I'm back with some big news! Blizzard announced at BlizzConn the arrival of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm! This Expansion has the following:

  • A new Sundering has changed up all of the Old World (Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor) zones, including spliting the Barrens in two and major destruction to Ashenvale, the Badlands and the Wetlands, and the Desolace becoming a lush forest!.
  • Level cap increased to 85!
  • New races: Kezan Goblins (Horde), Gilneas Worgen (Alliance)
  • New race/class combos including: Tauren Paladin, Gnome Priest, and Human Hunter among others.
  • Flying available in the New Old World content!
  • Heroic Versions of Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep!
  • Deadwing is back and he might have something to do with the new Sundering!

Check out the expansion's website for more details!

I personally have a lot of problems with the new expansion. Worgen and Goblins are terrible new race choices' date=' and what the hell Blizzard? Tauren Paladins? Troll Druid? GNOME PRIESTS? The territory changes are great, but come on.

Alot of people booed at the NE mage. I honestly thought Goblins And Worgens were nice additions. It adds to the whole story. Goblins having to oin the Horde to survive, and the Worgen getting accepted into the Alliance. Though what I dont like is that even if you dont own the expansion you get the whole destroyed land. Archeology is nice. Reforging is also good. (And no I dont play WoW. My brothers do and I want to know the rest of the Warcraft Story.

The only thing concerning me about the release of this patch is that all of the awful players who would generally play horde (teenaged males with no sense of decency) will probably make a Worgen account simply because Worgen are "bad ass." I like my runs consisting entirely of mature and respectable players. Then again, a change from this is just speculation on my part. Also, Night Elves should have gotten Shammy, not Dwarves. In the end though, I suppose it's nice that we're not getting infected with YET ANOTHER midget race...

The whole Onyxia being completely revamped (and new BRM raid :D) is pretty sick, def looking forward to the Onyxia Pet / Mount that will be complementary to the release of this expansion. :D (heard this from a friend who did research, not directly from any Blizzard source) Also, the raise of the Level Cap from 80-85 is going to be a pretty sick edition, bomb out some more quests and a little bit more inflation will make getting all the "expensive" things in the current game so much easier to get at the higher levels of play (85 rather than 80).

Overall, I'm very pleased.

Onyxia 2.0 comes out in the next minor content patch (3.2.2) Im going to hate having to carry bads through it because they can't dodge the deep breath.

Overall Im excited for the revamp of Azeroth. I liked most of the Azeroth zones way more than anything in Outlands or Northrend.

And at the comment about goblins having 200 funking racials, all other races are having there racials revamped. (although, the portable bank that goblins have is pretty OP)

Plus Deathwing being the main villan is pretty funking awesome, Hes my favourite from Warcraft lore.

Worgen is damn epic. They just are! I am so going to level a Worgen Hunter or warrior when this comes out' date=' even though I play Horde in most cases.

My bro is probably gunna re-roll his Dranei Warrior for a Worgen one. Also I cropped the Cataclysm logo. So now even the most uncreative of you can make complete crap.

BE Warriors should have come out with Burning Crusade. (Although with lore, it would make more sense now.)

I play Alliance, so It doesn't really matter to me though, I don't see why everyone is so 'OMG' about Gnome Priests though, I think us Gnomes should get Druidism (:P), I also think Worgens should get the Paladin class, that would be epic. Agreed?

IMO, the new racial combos is like this:

Human Hunter = Meh

Gnome Priest = Meh

Dwarf Mage = Meh

Dwarf Shaman = According to lore, it actually makes sence

Night Elf Mage = I lol'd

Tauren Priest = -_-' Tauren Rouges would have made more sense

Tauren Paladins = Not so bad lorewise or gameplaywise, altough I think Undeads should have gained this instead

Blood Elf Warrior = They should have gotten it with TBC

Troll Druid = I lol when I think about how their Cat and Bear form will look like.

Orc Mage = ... (Lolwut?)

Undead Hunter = Finally I can roleplay that Dark Ranger I've always wanted to be!

Tell me if I forgot any.

But there is the fact that Night Elves have forbidden sorcery for 10,000 years. So Night Elf mage makes less sense than say, shaman. Kinda too bad Draenei aren't getting anything but whatever. Kinda glad gnomes can heal now thogh. And 2 questions: Does anybody stay dead anymore? I swear Tichondrius is still alive biding his time and Uther and Grom will be Arthas' newest Lieutenants. Lastly, anybody else find the idea of a werewolf using magic to fight a little weird?

Tichondrius is dead yo, Your thinking of Mal'Ganis, No idea where you got the Uther and Grom thing from, And Worgens used to be human before they were infected, so Magical worgens make perfect sense.

Mal'Ganis was supposed to be dead. So was Balnazzar. So was Muradin. I'm just saying that no one stays dead anymore. Besides, I know what Mal'Ganis has been up to; he's been heading the Scarlet Crusade/Onslaught, kinda funny really. Sometimes I think the only reason Mannaroth and Gul'dan have stayed dead is cause their skulls are hanging up in Ogrimmar and consumed by Illidan respectively.

Mal'Ganis and Mestiphorth are the only two named Natherziem that haven't died yet anywhere in the lore. Mal'Ganis escaped after confronthing Arthas in Stratholme and hasn't shown up since, Lorewise Balnazzar (he was the one who was leading the Scarlet Crusade, In disguise) is dead, You kill him in level 60 living Stratholme. Muradin was never confirmed dead, people just thought he was dead because they haven't heard anything of him since he disappeared. The only time a character doesn't "stay dead" is when the lore never confirms his or her death.

Apparently you aren't up to date on things in Northrend. I'm not sure who Mestiphorth is but in Icecrown you receive a quest to kill the High Admiral who has been seen giving orders to High General Abbendis. When you fight the High Admiral and get his health low enough, he reveals himself to be Mal'Ganis. Besides, in Warcraft 3, Arthas struck down Mal'Ganis in Northrend after obtaining Frostmourne. Additionally, a quest line in Dragonblight confirms that Muradin merely has amnesia. Lastly, Balnazzar was supposedly killed by Varimathras when Sylvanas and the Forsaken took the Capital city in the expansion of Warcraft 3. Balnazzar was even given a neat little cinematic where Varimathras stuck him down after slaying Garithos.

Wow, I feel like a nerd now.

I never did that quest in Northrend, so I dont know that part of Mal'Ganis' lore, but from what I read on WoWhead it seems he escapes alive. Also, Varimathras never killed Balzzanar. He faked his death to fool Sylvannis. He shows up In WoW in the level 60 version of Stratholme, where he then, lorewise is killed.

Oh, and Mestiphototh is another Natherziem, He had like 2 lines in WC3, that was about it.

Oh right, the blue one I think. And yeah Mal'Ganis did escape alive (insert cursing here). I don't like it when my prey gets away.
