Post Count Disabled in Role Playing

I support.

 

I don't go into the Role-Playing Section but I hear its a spamhole. And, if I eventually do go into the Role-Playing Section, I don't want a thread I make become lost upon the millions of other threads because they're all being spammed in (thus making my thread go down the page, and onto the second one, and the next one, ands the next one...).

 

If you can't disable post count in the Role-Playing Section, why not make it so people don't receive post counts at a certain time every day or so. During that time, people could view the Role-Playing Section and sign up for Role-Plays while everything has calmed down (due to spammers not posting in that time slot because of no post count).

 

So all in all, like I said, I support.

But can anyone deny that RPs are games? They are interactive story-telling games. If there was a rebellion' date=' then surely the Mods have the ability to stop it. The only reason this hasen't been implemented yet is certain people's petty fear of the backlash. I go on a Forum where the entire site except me spend almost their entire time online role-playing. They would never agree with this due to their devout views on role-playing. I think it is ridiculous that people even think Role-Plays aren't games at all. Oh, and GET THE F**K OUT OF MY THREAD CEDEFIA. IF YOU WANT TO SPAM, GO RAISE YOUR POST COUNT IN THE RP SECTION.

 

 

I also find it absolutely ridiculous that certain Moderators feel the need to mock this thread openly. Go write Emo Poetry or something. This shouldn't be reported because it is a formal suggestion. I did not mean to offend or degrade anyone when I started this thread. It is a personal choice and this thread is filled with angry postwhores desperate to supress even the slightest suggestion that could harm their legendary status.

If you're just going to quote posts and proclaim that this topic is stupid (Roxas, I have lost respect for you) to get your precious post count up then why don't you do so in the RP section.

If you were to get rid of Post Count in the RP section, it would cause it to be much more less active. Many members would lose 100's to 1000's of posts.

 

I feel the RP section isn't very spammy at all. Most of the posts are longer, and mean much more than posts anywhere else.

 

I mean, General has way more spam then the RP section.

Games isn't moderated; RPs is. It's much, much harder to spam properly in RPs than in games. Also, see the bolded.

I don't use the section, however I see the logic behind your idea.

Regardless, post count isn't really important here, but I do find it a tiny bit aggravating when someone who has little to no experience with the point of Yugioh Cardmaker Forum, with more stars/posts than myself.

All in all, no support, because I fail to see the use behind this. So what if you get a buncha stars from Role Playing? When you show it off, what will you have to say? "I'm an avid Role Player" is what.

There's nothing wrong with games getting post count, there's just generally an opposition to giving post count to many games that require very little thought and time.

 

Then why did we give post count to RPs that required very little thought and time? It's either all or none; you can't have just one or the other.

Yes, such is the reason half of the threads posted get locked. But we do our best to keep it spic and span. We cant touch Clubs and Organizations, its just too much for anyone to do, looking through clubs for spam and such. Such is why I suggest eliminating post count there all together.

Also, there was a good point raised last page: Roleplays are interactive stories. You'd have to disable post count in fanfic as well if you want to take down RPs; a fanfic is just an RP with one author.

I disagree, the majority of posts in fanfic are reviews and suggestions for the work. If you are going to disable fanfic, you might as well disable post count in CC too.

I disagree, the majority of posts in fanfic are reviews and suggestions for the work. If you are going to disable fanfic, you might as well disable post count in CC too.

What's the big problem? So there are some people only in the RP section to get some posts, sheet happens! There also a lot of people making useless comments in the Custom Card section to get some points, "Great Card 8/10" "Nice, 9/10!" thinks like that. And why do people have to mention things like that "this thread is in the wrong section" when your not saying anything else and somebody else already said that? Every section has people just posting for the posts and RP isn't the one with the most.

Not having post count would improve the quality of the RP section. It would get rid of the people who are there just for the post count, and make room for the people who are just there to RP.
