mind, however, is open... ready, prepared. While dreaming, we accept all sorts of things that don't belong to our world, to our mindset. You see, my dear youths, every person's mind is a unique realm all its own. Physics and laws, the shaping of the rules, the way things react... all of us have our own ideal area where all that makes sense to us, and only us, lies there. People aren't meant to intrude on those barriers; that's why a conscious mind cannot be taken over. Our own minds would reject the reality of a foreign realm, as the two sets of rules would become a paradox. However..."

He paused again, for dramatic effect. His bright green eyes twinkled in the dull light from the lamp post nearby, casting interesting shadows on his face.

"While asleep, like I mentioned, these rules are relaxed. We're able to see past things like 'logic' and 'reason', and develop with fluidity and insight."

He gestured to the man laying upon the bed. "Stephen here was prepared by Rorschach and myself. He lies in a state of twilight, between the world of sleep and the world of the waking. In this mixture between the two, his mental barriers are relaxed enough to the point where you can penetrate them and later leave, without risking being trapped in his mind."

He paused solemnly. "I admit, it will be dangerous. You may have to face the pain of this man before you can remove it yourself. An ESPer's greatest weapon is their emotions- with their emotions, they extend parts of their mind, both illogical and logical aspects, and allow them to affect the area around them. The normal mind is no less like this; While he hasn't a shred of ESP, you will be intruding on his mind, his most sacred sanctum. His emotions, his mental abilities, may try to stop you. His stress, his worries and his fears certainly will, and they will try to drive you away from this mission. It's only though empathy with this man's mind, your own resourcefulness and understanding of your ability when faced with being in an environment consisting entirely of the element you have been gifted with... that your own abilities will grow. I hope to kill two birds with this stone... I want you to help this man, give him the aid no one else can; I can't help him more than I have already, and certainly no other non-psychic has a better chance; and to give you a perspective on what it means to be an ESPer. Perhaps you'll discover why you have your abilities. Perhaps not. But either way, you will learn something, I guarrenty it."

He fiddled his glasses. "In layman's terms, yes, I want you to enter your Astral States and enter this man's mind. Once in there, I want you to identify the source of his stress and destroy it, before returning out here. I want to emphasize that this may be dangerous. I won't force you to do it if you don't want to, but I honestly believe it is necessary for the growth of your ability, and if you want answers, I would say this is where you start looking for them. Once in there, I won't be able to help you. It'll be all up to you to learn. The best teacher, in this case, will be your own experiences."

He paused again. "I've said that I won't force you, so I'll ask now- Is there anyone here who does not wish to help this man, or to enter his Mindscape? I can guaranty you will never get a better opportunity to better understand your gift, and by extension, yourselves."

Markus caught his breath as Seinhem stopped speaking and looked around the crowd. Markus wanted to object; he really did. He didn't ask for this. He didn't want to be responsible for healing this man. He didn't want to risk his life on this and possibly fail.

And yet, he couldn't bring himself to say the words. He felt against this, and yet, something told him that he wouldn't be able to forgive himself later in his life if he bowed out. Something inside him, buried deep, told him that maybe this is the way it was meant to be...

I looked towards the lamp and muttered under my breath, "astral projection...I've only done it twice. The 1st time didn't go so well, I almost got mauled by a huge blood-red bear, but I returned to my body in time. The 2nd time I had more experiance, but the bear still tried to attack, just not as bad as the 1st time. But, earlier today, I think that I might've made peace with the bear." I looked at the patient laying on the couch, "I know I've gone through more suffering than he has, and I haven't enjoyed it. This could be my chance, my 1 chance to change everything..."

, a deep voice bellowed through my head, making it ache, The aches and throbbing stopped as the voice cleared and I realised what I must do, I must do precisely as doctor Seinhem had said. I looked at the doctor, my eyes meeting his, "I will help. I will show this man peace, peace that I've never even felt before."

Heikichi listened carefully to the Doctor as he spoke.

"Hmm...I did notice when I was flying at night that there was a big hole floating around people who were sleeping! I think that's the hole that Seinheim-sensei is talking about!"

Heikichi scampered a little distance away and sat down. He had a face that exumed pure concentration. Suddenly, his body lay limp, his head hanging towards his lap. Heikichi has astral-projected.

Heikichi felt the very familiar feeling that felt like blowing wind across his face as he projected. He saw the room a few feet higher than he usually did, as he was floating. Suddenly, a staff bounced towards him like a pogo stick.

"Hello Ruyi-san!"

The stick suddenly jumped and shrunk down to ths size of a toothpick and jumped into Heikichi's pocket. Then, Heikichi almost lost balance. There was a girl that looked the same age as Heikichi who had just glomped Heikichi from behind.

"Hei-chan! I'm so glad you're back!" exclaimed the girl.

"Aah! Kipo-chan! I'm glad to be back too!" replied Heikichi as he removed Kipo from his back.

"Where are we going now Hei-chan?" asked Kipo, very excitedly.

"Seinheim-sensei wants me to go into Jackson-san's mind."

Kipo looked over at Stephen, where a hole just enough to fit a man floated above him.

"Oooh...It looks scary to go in there..." Kipo said with a shiver.

"That's ok! We're gonna have friends come with us! We might have to wait because they haven't flown around before."

David listened, intrigued, but frowned to himself. What was being described was fascinating, and while he could not deny that the element of danger was worrisome, he really did want to see if there was anything that could be accomplished through whatever the doctor was describing. Astral projection, on the other hand, puzzled him. He did not have a clue how to accomplish that, but in retrospect, he considered that he had accomplished it previously, even if unintentionally. But...that seemed too much like a dream to have been real.

David's expression became solemn, and he nodded to affirm, more to himself than anyone else, that he was willing to go through with the plan.

Wayne was full of questions. "Doesn't the overload of different minds all compacted in one brain hurt the target? Can this man see us while in his mind? What if we remove the wrong thing? What if his brain shuts down while were inside, and he dies?" Wayne was getting nervous, last time Astral Projection was used by him, his mind was temporarily split. Wayne was asleep for days after that. Wayne sighed. He looked around the room, then left the room, but not in anger, hatred, or sorrow.

In the cluttered office, Wayne paced the part of the room where the floor was visible. He glanced at a window, recognizing it was night. His mood turned to blank wonder, amazed by the night sky.

Seinhem shook his head. "Wayne, I don't know all the answers when it comes to this. Astral Projection is a mystery to even me... There are some things that only you can learn on your own." He paused, then shook his head. "Your mind is contained in your own body, so it doesn't put pressure on his brain. It's like, for example, networking the CPUs of two computers together." He hesitated. "Removing the wrong thing, as you put it, could seriously damage his mind and personality. I doubt that will be a problem, however. Rorschach has made it clear that the problem always makes itself abundantly clear; It wouldn't be a problem if it weren't abundantly clear." He paused again.

"If he dies while you are within him... there is a good chance you will die also, if you don't abandon ship as quickly as possible. I won't lie about the risks."

He glanced around. "Have you all made your decision?" He questioned.

Markus sighed, and walked over to Heikichi's body, laying down next to the boy's prone form. He focused for a couple seconds, feeling stupid, until he felt the floor dip away from him.

He winced. Astral Projection wasn't new to him, per say, but he had never done it willingly before. He glided upwards through the ceiling he had fallen through, and hovered near the kid. He blinked as he noticed a long weapon tied to his back; He'd never really had time to examine himself while Astral Projected, but for some reason, he seemed to have a long wooden pole, with a wicked-looking blade tied to his back.

Heikichi was floating around the lab, waiting for something to happen. Something did. He saw Markus project himself.

"Ah! Markus-san! You learned how to fly too! That's great!" Heikichi exclaimed, "Kipo-chan, this is Markus-san! He was called by Seinheim-sensei too and now he can fly with us too!"

Kipo simply hid behind Heikichi with a small blush on her face.

Zenon didn't bother to comment on the subject. He hadn't tried to project himself in months, so why would he be able to now? He closed his eyes, and opened his mind. He then re-opened his eyes to discover that he was hovering in the middle of the room. He noticed Markus and Heikichi hovering in the room too, and gave a smile to them.

"So now what?" he asked, "Do we just fly towards his head or something?"

Zenon slowly began to drift towards the man's head, and noticed some sort of hole that grew larger as Zenon approached.

I looked around at all of the other ESP'ers.

"Astral... Projection..." It sounded familiar to me, the more they went on about it. Deciding to try it, I sat next to the young one and the Markus kid and began concentrating. I shut my eyes in effort, and when I next opened them...

Nothing happened.

I was still sitting down.

Concentrating further, I even began to get a bit of a headache. It suddenly disappeared though, as an all-too familiar voice rang in my head.

"Welcome. Pleasure to finally meet you."

"Fuzzy?!" My best friend's voice greeted me as I opened my eyes and saw an ethereal version of the room. Fuzzy, as I call him, seemed to greet me from behind.

Looking backwards, though, all I saw was a cat.

"Yes, yes, I know what you're going to say. Why does this cat have Fuzzy's voice? And why is he here? Well, first off, I'll just say I'm your traveling buddy in this world."

The cat took the words rght outta my mouth.

"And yes, you can just call me Fuzzy. By the way, I'm a little precognizant. So that's why I can tell what you're going to ask. Now, before we get into the specifics, let's step into Mr. Jackson's mind... I'll explain more once we're in."

This cat -- Fuzzy -- was freaking me out just a little. Did I eat a shroom or something?

But as soon as I spotted the others in their ethereal forms, I simply decided to go for it.

James had astral - projected lots of times before and had gotten used to the feeling. James sat down on the floor and astral - projected, it felt like being hit in the back of the head. James got up, leaving his body behind.

A locket appeared around his neck. It was silver with a spiral carved into it, then he held out his hand and pulled a sword out of the air and put it in a sheath that had just materialised on his belt. A white hawk appeared on his shoulder "Hello everyone" It said in a soft voice "my name is Vitex, a pleasure to meet you all."

"Vitex this is-"

"I know who they are James."

"Ofcourse. I'm assuming that we just fly through that hole right?"

David frowned, looking around at the others, "Should I assume people are dropping into comas of their own free will?" he muttered sarcastically. He really hoped they were, anyway. Based on the context of the previous conversation, this seemed the most likely conclusion. "Care to illuminate how they're doing it?"

, the voice now throbbing in my head again, . I sighed in frustration, "fine" I muttered to myself. I turned towards him and explained, "you just sit down, focuse your energy into your spirit, and imagine your spirit leaving your body. If this is done correctly you will project your spirit out of your body, leaving your body wide open for anything to happen to it until you return for it. You spirit cannot disturb human-world objects, but can do anything to spirit-world objects. When you are in astral projection you will see an animal, I believe this to be your spirit guide. When you are ready to return to your body, just walk or fly back into it, whichever you like best."

Makrus nodded slightly shyly to the shades of the other ESPers, as he looked back towards Seinhem. He blinked when he saw a small bird, similar to a dove, maybe a finch, perched on the psychiatrist's shoulder. It gave a pleasant coo and ruffled its feathers.

Markus cocked his head at the bird for a couple seconds, before he figured that had to be the true form of Rorschach. He blinked when he noticed a similar bird perched on his own shoulder, this one with silvery feathers. "Who are you?" Markus asked with a slightly confused tone.

The bird hooted back like an owl, despite looking nothing like one. "Who am I? What am I? What are you?" It shot back. "When are you?" It said after a moment of thought, cocking its head to the side.

Seinhem nodded. "That's a decent enough explanation, David. Just close your eyes, relax, and focus on leaving your body. Your gift will do the rest." He said casually.

"That's my guess," said Zenon to James, "I'm going in, see you all in there. Hopefully at least."

He drifted towards the hole which continued to grow as he approached. Suddenly, he was completely swallowed up by it, encased in darkness. Then a light appeared further down. It grew just as the blackness had, and suddenly, Zenon was blinded by a flash of light. When he regained his sight, he was standing in a forest of some sort. But the trees weren't normal at all. They twisted every which way and we're each a different color.

"Is this... A Mindscape?"

Yes it is.

Zenon turned around to see a black wolf starring him straight in the eyes. It looked identical to the one he had saw the first time he had Astral-Projected himself.

You remember me, don't you Zenon? I'm Huren, your Superego in this plain of thought.

"I thought you looked familiar..." Zenon said, "You're not gonna kill me or anything are you?"

Oh dear no, if I was to do that, it would be killing myself as well.

"Okay then... So now what?" He looked up at the purple sky above them, and the twisted trees on all sides. Where were they supposed to find the thing causing stress on this man's mind?

Heikichi followed Zenon into the hole, Kipo gripping his back in anxiety. They entered a very strange world.

"Hei-chan, I'm scared! Where are we?" Kipo whimpered.

"I think this is the inside of Jackson-san's mind when he's dreaming."

Heikichi floated around and took a good look around. The forest around him looked like trees that were made of Playdoh that some 3 year old ruined.

James followed Zenon and Heikichi through the hole. He found himself in a twisted forest, each tree was a different colour. "We should stay together and wait for the others" James said "Vitex fly up and search tell me what you see"

"Very well James"

Vitex flew above the trees for a while before finally coming down. "There is nothing but multicoloured forest for miles" He said. James looked around and then said "Lets clear this place out a bit" He held out his arms and concentrated. The trees around them bent over, making more room for them.

David nodded seriously, in an attempt to appear grateful. "Very well, then." It was worth a shot, anyway. The others so far had seemed to accomplish it with no difficulty.

He lowered himself to the floor, leaning his back against the wall and closing his eyes. It was simple enough for him to relax, even though his heart was pounding with anticipation. Slowly, he focused his thoughts on drifting from his body, as if rising from a cloud. Moments later, the feeling actually happened, startling him into opening his eyes.

David looked around and then at himself with an expression of casual awe. One of the first things he noticed was the black cloak-like garment draped over his shoulders like a cape, and a scarf tied tastefully around his mouth and neck. He recalled having this look once before, in a dream he had once had. Did astral projection conjure thoughts from dreams?

But what had that one boy said about an animal? David had dismissed that portion of the explanation because it had been irrelevent to his question at the time, but now he was starting to wonder what that had meant.

, and once again the voice was echoing through my entire head. I slightly nodded and closed my eyes, I hope that bear doesn't try to kill me this time. After just a couple of seconds I had left my body, having it plop onto the floor from lack of support, and flew over to the portal into the patient's mindscape. When I entered I was blinded by a yellowish light, but saw a strange, colorful, forest when I regained my sight. Whoa, this place is amazing, "ugh, I hate it here." A searing, burning, pain raced through my every thought and I bellowed out in pain. As soon as I screamed I also fell onto the hard, rocky ground. It turns out that the pain I had just experienced was the pain that the patient feels everyday, I hate it for 'em. The bear re-appeared behind me and walked up to me, "do you wish to make peace? Is that what those visions were about?" , but this time the words didn't hurt me the least bit. I walked over to him and reached out, palm forward, and placed my entire hand onto his head. .

ooc: I know that I said my superego was like me, but I wanna change it's personallity to a strong, but wise, bear.

Wayne stayed behind until everyone was in. He looked around, and made sure everyone Astral Projected. He made a count of the bodies, 10 was the number he came up with. He didn't know if he counted Seinhem or not, but that didn't matter right now. He knew exactly where they were all placed, and made a note of it. He found a spot right under the light, and started to concentrate. It took a while, but right when he felt like something snapped, Wayne opened his eyes. He was floating. But the weirdest part was that he wasn't himself. Everything bright on him, including his permanent features, were now all black and silver. Of course, Wayne had no idea what happened, but ignored it. He found the blackish hole in Mr. Stephen's head, and jumped in. But he was blocked by silver feathers.

"Wait. I need to speak to you." the voice said.

"Who... who are you?" Wayne shivered, not expecting much.

"My name is not important, and my reason witheld at the moment. I wish only to ensure you that this isn't a simple task. There are some things that kill you not by force, but by your worst nightmare. Beware..." The voice sent a chill down Wayne's back.

And Wayne seemed to fall into a pool of water, yet the water was upside down and red.

(OOC; Really guys, I wanted to do the Worldbuilding of this mindscape xD. Oh well, it doesn't really matter in this particular case, but in other ones, don't enter the mind or describe it before me.)

Markus sighed, and floated down into the dark hole that was the gateway into the dreaming man's mind. He briefly caught sight of Seinhem waving, and waved back half heartedly, before falling into the dark depths of Mr. Jackson's mind.

Darkness consumed him. He balked for a second, feeling gravity again, as he fell to the ground. He managed to straighten out his legs before impact, and landed on the ground surprisingly softly; This caused him to trip and pitch forward.

The bird on his shoulder cackled at his misfortune, now sounding female. Markus glared at it. "Hey, be quiet. Why do you sound different?" He asked, blinking. The bird cooed a little. "Sound who?" It responded. Markus frowned but didn't take the bait. "What's your name?" he asked curiously. The bird cooed in response, still sounding female. "Maybe." It responded.

Markus grunted in frustration, but walked onward.

He was in a forest, in the loosest sense of the term. The trees were thick and multicolored, and the seemed to twist and bend in on themselves. He hesitantly put his hand on one of the trunks and felt it; The bark felt waxy.

He blinked a little at the odd sensation, shrugged, and went on his way.

ooc: Oh, very sorry. I kinda jumped the gun on you there didn't I?

"Well we'll never find anything just standing around, so lets just go this direction and see what we find," said Zenon.

Sounds good to me replied Huren.

The pair began walking what they at least though was North. The trees grew dense in some places, and scarce in others, but they were all very large and vibrant in color.

"I wonder why Jackson has such a colorful Mindscape if he's so stressed all the time..." said Zenon out loud.

Maybe this is his so called "Happy Place."

"That's a possibility..."

The pair continued walking more, and they approached a figure standing in a clearing ahead of them.

David dismissed the lingering question in his mind and hastened to join the rest of the group, not entirely sure what he was doing precisely to enter the gateway or whatever, but it kept him with the group, so he was satisfied. He landed on firm ground, and looked around, collecting as much of the semi-surreal surroundings before walking tentatively forward.

Then again, he considered that not everything in a dream-like world would make perfect logical sense to one who was not sleeping. He remembered that sort of surrealness from his own strange dream.

"I resent that," a voice hissed in his ear, which was followed by a tickling sensation. David recoiled in alarm and turned his head to stare in the direction the voice had originated from, but saw nothing behind him. Bewildered, he shook his head, only to receive the same sensation upon his other ear.

"As do I," a second voice hissed. This time David turned his head to look upon his shoulder and saw a green snake coiled around his neck, the contact unnoticed because of the scarf he was wearing. The oddest thing was not the presence of the snake, but the fact the reptile had two heads, one positioned on each side of his head.

"...huh..." was all he could muster in reply.

Following the group, I fell into the black hole headfirst. Fuzzy calmly sat in the air next to me.

"Be careful of how you land."

"Huh?" Was all I could muster before my face connected with the ground. It kinda hurt.

Looking around at the trippy trees, I felt like I was in a bloody dream.

"W...where are we?"

"This is Mr. Jackson's Mindscape. Wait for the Doctor, Katy, and he'll explain it all." Fuzzy the Cat nodded and closed his eyes, with what looked like a cat grin at the fact that he seemed to know more about this than I do.

"Alright, Fuzzy... I'll wait." Catching up with the rest of the ESP'ers, I stood in between the little one and the guy with the weird snake around his neck. "So, anyone know when Doctor dude's coming to meet us?"
