Altαir
A taxi, yellow in appearance, appeared down the lane at an extrodinary speed. The driver was a man who looked to be in his mid 40's wearing a plain white Polo and dress-up pants. In the back sat a teenage boy leaning on the window, looking as if he were about to throw up. "I hate cars..." was all he could mumble before he gaged, instinctivly covering his mouth just in case anything came out. The driver really didn't seem to care, he just tried to focus on the road. "Here." Wayne said as they passed the building which housed the Doctor F. Seinhem. He didn't even need to look up, Wayne could just feel the presence of many people, just like him. Wayne was hoping for a silent seminar with this doctor, where no one else was around. The driver halted to a stop, and because of his sudden pause, the car started to squeak as they came to a slow stop. The driver took much effort into parking the taxi, but halfway through, Wayne blurted out, "Just let me out of this thing!" The driver looked at him quizically, but then just unlocked the door. Wayne gave the driver his money, picked up his stuff and moved, in a fast pace, towards the building. Wayne had no time to take in his surroundings, and reached the entrance in just a few seconds. He opened the door, and entered the room, huffing. What he spotted first was the Doctor, and knew he was late. He quickly signed in with the secretary, and took a seat silently but quickly. Some might have glanced at him, which embarrassed Wayne, but most kept their eyes on the doctor which relieved him. Wayne's eyes averted back to the doctor. evilfusion
David gazed uninterestedly at the others that had begun gathering in the room. He wondered how many patients or whatevers the doctor had scheduled in such a short period. As far as he could tell, and judging by the previous comment by the receptionist, there was only one psychiatrist working here. His green eyes narrowed ever so slightly when an older man entered the room. Considering that the patients all seemed to be around his age or younger, David was willing to bet that this was the Doctor. The piercing gaze the older man fixed upon each of them all but confirmed his suspicions. It was at this moment that David realized he had been unable to pick up any random thoughts from the others, despite the number of people present, but he definitely wasn't complaining. However, he found the outburst from one of the others to be annoyingly aggressive, not to mention borderline nonsensical. A flicker of a smirk crossed his otherwise impassive face. "Wouldn't it be more beneficial to discuss your anger management concerns in private, rather than broadcasting them to the room?" he asked lazily, twirling a lock of his black hair around his index finger. Otaku-sama
Heikichi saw many new people enter the office. Heikichi began to notice that he couldn't hear the stray thoughts of the people around, even if he tried really hard. He couldn't figure out why, but he didn't mind. Almost suddenly, some of the people started to argue out of nowhere."Hey! You guys shouldn't fight! Fighting doesn't solve anything!"
shadowferret
Huh. So that's the Doctor.I couldn't hear anyone else's thoughts. I wonder why?The Doctor took turns looking at us, and for the three seconds he'd looked at me, I was frozen on the spot. His eyes were, like, piercing into me. You know how that feels? It doesn't feel all that fun. When his head turned away from me, I'd realized I was holding my breath.Looking around the room once again, the other people seemed to either be in awe, or just had an attitude problem.Great. Moody people. This should be a fun day.I remained seated in my chair, not saying anything, waiting for the Doctor to say something.
Hydra of Ages
Seinhem pursed his lips and nodded, moreso to himself than to anyone else. He glanced at James who had suddenly yelled at him, and stared at him for an extra few seconds, slowly cocking his head. He broke out into a smile. "All will be revealed in good time, James." He said in a good-natured tone. "I assume you all realize why you're here, or the basics at least. I've invested a good amount of time and money in order to find as many ESPers as I can, when their abilities surface." He paused for a second, then rubbed his palms together in a business-like way. "Well, let's get down to it, shall I? I'm heading up a project by the American Military, which is why a couple of you were 'escorted' here... I apologize for that, it wasn't my idea... In any case, my job's to teach you how to use your gift, and until I do, I'm responsible for you." Markus twitched a little bit as he listened intently. Master Mave II
Ooc:I didn't yell at you. James put down the magazine. "I see" he said "You intend to teach us to use our powers so that we can become weapons in the army, right?" There was a pause.James I sense something strange about this man. Vitex said.I know, I can't hear his thoughts and even though I said what I said I don't think that that's his true plan.I think that you should see what he has to say first. You are not the kind of person to jump to conclusions.Whatever his plans may be, I think that he's an ESPer like me, or he has a way of shielding his thoughts. If it's the latter then I can't trust him, but I might as well listen. James listened, waiting to hear the doctors response.
shadowferret
American Military, eh? I'm not into that at all. Therefore, I'm just gonna get out of here as soon as I can.I sat in my chair, listening to the Doctor go on.Yup. Gonna stand up and just walk right out of this building. The boy named James said something, but I didn't really catch any of it.Uh-huh. Time to leave. My butt sat planted in the fabric of the seat still.Damn it.Well, I suppose this is as good an opportunity as any to try and get some more information and use outta these strange abilities I have..."Quick question, Doctor... Before I agree to come with you, I have to ask. Am I gonna have to kill anybody?"
Star Child
I closed my eyes and saw an image of a dark-red bear, at least 2' shorter than me, walking around in an otherwise dark area of my subconsious mind. Another figure appeared in my thoughts, this one looked as though it was me. Me and the bear walked towards each other simultaniously, as if knowing one another. When I reached the bear it stood on both feet, now about 2' taller than me, and let out a load growl. I stood there with my eyes open and continued closer to the bear, then rested a palm in it. The bear suddenly calmed down and returned back to 4-feet unstead of 2. At the moment the bears feet all landed on the ground, my eyes shot open and I was back in the hospital, noticing that only a few seconds had passed. evilfusion
David frowned to himself. If the Doctor was involved in some sort of military research, why did that involve him? He always thought of himself as sort of average, nothing exceptional, at least nothing that could benefit the military. There was the case of him being able to hear the thoughts of other, but short of espionage or interrogation, that hardly seemed valuable. Unless espionage was the desired outcome. That...could get interesting. On the other hand, psychiatric research? And why were there so many others here? David was willing to bet, considering all of them had come here, to a psychiatric ward, that at least one or more of the people here were cracked in some way. He mulled over the fact that some of them, according to the doctor, had been escorted here, potentially by goverment or law enforcement. Cracked and potentially dangerous? David was abruptly very appreciative of the fact he had not been escorted. But did that make him more valuable or less valuable? Did it give him an advantage at all? Now that he thought of it, there were so many questions, the fact one of the others had been aggressively questioning the doctor didn't seem odd at all. Altαir
Wayne wasn't really paying attention to the subject at hand. His mind seemed to wander off when the Doctor said "millitary". Wayne stared off into space, and for a split second thought of the others around him. Do they know as much as I do? He then cleared his throat and sarted to speak. How are you going to improve our "gift" so that it can be easily controlled? Do you make us practice, or is some type of surgery involved?" Noticing that this doctor is being bombarded with questions, Wayne cut off on his other questions.
Otaku-sama
Heikichi saw the old doctor enter the room and explain why everyone was here."So everyone here can read minds and fly around too? I never knew that anyone else could do that too! Now I can have lots of friends when I go flying around the city now!"Heikichi got a little jumpy in his seat in the face the news. SPA7X
As the doctor walked in the room, he eyed him suspiciously. This man seemed normal enough, but he had a strange air about him, he couldn't quite place. He watched as the others in the room reacted to his presence, espically 2 in particular: A Rather angry boy, who pratically roared at the doctor about some dream nonesense, and a black haired boy who seemed to stare a him for a bit before turning and talking to someone else, fidgeting as he did. Then the doctor started speaking. "I'm heading up a project by the American Military... my job's to teach you how to use your gift..." The words Millitary and Gift stuck out in his mind. Gift? Is that what he called it? The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became. Finally he decided to join in the conversation, standing up as he did. "Look doc, I don't have a clue what your talking about. I'm just here to get back what I've lost. The article I found about you didn't say anything about becoming some army pawn. And what the hell are you talking about, ESP? I'm just here for answers to questions only you SUPPOSEDLY can answer. Oh, and if you haven't guessed, I'm not a very patient person." OOC: Btw, just a tidbit of info you might want to know, due to the unusual nature of his powers, Akashics not very good at the basic Esp powers (aside from astral projection). That is why he has no Idea what everyone else is talking about.

Hydra of Ages
Seinhem listened intently to all of the youths speaking to him, and while he didn't respond, looked like he was considering his answer. He tucked his hands into his pocket, and considered briefly for a couple seconds. After a few more, he sighed, took one hand out of his pocket, and brushed it through his dark hair. He gave a small smile. "Maybe I should have explained better." He said earnestly. "Firstly, my name is Fredrick Seinhem, though you probably knew that." He paused and fiddled with his glasses. "Secondly... I'm funded by the military, and I'm technically part of it myself, but you aren't. I can't MAKE you do anything, so to speak." He chuckled quietly, and gestured towards the door. "Those guys in the black vans can, however; Well, they can make you come to me. Believe it or not, they're all pretty scared of you. You shouldn't blame them, they've been going through training for months in preparation for this. ESP... isn't something the average person considers, so its quite frightening when someone without the gift learns others do have it." He paused, and rubbed his palms together. "As for if you're going to have to kill anyone? Not that I know of." He said simply. "I'm a doctor, not a soldier. My job's to help people, not kill them. Ideally, after I train you, I'd like you to be able to help people too. " He chuckled a little bit more. "As for you, Wayne... there is no surgery. No surgeon alive knows how exactly how the gift works. Biologically, our brains are no different from someone else'; At least as far as modern medicine is concerned. Practice... could be what you could call what we do, yes." His attention turned to Zachary, as he nodded and sat down, pressing his hands in front of his face in a tee-pee like position. "I suppose... I should start at the beginning." He hesitated. "The first recorded case of ExtraSensory Perception - ESP - Was over four thousand years ago. According to history, a young farmboy found a stone that fell from the heavens- a Meteorite -and suddenly gained the ability to perceive what others could hear. He could move objects. He could invade the minds of others. It took him a short time to be revered as a Demigod and overturn the pharaoh. of his time." He paused. "What you all have... is an ability very similar to that. All of you should be able to hear what other's think. The reason you can't do so now, is because fellow Espers are immune to that particular ability. A good number of you should be able to move objects with your mind... maybe change the temperature... maybe change the weather. And maybe you can't. That's ESP too." He paused. "And then... most of you should have also reached Projection. When you're able to separate your mind from your body and wander around like a spirit." He paused, then smirked. "I'm sure you're pretty good at that, aren't you, Heikichi?" He said with a smiling face at the eleven year old.
evilfusion
David sat up when Seinhem spoke, his green eyes intensely focused. While the explanation did not explain much, it was nevertheless fascinating. David mulled over several new thoughts that came to mind, and couldn't help but wonder what applications the military would have for these rumored abilities. Perhaps while one was untrained, the abilities were far, far less than their potential. That was the only explanation he could think of why so much time, training, and effort would have been put into gathering their group, when David doubted the abilities at present were remarkable beyond fascination. What these uses would be for...on the other hand...that was something David intended to monitor. He had never before considered, and was almost adamantly opposed to, admission to the military. His eyes narrowed thoughtfully. What uses and purposes might the other ESPers, or whatever they were called, serve? Seinhem said something about helping others, but was not clear on how, who, or why. Very interesting...
Otaku-sama
Heikichi listened as Seinheim explained to everyone who he was."I'm sure you're pretty good at that, aren't you, Heikichi?" Heikichi heard the doctor say."Yea, I do it all time! I go all over the city and in the buildings and everywhere! Then I sit on the tower in the city. You can see the whole city from there!" Heikichi enthusiastically spoke, "The bad thing is when I go back, my parents are really really worried and my mom is usually crying. I try to tell her I'm ok, but I don't think she believes me..." SPA7X
"Theres one small problem with your logic doctor, I DON'T have any of those powers. I can't read minds and I can't "move things with my mind". I'm just a normal guy, with some minor amnesia, and who knows things he shouldn't. things I've never learned... at least, I don't think I have. I can't remember. And as for your meteors, i've never even seen one. My problems started when I found this." He took out a black book, the cover of which was torn and inscribed with an unknown language. It also seemed to glow a little in the mildly lit room. "Care to explain, Doc?"
Star Child
I sighed a bit, "you just don't get it, do you? They want to create fighting machines out of us. We are nothing but lab rats to them and they don't give a damn about what happens to us, they just want their precious killing machinces up and going, and that would be us." I stopped for a second and pointed to the doctor again, "and this guy is the one trying to convince us that it's the right thing to do, that's why he wants us to practice. Of course we would've practiced anyway, but that's besides the point. And I'm tired of being treated like this!" When that last sentence ended the building started to shake and paintings fell from the wall, "I won't take any more of this, I'm going and taking this building down with me, along with everybody in it!"
Hydra of Ages
Seinhem sighed slightly, and flicked his arm as the building instantly settled. "Rjoury, I admit I doubt that your powers are quite advanced enough to knock down an entire building while you aren't even Projected, but some of those paintings are quite expensive. I can see this is a bit of a shock to you, and it's probably best you calm down without use of your abilities for a little while, at least until you calm down." He said in a gentle, pleasant voice. True to his word, the abilities of Rjoury seemed to have momentarily evaporated, as if a runner had his legs tied together. There was a distortion in the air next to the man, practically invisible, though it still somehow made its presence known. The doctor reached out and seemed to stroke the air; any ESPer could tell the invisible creature was pleased by this action, though there wasn't any sound or large shift in the air currents. Seinhem paused like that for a couple seconds. "I am not a Psychic myself." He said after a pause. "You may have noticed there's something next to him. I call him Rorschach. He is an ESLF, or ExtraSensory Life Form. He is a being of pure mental thought, similar to your states when your mind is projected." He paused again. "It is for the sake of Rorschach, not the military, that I wish to help you. I am being funded under the promise that, through observing you train, I can aid military espionage and interrogation techniques. I have no particular need to, or confidence that I will. I'm not even American by birth anyway, I grew up in Canada." He, once again, hesitated. "I met Rorschach by accident, more or less. He isn't quite sentient, not in the way you and I are, but he's taken a liking to me, and his very presence has... bolstered my mind. Not to the level of an ESPer unfortunately, but it has granted me certain abilities most humans do not have. Immunity to telepathy. Empathy. Perhaps a small smattering of insanity." He continued, more or less to himself. "Of course, I was enraptured by him. A being of mental prowess far exceeding my own, indeed exceeding the human race. And THEN I learned..." His eyes shifted to once again look at the crowd gathered. "That he is nothing more than the by-product of ESP. A conglomerate of mental power from across the world. He is a mish-mash of your abilities, catalyzed into a living being." He paused, and got up, pacing a little. "And with that tidbit of knowledge in mind, I became fascinated by the prospect of ESP. This modern day, specifically this modern generation, have had an over 7500% increase in the amount of Psychic Births. Indeed, it started with Meteorites... but for some reason, that no longer seems to be the case. I want to find out WHY. Why are Psychics here? Why are you suddenly increasing in number? And what is your full, true abilities? Those are the questions I live to answer. I'll help all of you, both because I feel you will be able to do more for the world -yes, the world, not this country- if you have been sufficiently trained, than if you were not; And, yes, because of the selfish desire to answer these questions that plague me. The military is a means, not an end to a means." He paused again, and took Zachary's book. He smirked. "Zachary, what I listed wasn't the total of all ExtraSensory Perception, it was simply the more common examples. You are no less Psychic than any here, its simply that your Gift is more specialized in a single area than the others. With enough training and dedication, you could acheive Scanning in less than a day if you haven't yet, and Psychokinetic Movement in a week. And that's training you could have done yourself, not the regimen I have set." He said simply, before handing the book back. "Your particular ability seems to have something to do with information assessment. I'm not entirely sure, as it is quite a bit more unique than other abilities, however both I and Rorschach can tell your latent abilities are the same as any other ESPer." He said simply. He glanced around. "Any more questions?"
evilfusion
David listened, focusing his full attention on what Seinhem was saying. He remained silent throughout the entire speech, only his eyes wavered from the doctor, focusing on the thing Seinhem had called 'Rorshach'. His mind was jolted at the mention of interrogation and espionage, but he just as quickly refocused. Once the doctor had finished speaking, David tapped his chin thoughtfully. Did he have any questions? Of course he did, but which ones were worth asking at this time and which would probably get answered later if he did the unthinkable in this group and actually demonstrated patience? El Beasto Perezoso
ooc: Blazinghydra did not respond to my PM so,My app:Name: ZenonAge: 16Physical Appearance: About 6" 3' in height, slender build, with long legs. Palish skin, but has a slight tan. Dark brown hair that comes down to his neck. Deep blue eyes with a red fringe around them. Wears a dark red hoodie over a shirt with some comical saying on it and faded jeans with frayed ends.Bio: Zenon lived with his parents up until he went to High School. He had extremely high academic abilities, and therefore went to a private school very far from his parents house. He visits them whenever he can. Besides that, nothing about his past is really out of the ordinary. He discovered abilities very late on when he was 14. he was sitting in his dorm room, when he noticed that he could hear things going on in the other rooms. He listened in and learned things about people that most wouldn't know. Eventually, he projected himself one night while asleep, and had ventured around the dorm to see what happened at night while others couldn't see him intruding. He hadn't expected this, and thought it to be a dream, until he brought up something he had to his friend next door, who was surprised that Zenon knew about it. During the Summer Break of that year, a man in dark clothing had approached him and handed him a letter from the Good Doctor. Personality: Zenon tends to keep to himself, but will act if he deems the situation to be harmful to him or others he cares for. He has a cool temper, but when he gets set off, the results are quite bad. He doesn't take sarcasm well.ID: Two meter-long blades attached to fancy red wolf-themed bands that circle Zenon's arms with hilts coming out of them for a better grip. When Zenon becomes enraged, fire can engulf the blades for a limited time.Egos: His hoodie changes to something of a winged suit of armor that allows him to fly and have very limited regenerative abilites, as well as slight protection against physical blows. (Ie It takes a lot more to knock the wind out of him)Superego: Huren - A large black wolf about 7 feet from head to tail. Sharp fangs (obviously), claws, and the fur on his tail can be pricked up to become somewhat of a spiked mace if swung correctly. It has a personality similar to that of Zenon, except it tends to over-analyze situations. Huren allows Zenon to ride him when necessary, but he really doesn't care for the extra weight, and Zenon tends to fly instead. Also when enraged, Huren will gain a firey aura around him, as well as gaining the ability to shoot fire balls a distance out of his mouth. shadowferret
Hm... Seems a little TOO friendly for my tastes. But what the heck, this sounds kind of interesting.I decided to walk up to this thing the Doctor referred to as Rorschach. If it's true that this... thing was made of ESP power, then I'd like to do a little investigation into it. Maybe, if I learned enough about it, I could learn how to create this phenomena on my own.Without really thinking, I stood up and walked towards the Doctor. He regarded me with an odd look, and I heard myself mutter "sorry about this."Then, concentrating as hard as I could on emiiting my ESP powers, I extended my hand right out into the spot I thought Rorschach would be, just to see what happens. Master Mave II
James listened to what the doctor said and thought that he might be able to trust him, but he was more intrested in the being called Rorschach. Isn't he from watchmen? James saw ripples in the air, but that was it. A woman about 18 or 19 stood up and walked over to Rorschach. She muttered something to herself and reached out to touch it. "Are you sure you should touch that thing? Who know what could happen." James said, now standing up aswell. "Sure the doctor touched it, but what if only he can touch it without getting hurt or something?"
Otaku-sama
Heikichi observed Rorshach. Unlike the others in the room, Heikichi was able to see Rorshach not as a strange distortion in the air, but as a little bird. The bird flitted around in place as the others began to try to comprehend the creature. The bird seemed to eye everyone with an innocent expression. Heikichi giggled a bit."Rorshach-chan is cute! A little bird!"
Star Child
I calmed down when he started making his speach and listened the whole way through it, ".....I'll help......But if the army tries to get me involved in war, then I think you know what'll happen, don't you?" I continued standing and thinking, scanning the back of my mind for questions and such, I stood there for only a few seconds before something crossed my path. I eyed the doctor and spoke, "what do you mean my psychic by-product?"
