EHERO Andrew
This is probably a deck worthy of using in tournaments. but my question is, when a Gladiator Beast is:-attacked, destroyed and sent to the Grave-attacks and destroyed by a card effect-attacked and destroyed the attacking monster with a card effectDoes it still activate it's exchanging effect since it "attacked" or "was attacked" while it's in the Grave? Fusions:GB HeraklinosGB Gaiodiaz x2 Monsters:GB Hoplomus x2GB Spartacus x2 (THIS IS SPARTA!!!)GB LaquariGB Ocatvius x2GB Murmillo x2GB Bestiari x2GB Dimacari x2GB Alexander x2GB Secutor x2Test Ape x3 Spells:Colosseum-Cage of the Gladiator Beasts x3Lightning Vortex x3Gladiator's ReturnGladiator Beast's RespiteGladiator Beast's Battle ManicaGladiator Beast's Battle GladiusGladiator Beast's Battle Halberd Traps:Call of the HauntedDisarm x3Sakuretsu Armor x3Parry x3 What do you think of this cool deck? Yogg-Saron
First off, no they don't. Thats why they came out with Monica. Secoundly, if you can, get 3 Test Tigers. Overall, I couldn't see this deck used in tournaments.
Professor Cobra
Otherwise, add another staple card. Perfect. 10/
EHERO Andrew
Wouldn't it still be considered that the Gladiator was attacked when it was destroyed in battle? It doesn't say it has to survive to activate it's ability. The text says, "At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked, you can return it to the Deck to Special Summon 1 'Gladiator Beast' monster from your Deck, except 'Gladiator Beast X'." It doesn't say "attacked or was attacked and survived". So I think you can activate it's effect when it's in the Graveyard. If it was removed from play, it wouldn't activate it's effect. BTW, I bought 2 GA boxes and never got a Test Tiger. Plus, Gladiators are better in Contact Fusing than Neos.
EHERO Andrew
Doe anyone know a site where I can go to that can officially tell me how the GB's work? Bc If I'm right about their effect, I'll use them in a tournament.
Master52394
a good site would be www.yugiohpreview.com
EHERO Andrew
that site didn't answer my question. Can I activate it's ability if it battles and/or gets destroyed as well. Bc in the original japanese text (since UDE can't change the effects of monsters), it says that after it BATTLES it activates its effect, so I think you can activate it's effect even if it's in the Grave, but it has to attack or be attacked. If your opponent, let's say, uses Lightning Vortex when during his Main Phase, that's when it can't activate its effect.
Dag 417
Try this: http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/yugioh/en/gameplay/faqs/cardfaqs/default.aspx?first=F&last=H
EHERO Andrew
It still doesn't talk about Gladiator Beasts going to the Grave after it attacks or was attacked. That's what I need to know. I need to know whether I can activate its effect even if it goes to the Grave and send it to the Deck to switch it with another GB. Dag 417
Two things. 1. Atleast of their spell/trap cards stop them from going to the graveyard, so I don't think their effects would work from there. 2. Do you realize how incredably good they would be if their effect were like that.
EHERO Andrew
It doesn't make sense that when they "battle" and go to the Grave and don't activate their effect. If it was removed from play, that would be different. But if they had the ability to come back to the deck after battle, why did Yugioh make them weak? the strongest Level 4 GB is 1800. I think they made them weak in battle, but strong in effect. The only way you can kill a GB is by effect before they attack, like using Lightning Vortex or Bottomless Trap Hole, or Torrential Tribute or Solemn Judgment or you can stop them from attacking with Messenger of Peace, before Alexander comes to the field w/ his effect activated. If they don't activate their effect after battle even in the Grave, they are just as bad as the E-Heroes. And Yugioh Company have learned their lesson to make the GB better than that. They just made them just as good as the 6 Samuaris.
